OVERLOOKED - Part 1 -🔥Heatwave 🔥

Hey Simmers !

Enough teasing, the first part of the Overlooked Set is finally out !

As promised, I’ve made two versions of each item : a functional one requiring the For Rent EP, and a deco version that’s base game compatible. The towel is, of course, base game.

I’ve separated the BGC and For Rent versions into two folders, so you can just download the one you want. The towel isn’t included in either folder, so don’t forget to grab it as well !

We went with a coffee theme, and made drinks and desserts.

The theme this month was for Coffee!

12 drinks and 3 dessert recipes - all original meshes and hand-drawn textures.

Releasing today are the full lot of drink recipes. 12 in total.

Fun, bright Lattes in a retro-style glass!

Butterfly Pea Flower, Pink Velvet, Mocha Biscoff, London Fog, and Dark Chocolate Grasshopper(no alcohol).

3 Darker, a little more elegant drinks in a smooth square glass.

Cookies and Cream, S'more, and Tiramisu

And 4 cute wafflecone drinks!

Cappuccino, Matcha Latte, White Chocolate Strawberry, and a cute Hot Chocolate with marshmallows. The Hot Chocolate is available for kids to drink! They can use the espresso machine by them self, but a teen and up can make one for them ^^ All drinks can be made by accessing the new Drinks category in our cookbook and Tablet!

Next is our fancy desserts - all three require the Gourmet skill. 3 for Affogato and 5 for the Tiramisu recipes.

Affogato.

Vanilla gelato, Espresso, and a shot of liqueur. We used amaretto, but since there are no bar-drink buffs, or alcohol in the used ingredients, you can also give it to your non-drinking sims.

Classic Tiramisu

Mascarpone, Espresso-soaked Ladyfingers, and Cocoa Powder are the base for this classic recipe.

White Chocolate Raspberry Tiramisu

Mascarpone,Ladyfingers, Raspberries, White chocolate, and a light dusting of powdered sugar. The large servings are on a crystal cake stand, that would fit into a home or your bakery/cafe!

The desserts can be found under the Desserts category on our cookbook and tablet.

can i get political for a sec?

while working on my geography & region logic masterpost, i kept running into something that’s been obvious for a while: there is no sims 4 world that represents any culture below the northern hemisphere. at least not without exoticizing, flattening, or othering it, that is.

selvadorada, sulani, tomarang: they’re beautiful. but they’re not ours. they weren’t built for those of us who live, love, grieve, and dream in the global south or descend from it. they’re not living, breathing homes. they’re postcards and backdrops to someone else’s adventure.

i see simmers building entire saves around resistance, diaspora, reparation. i admire them. i want to be one of them. but i also want more than what the game hands me. more than vacation-only worlds, mystified jungles, lootable temples, or ‘spice festivals’ stripped of language and lineage.

my mother is from a region directly referenced in selvadorada. i’d love to place my abuela and primes there, let them grow crops, fall in love, age into legacy. but selvadorada wasn’t built to hold them. only to be visited, looted, photographed, and left behind.

i’m not asking for perfection. i’m asking for possibility; isn’t that the point of the sims? for culture to be more than aesthetic. for queerness to exist as resistance, community, and context, not just a neutral sandbox function. for our stories to be written in. not added as selling points.

this isn’t a takedown. and i hope it doesn’t come off as whiny or brainrotted by identity politics.

it’s a longing.

that we build worlds where our people don’t just appear, but belong.

Simco Sno-Kone Dispenser & Kart™

Here's a little something for those hot summer sim days!

The dispenser works like any other counter top appliances. You can fill the dispenser with 3 servings a snow cone, or you could just make 1.

The kart works similarly to a bar. Your sim can tend to the bar, you can grab a snow cone from the kart or you can hire a vendor for it. Once you higher a vendor you have to click on the vendor to order a single snow cone or snow cones for the group if your sim is in one.

lmao im so sorry for not being consistent with the names and everything. i just looked it up and i know it's interchangeable or something, but 'collection' just seems more appropriate for skincare.

this collection is quite new to me! roundlab is a well-known brand in korea, but i've honestly only tried their birch tree and dokdo just because the colours are so pretty lol

as always, QMBiBi's Skin Self Care mod is required for some of these items to function. or they can just be some pretty clutters for your bathroom. i've updated the link to direct to the overhauled version since it's available for everyone now!
