♡ I got a request for some Yoongi angst with a happy ending so here we are. As always, thank you to the darling anon who requested this ♡

Pairing: idol!boyfriend!yoongi x chubby!latina!reader

Summary: You and your boyfriend reach a turning point in your relationship after a particularly tough argument one night

Genre: angst/fluff

Word Count: 726

A/N: I named this one "daylily" because they're these beautiful flowers that bloom even under the toughest conditions. Daylilys survive everything together. Yes, yes, I'm a softie. I know!

You can’t even remember them now. Those daggered words spoken through quivering lips late last night. Words forged in the scorching flames of a wounded heart fall away like the petals of a dying flower. There’s no sound to the memories that flash through your mind.

Yoongi rips through his closet, shoving whatever he can grab into the duffle bag in his hand. He’s screaming at you. No. Not at you. At the universe. At the circumstances that led the two of you here. And you’re crying, tears clouding your vision.

The tightness in your chest is immense. It’s almost as if a boa constrictor’s wrapped itself around you, intent on making you its next meal. You say something and, whatever it is, you’re consumed by defeat when it’s met with silence.

Yoongi pushes past you, disappearing down the hall. You feel the vibration of the front door slamming shut as he leaves. Dropping to the floor, you bury your face in your hands and now you’re screaming. At the universe. At the circumstances that led the two of you here. At the absence of the man you love.

You inhale. It’s morning and you aren’t sure if you’ve exhaled yet. If you have it’s just barely because the knot in your chest is still there. The ground beneath you is as soft as a cloud, softer even, and something’s embracing the curves of your figure.

Only this time the pressure surrounding you isn’t suffocating. It’s comforting. Familiar. Sitting up you realize that you’re in bed, a few feet away from where you fell asleep on the floor. You spot the black duffle bag near the closet, its contents scattered in the aftermath of a half-hearted attempt to put everything back.

Glancing down at the source of the weight around your waist, you see an arm with a ticking silver watch dangling from the wrist. “Yoongi?” you whisper, turning your head to find him lying beside you, a mess of dark wavy hair shielding his face from the light of the rising sun.

He shifts a little, bringing you down to him, your faces so close that your nose brushes against his. “What are you doing here?” Yoongi opens his mouth and the sound returns, his low hum of a morning voice warming your cheeks, “We said we’d never run away, right? Can’t break my promise.”

"It's fine. You don't have to..." you start but every thought in your brain’s washed away when his lids part, trapping you in his deep brown eyes. “Don’t do it.” “Do what?” “That. Push me away.” You lower your head, unable to face the truth of that statement or the face of the man who makes it.

Yoongi’s away so often. On tour. In the studio. Doing interviews. You thought you could handle it but somewhere along the way the loneliness began to eat at you and it felt safer to keep him out than to lose him again and again. “I get why you do it” he sighs, fingertips dancing along your cheek, “I can’t imagine how lonely you must get. How sad. That’s why I want you to come with me.”

“Come with you?” you ask, wide eyes fixed on him once again, “Come with you where?” Yoongi shrugs, kissing you on the forehead, “Mmm, everywhere?” You laugh, unsure you heard him clearly, “Everywhere?” “Everywhere. I mean it. I want you with me, y/n. I know it’s a lot to ask you to just pick up and…”

You kiss him, delicate and sweet, cutting short his own attempt at protecting his feelings. “Don’t do that” you whisper, using your fingers to comb his hair back. “What?” “Push me away. I’ll come with you.” Yoongi’s face lights up brighter than it has in months, “Really?” You nod, cradling his face in your hands, “Mmhmm.”

“I…I fucking love you, you know that? I love you!” he shouts and he’s pulling you closer, kissing you all over. “I love you too” you giggle, doing your best to keep from falling off of the bed. But you don’t care if you do because for the first time in a long time, maybe for the first time ever, the fear of losing him doesn’t exist anymore.

Inevitably he’ll leave again. Abandon this city, this country, altogether. And he’ll do it with you by his side or not at all.
