Well this entire situation was.... unfavorable. Trapped on a boat full of civilians, sailing across miles of open water, something was bound to go wrong. But of what degree would this catastrophe be? Worst case scenario... the ship goes down and everyone drowns except Komaeda, leaving him to be made into an infamous disaster survivor and collect benefits from multiple charities. But that had already happened before... there was no way fortune would be so kind as to hand him such a fate twice in one lifetime. So really... there was no way of telling just how screwed he and everyone else might be. He wasn't too terribly worried though- no matter what happened, his survival was basically guaranteed.
He'd been so immersed in thought, he hadn't realized just how crowded the main hall had become. Everywhere he looked, there were people, swarming like gnats in the summertime, only about twice as irritating and ten times as loud. Maybe it wouldn't be so tragic if the ship went down after all...
In any case, he found these conditions to be unbearable, and he had to leave the room before they somehow became worse. BUT LO AND BEHOLD! As he'd been scurrying around in search of an exit, he'd felt something lightly slam into his back, followed by an unpleasantly cold sensation seeping through his clothes. He pat the back of his jacket, and sure enough, some lowly heathen had clumsily spilled their beverage on him. He turned to face the klutz, ready to spit in whatever was left of their drink, until he saw the illogical strawberry swirl hair of his fiancee.
"Chrono-kun...!" He said with a smile, his mood turning on a dime, "What a nice nice surprise, I was afraid I was going to have to get scary for a second there! What are you doing here?"
Whatever ill intent he'd had before was gone now. He'd still have to repay Chrono somehow for staining his clothes, but being married to Komaeda was punishment enough. No need to add insult to injury amiright?
don't think the money match is happenin [shofu voice] it is at the new yacht i want my money brah
Usually he wouldn’t really go to these kind of events, buteven so his family is going. He might as well tag along so he isn’t seen asrude, probably. Even so, this is an event for everyone… He presumes Komaeda will be here too. He hasn’t got to know the other boy as much during his time in Iunctum, but maybe this is a good time to do that?
He isn’t really sure what to expect, or to do! Well, they’re going to be in the same room for who knows how long, so yeah, it’s a given that the two will definitely get to know each other way more than just hanging out every once and awhile while in the city. That’s still not Chrono’s forte, sadly.
“Why… Am I here…” Is one of the first things he mutters under his breath as green eyes look at the main room where the speech ended, FILLED with people.
Before trying to find his fiancé, he gets a small cup of fruit punch from one of the buffet tables. Now, where could that boy be… Komaeda isn’t really a person you can miss, anyway. With that wild mane of his…
Well, speaking of that wild mane— above some of the heads in the crowd Chrono swears he thought he saw the boy walking through. Making his way down town. Walking fast. Faces past. Komaeda is YACHTBOUND.
“Hey! Komaeda, is that you?” What’s better to do than to yell for his fiancé in the middle of a crowded room? Nailed it! He pushes his way past a few event go-ers trying to make it to the other boy. Finally making it past most of the people, he finds his fiancé, he was about to call his name again to get the boy’s attention… But he trips over someone’s shoe! And there goes Chrono, falling forward, and what else goes? The punch of course, right at Komaeda’s back!
Smooth move Chrono.

Well, if there was anything to be said about this Ghirahim fellow, it was that he wasn't difficult to please. His smile, however unsettling, was somehow reassuring. If all he had to do was remain enthused over spending time together, fulfilling the role of a model son was going to be easier than he originally anticipated.

