I just wanted to drop in and say thanks so much for organizing the fest - I've just come into the fandom and it was so nice to find! (And I'll totally be watching out for it, should you ever repeat.)

This pinch hit would be due July 12, 2014 @ 11:59PM EST. For each pinch hit, you only have to fill one of their requests.

Treating

Looking for Oofuri prompts to write fanfic for? Did you want to participate in the Koshien Exchange but missed the deadline or didn't want to sign up as an official participant?

You can now view the exchange participants' requests here!

Treating is not only welcome, but encouraged! All requests will remain visible, so you could write as many fics--of any length--as you like. You do not have to be an official participant of the exchange to write treats, so please feel free to share the requests link with your friends, followers, and anyone else you think would be interested in writing treats for you or any of the other participants.

Anything you write can be uploaded to the archive here. All fics will be revealed on July 18th.

will the list of prompts be posted anywhere so people could write treats or anything? or will only the assigned authors see the prompts? i kind of want to try writing something but i'm not confident enough to sign up in case i don't succeed

We not only welcome treating, but encourage it! After assignments are sent out on June 12th, the requests will be made visible on the archive. We will provide a more detailed post about treating on June 12th, but you do not have to be an official participant to post treats to the archive collection.

hi there! i;m trying to sign up for the exchange but i ended up entereing a series if tags that are "non canonical", and so i'm sort of stuck. Should i list those ships in the prompt descriptions or is it possible to put in a request for them?

I encountered the same issue when I signed up. The archive’s tag wranglers determine which relationship tags are “canonical” or not, so there’s no way for us to make those changes on our end. In cases like yours and my own, you would list those ships in the request description fields and/or your dear author letter, yes! That way we can use those listed pairings as matching criteria when we make assignments, and your assigned writer can see them too.

hello! do you have sign ups for pinch hitters?

We do! If you’re able to pinch hit, you would tell us so in the description box of the “Offers” field. You’ll find the “Offers” field at the bottom of the sign-up form. If you mean to sign up exclusively as a pinch hitter (i.e. not participate in the exchange and forego receiving a gift), then you would send us an email at koshienexchange@gmail.com with your AO3 username and preferred email address so we can contact you should the need arise.

In either case, we appreciate you signing on to pinch hit for us!

Team Ensemble Tags Added to "Additional Tags" Field

To provide a middle ground between the twenty character offer limit and offering "All" characters, we've added the option to select team ensemble tags in the "Additional Tags" field. If you feel comfortable writing any and all characters on a team, selecting that team's ensemble tag conveys that to us mods so we can take that into account during the matching period. While this is optional, we recommend that you use this option if the twenty character offer limit is too restrictive for you to convey the full range of characters you're capable of writing!

You can reference our tag set to have a look at the characters organized by team.

Sign-ups are now OPEN!

The Koshien Exchange is Ookiku Furikabutte's 1k summer fanfic exchange! Sign-ups will remain open from now through June 7.

You can make two (2) to five (5) requests, with one (1) to ten (10) characters per request. You will have to offer at least three (3) characters you feel comfortable writing, and may offer up to twenty (20) or all listed characters. Have a look at our tag set to determine which characters you'd like to offer and request.

You can also specify up to ten (10) relationships (poly and non-romantic ships welcome!) per request. While relationship selections are optional, we recommend you make them for better matching purposes.

Before signing-up, please read our rules and FAQ. Look over our timeline to know when your work will be due. If you have any questions, you can send a message to our tumblr or email us at koshienexchange@gmail.com.
