Sup, So, I know it’s a little hard to see because of the colors and stuff, but if you look closely, there’s a lady on the left raising her right hand. She’s one of the grandmothers at the church I’m currently serving at, and man, it’s been pretty amazing to be able to worship beside her. Over the weekend, our church held a missions conference, and for some reason the worship team was told to prepare all English songs because they felt that the audience was going to be filled with English speakers. You can imagine the shock when the day came and our pews were filled with majority Hmong speakers. It was pretty amazing though, when it came time to worship through songs, the fact that this lady was unable to read our English slides didn’t stop her from worshiping. She knew all that she needed to know, and that was that at that given time, we were singing praises to our Heavenly Father, and so did she. It’s pretty cool, I’m constantly reminded that our Heavenly Father is working in our lives in amazing ways. This evening I was reminded that our worship transcends language barriers, and that God delights in even the simplest forms of worship. This may be elementary to some people, but I’m definitely glad God is reminding me of these things.

Content.
There’s always this internal struggle within every person to want what’s best for him/herself, and that’s totally fine. I mean, everyday the thing that propels us to get out of bed in the morning is the need to do things in order to inch our way towards this ideal picture of “what’s best for us.” This is definitely not a bad thing, but we often forget that sometimes, well, most of the time, our picture of “what’s best for us” and God’s actual plan for us are not the same thing. When this happens, can we really be content with God’s plan for us when it goes against everything we’ve been trying to build for ourselves?
I’m constantly reminded of this each and every single day of my life. Definitely reminded to leave room for the Holy Spirit to pull and work on my heart to be sensitive to God’s plan. Overall, God’s plan for me is ultimately better than the plans that I have for myself, and because of that, I have learned to be content with things. If it’s a question between God’s plan or mine, I’m choosing God every time. Man, because if God is in control, everything’s going to be just fine, even more so, things are going to be great.

"I don't want to survive, I want to live!" - Captain, WALL-E. There so much more to life than just getting through the day. God gave you life, live it! It's a good day.

Be Present.
“I wish there was a way to know you’re in the good ol’ days before you’ve actually left them.” - Andy Bernard, The Office.
It’s 3:40am in California and I’m in bed, browsing through my phone, with the season finale of The Office streaming on Netflix. For the majority of the episode the show simply served as white noise while I scrolled down my Facebook newsfeed, that is, until I heard these words from Mr. Andy Bernard. I thought, “man, that’s so true.”
Being a recent college grad, this is definitely something that has crossed my mind on multiple occasions. People alway say that the college years are the best 4 years of your life, and to some, that’s very true. College was definitely a great time: made tons of friends, played ball every night, procrastinated on every homework assignment, etc. You know, just living life on the edge - there was a time when I only had about 19 cents in my bank account. If that’s not living life on the edge, I don’t know what is! Lol.
Anyways, back to the quote, the issue here is that we view these four years with such high regard that we automatically assume that nothing else can ever come close. When we do this, we close ourselves to the thought that great things can take place in our current circumstances. The average life expectancy is about 80, don’t dwell on the past, great things are being orchestrated around us all the time.
In short, be present in your circumstances and whatever capacity you’re placed in. It’s not accidental, you’re there for a reason, it’s going to be a great time!