"Of course, I'm more than willing!" He said, heaving himself off the couch, "I just hope being in the company of someone as dull as myself won't bore you too terribly."
If he was being given a choice between calling him Dad or Father... he'd probably stick with the latter, as it sounded more formal. It fit somehow, since this man had a presence that seemed to demand some level of respect.
As he joined Ghirahim at the doorway, he could only stare blankly after hearing his suggestion. "Jacket?" He repeated, following with a light laugh, "Ah, what I'm wearing is all I have I'm afraid! But it should be fine, right? It's pretty unlikely that I'd get sick simply from cold. You don't have to worry about me."
There was actually every reason to worry because of those odds, but there was no need to say anything about that right now. He'd go through the explanation of his extreme luck after he felt more secure about their relationship.
shopping spree (komaeda)
With the world within the sky child’s grasp, and his master no longer existing there was little for him to do. Cause terror? It could be done. But it would not matter; his master did not exist in this city, and without any tomes on resurrection or ripping a tear in time and space, the plan would be a failure from the start.
A chuckle laugh leaves his lips at the boy’s enthusiasm to assist. He seemed more useful than his minions ever were, always failing him and too slow to stop the sky child. Of course, he’d love to be indulged with the term Father dear, but that seemed rather odd on his tongue. He offers a shrug to his son, dismissing his son’s apparent disrespect.
"I am pleased to know you’re willing," A smile curls onto his white lips, he sounds rather delighted. The list he holds onto, with a snap of his fingers disappears to else where, disappearing in a cloud of multicolor diamonds; thank goodness for magic, he thinks. "As for the way you address me, Father sounds pleasing on the ears." He recalls the words he spoke to the Hero, when they first fought; how nostalgic.
"Although, simply ‘Dad’ is fine, I am not that fussy, whichever you prefer is good for me."
With that out of the way, Ghirahim beckons his son to the door. They had enough time to travel there on foot, it was far from the time for closing. But, they teleport there instead. It was faster way to travel, but that would be after they left the building.
"Come along now, and you best get your jacket. It’s cold from what I’ve heard."

snow aint the only thing that's falling [open]
Komaeda had never been one to sensationalize Christmas, at least not that he recalled. Of course, that could be attributed to the fact that he had no one to celebrate it with, but the point remained- he'd usually let it come and go as any other day. Which is why he was rather surprised to find himself anticipating the holiday this year. Maybe it was because he had a family to spend it with this time around, or maybe starting a new life had given him a reason to try being excited about it for a change. Either way, this heightened holiday spirit had him doing all kinds of things he would normally turn his nose up at.
For example... gathering festive decor. No, not buying. Gathering. He'd yet to secure a job, and asking for money from his parents would mean taking money that could otherwise be spent on his gifts. So he'd taken it upon himself to obtain decorations without breaking the bank. In fact, he was on his way home from a particularly fruitful scavenge. Though his fingers were dripping blood from picking holly, his palms were sticky from the sap of pine cones and pine branches, and he had splinters in places he'd rather not speak of from climbing trees in search of mistletoe, he still carried a smile along with all of his treasures.
As he grinned down at the many plants and fungi in his arms and counted his loot, he failed to notice that he was on a collision course with another citizen until he felt the impact of their body. His precious decorations spilled from his arms and were scattered every which way as he fell on top of the poor passerby. They landed in a rather compromising position with Komaeda on top of the other, his scrawny form splayed over them completely. He groaned in pain and heaved his torso off of them, looking down apologetically.
"Ah- I'm sorry! That was my fault, I should have paid attention to where i was go-"
He fell silent as a movement from above caught his eye. He glanced upward, as it appeared to be something stuck in his hair. He had to blink a few times to make sure he was seeing it right, but as luck would have it, one of the fronds of mistletoe was dangling over him and the stranger from a lock of his hair. He was... impressed. A bit shocked, but impressed.
"Ahaha... what are the odds?" He laughed, completely nonchalant. After all, this was to be expected from someone of his circumstances!

