Trench would win, hands down. Darling is very buff, yes, but trench was a legendary field agent before becoming director. Darling also gives off major ADHD energy which does make him dorky and attractive, but I feel like he would probably get distracted or fascinated by something mid fight allowing trench to land a K.O.

I feel like we don't talk about Saga enough. She's girlbossing her way through everything kicking ass. Weird ass shit started happening and she didn't know anything about all that paranatural stuff yet she still wanted to solve the case. She found weird ass manuscripts in the woods and decided to just do what they say? Amazing. She thought her intuition was giving her these insane revelations about people when in reality she is a seer. She adapts so fast to this unhinged creepy shit happening (well, as much as one can adapt). Also she loves puns and is silly. She wears a red knitted sweater under her FBI jacket. She pets taxidermied deer heads. Amazing. Outstanding. You go, you absolute girlboss.

Doing college classes again after nearly 7 years of not doing any school. I thought I had grown beyond procrastination, but for the 5th or 6th time since classes started I am completing an entire week's worth of class assignments all the night they are due and my soul feels loose inside my body. It's rattling around in there.

Haha, your daily dose of fiber and fanfic, in one place! I'm glad you like the ideas. I don't have space in my life to write the fanfics myself, so if you bring them to life I would love to read them.

In the second arc things could get really serious with Emily and Jesse, brought closs together by the shared stress of the first arcs resolution. There would be both more intense romance vignettes, but also, to balance the stories out, flashbacks to before Jesse and Emily knew each other. Little moments that illustrate that they were made for eachother even before they met, and illustrate how much better their lives are together. They could range in time from the weeks just before the game (Emily starting to sense something big is coming, having to deal with both trench and darling going insane in different ways. Jesse hitchhiking her way back towards New York drawn by Polaris.) to YEARS AND DECADES earlier (Jesse's experiences in ordinary, whatever story you come up with for Emily's childhood, Jesse making her way in the world as a young adult, seeking out the supernatural in the world, Emily in college before being discovered by Darling).

do you guys have any fic ideas/prompts? I have like 2 in the works but I’d like some other ideas for when I’m not totally busy with schoolwork :)) huge fan of sappy shit but this year I wanna try writing out of my comfort zone/doing things I wouldn’t normally do so hit me!! Asks open!!

Honestly I think the first story would be something small. Like it would seem like a big deal when they hear about it but then it's rather simple to deal with. Comedy of errors type thing maybe. But it would leave room to focus on establishing their character dynamic. Then a couple mid-tier issues challenges to show how they work together under real pressure. Jesse would be be point using her powers to fend off threats, allowing Emily to perform tests on anomalies mid-action. When the action is just too overwhelming Emily could provide backup using black rock based weaponry that she's finally been allowed to develop. Then a climax at a world ending threat where one of them is put in serious risk of death or injury and must be saved by the other.

Maybe they succeed but the world becomes a little more aware of the paranormal and the next arc is about them being in the public eye for their prominent role in the action, or maybe they fall short, and the next arc is about them dealing with the consequences, healing the wounds and rebuilding.

Throughout the story you could have little vignettes of them, driving across the country to the next mission and chatting, flirting, in the car. Staying at an iffy motel, but luckily a light switch cord appears and they stay in the ocean view instead, because even if they can't get into any of the rooms sleeping on the couches in the lobby is better than the alternative. Or maybe there are flashbacks to quieter periods at the bureau, after the hiss threat. Maybe that's where you put the story parts about Emily's training.

Things I would like to see more discussion about regarding Alan Wake 2 #13: Tim Breaker, the man who was dragged to hell AND SETTLED DOWN THERE.

Whatever Alan struggles with, Tim had stashes set up. Tim has a room filled with light for Alan to catch his breath in. Tim is unrelelntingly cheerful despite finding himself in a warped ontological black hole. Tim is looking for the man whose face is on a FUCKING GIANT BILLBOARD you can see right out of Tim's initial hiding spot.

And Tim remembers at least something about being Jack Joyce, and Tim remembers Beth Wilder, and Tim apparently saw glimpses of Jesse Faden and Polaris.

I will bet you dollars to doughnuts Tim and Door are showing up in CONTROL 2, and it's gonna be so fucking weird because Tim likely gets some of Jack's infatuation with Beth, and I will knife a certain Finnish man if he doesn't turn this into an epic love triangle with Emily.
