#throwbackthursday again to @monsterpaloozaofficial! It was a very successful show, I sold most of the pieces I brought to display on my table. I still have some wall-hanging display half-masks left, which I will eventually post if anyone is interested. But here are a few of the good people who gave some of my monsters a home! @andrewcosby took home my Inferno and my U-Cifer! @cmonsterslayer got my Aleen and I got one of his awesome creatures from his Shallow Water film! @benbayouth took my demon brothers home, Smokey Joe and the Inferno! @artguy79 took home a Toxic-Punk Zombie! @sffxstudios got my Clown Zombie! And my Pink Punk Zombie also sold! Unfortunately I didn’t get a pic of everyone who purchased a piece, but happy I was able to get these! Thanks again to everyone who came by my booth at Monsterpalooza and to all the collectors who took one of my monsters home with them! Here is my “John Merrick” makeup demo that I did on stage at the @ppipremiereproducts booth at @monsterpaloozaofficial ! I love seeing the photos that keep coming in! These photos were by @tiffykphotos. Model is @cable3113. @wintermadness88 helped apply the cowl. @annacalimakeup helped with in studio labwork. I will be posting more but here is a repost from PPI: #REPOST @ppipremiereproducts .... The John Merrick prosthetics were designed and sculpted by Anthony Kosar (@kosarteffects) for John Malkovich in 2016 for a short film "Psychogenic Fugue" (by Sandro with Squarespace and the David Lynch Foundation, and was inspired by Christopher Tucker’s original makeup for the David Lynch film “The Elephant Man.”) All lab work and foam-running by Kosart Studios. The prosthetics were spattered and airbrushed with Liquid Skin Illustrators, with hair pre-applied with Telesis Spirits. Since the foam-latex cowl is large and has some weight, he used Beta Bond Plus to adhere the cowl to the model's forehead and cheeks. He used Black Skin Illustrator to blacken out the model's upper teeth, then used Telesis 5 and Thinner to apply the 3 foam-latex face prosthetics. The prosthetics were then blended into the skin with home-made cab-o-patch and MelGel. He painted the prosthetics and continued into his skin with a base coat of MelPAX paint, followed by spattering and stippling various colors from the Skin Illustrators Fleshtone Palette, Complexions Palette, and FX Palette, followed by airbrushing several Liquid Skin Illustrators of the same color palettes for additional highlight and shadows and color matching. "Of the many colors I used, I primarily used Rice Paper for highlights, Lividity for shadows, Light Mauve for subtle mottling, and an overspray of Olive Adjuster and Prime Yellow to sink the colors back a bit. I then gave some final touches with colors from the three palettes and a paintbrush". Ben Nye Ultimate FX Palette Creme makeups was used around the eyes.