--bring your son to work day [closed w/ ura]
Komaeda had never worked a day in his life. He never needed to. Even after the death of his parents, he'd always been financially secured by his inheritance and his lottery winnings from a few years back. He wasn't a particularly frivolous spender either, and really only purchased necessities for himself. Needless to say he was intrigued by the opportunity to actually observe a work environment. He still had not completely adjusted to a lifestyle where both parents had to work to provide for a family, and he was not opposed to seeking employment himself, if necessary. However considering his uncanny and unfortunate luck, he had some apprehensions...
Even so, it couldn't hurt to test the waters before jumping in right? This was his mentality as he stood at the door to the local tea shop where his father Ura worked. He had yet to formally meet his other parent, and shadowing him in his workplace seemed like a perfect way to kill two birds with one stone... somewhat of a learning experience as well as a father-son bonding opportunity.
It wasn't until he walked through the door that he realized a rather crucial detail- seeing as how they had not yet meet face-to-face... Komaeda had no idea what Ura looked like..
The shop was swarming with young folk... quite frankly it was difficult to tell children from adults... any one of these people could be the man he sought. Going from person to person asking if they were his father seemed incredibly tedious, not to mention embarrassing. He'd probably get shooed away more often than get an answer, or get kicked out for annoying customers. He saw but one solution, and pained him as it did, there really were no other logical options.
Sighing, he made his way through the shop until he came to the cash wrap counter. He proceeded to stand on top of it, and looked out over the clusters of people. How fortunate that no one had tried to stop him!
"In fact, it seems I'm being completely ignored... I wonder why that is..." He cleared his throat and inhaled, projecting his raspy voice as best he could.
"Excuse me...!" Any illusion of invisibility he'd had seconds earlier was certainly gone now, "Ah- Which one of you is my father? Which one of you is Ura?"
That should do the trick!

He couldn't remember precisely how long it had been since he'd last had a "family"... he'd completely forgotten how one was supposed to behave in the presence of parental figures, especially when the people in question were not there by their own free will. He didn't imagine either of his fathers could be too happy about their positions. Then there was his sister. At least when it came to his parents he had a basic understanding of his role as a child, but he was completely clueless on how to handle siblings. He didn't care to have another teenager in the house, as she might prove to be more troublesome than fun, and he was well aware that females in particular did not find him very appealing. He could think of a hundred reasons why that might be, but it didn't bother him enough to guess.
In any case, their was a general feeling of angst that had been lingering on him ever since his arrival in this city. He was so uncertain of his place in this family- in this entire setting, really. He pondered on the thought while he lay on the couch in the living room, brows furrowed and eyes fixated on the ceiling. Maybe he wasn't the only one who felt this way... Maybe his family shared the same anxieties? To think that every person under this roof might be plagued with such feelings... it made him shudder. But if this was indeed the case, then maybe his true purpose for being here was to eliminate those feelings! Perhaps he was meant to bring the benefits of their predicament to light, and give them hope in an otherwise hopeless situation!
Now he lay grinning in anticipation over his newfound role, engrossed in the idea of it... he just hoped that someone as lowly as himself would be up to the task. He was pulled from his thoughts by his name being called, and sat up to see his guardian Ghirahim looking at him expectantly. Though grocery shopping seemed like a minute place to start, he was nevertheless motivated by the opportunity.
"Of course, Dad! I'd be happy to help!"
He hoped he didn't seem to forward or eager. Maybe that wasn't the best response after all..
"Ah... I'm sorry," he said quickly after realizing his disrespect, "I should have asked permission before addressing you like that... do you prefer dad or father?"
shopping spree (komaeda)
Family. The word never quite sunk in with him, and he doubted that it ever would. He never had a need to consume and harvest food, nor was he ever seduced to sleep. However, being bound to these people, his appointed family members, there were a few times he felt the need to collapse. Demons feasted on a people’s inner most desires, their fears and their weaknesses and blood. To think, he would have to collect the food the sky child consumed made the demon lord laugh to himself. If the sky child saw him now, he’d probably laugh at him.
He never expected to have a human husband, and two human children. But here he is, sitting in his apartment, with a list in his gloved hands. He needed to feed them, to keep them alive and well. And this is why they needed to go out to the market to go retrieve some food and beverages, and whatever else was needed.
Ghirahim rises from the seat, pushes it in and goes to the entrance. The list itself was pretty long, so he definitely needed an extra hand––
Ah.
Not too far away stood his son: Komaeda; someone capable to help him. With Ura Alice out at work and their daughter Yachi out (Hylia knows where that girl went), Komaeda was the only one present at home. The Demon Lord strides over, and calls out to his son.
"Oh, Komaeda? You aren’t busy now, are you?” A white eyebrow is raised, “I’m going out to market, and may need an extra hand. Would you mind coming?”
Perhaps after the trip, they could hit one of the clothing stores. Because Demise knows he needs something other than, well whatever those things were called (Hoodies? That seemed right).
