You have done it, my friend. You have gotten through another day. You have succeeded, or you have learned. You have laughed, or you have become rejuvenated. You have done it, and yet another day awaits you tomorrow. Another beautiful day. Are you ready? -Nicole Addison

Controlling Emotions
To control your emotions you have to give up the idea of control. Emotions are part of your being. They are happening all the time. If you were able to control your emotions, you would be able to stop them. You would be able to choose which emotions to have when. If that were the case, you would always choose to be happy and you would have no problems. If you want to choose to be happy, you have to be able to handle the unchosen emotions like sadness, fear, or anxiousness. It is worth trying to control these emotions, because when they are out of control, they may conspire to ruin your life.
Controlling emotions is difficult because it’s hard to tell what is an emotion and what is supposed to be controlling it. When you experience fear, it takes you over. What is supposed to be controlling the fear is consumed by it. You can’t just make it stop, because you are afraid. You are fear. When you notice that you are fear, then you are no longer fear. You are something separate, safe, and  you have some control.
By paying close attention to your emotional highs and lows, you learn to see the pure emotion. The emotion is separate from you and it is separate from the thought, or story, that explains the emotion. If you are sad because your goldfish died, then you can experience sadness. The sadness is something different from you and it is something different from your goldfish dying. Eventually you will be happy and your goldfish will still be dead. That is only the current story attached to your sadness.
When you pay attention to your emotions, self, thoughts and stories, you come as close as you can to controlling emotions. Although you can’t pick when to feel what, you can put each emotion in its context, knowing that you are capable of surviving any and all emotions available to humankind. When you have learned to observe and find comfort in the difficult emotions, the easier emotion of joy will spring forth much more often, just like you wanted.

Hope for Humankind

CryptoNature tweet:
I think if you lived for eons and saw how it all rearranges and transforms again and again and again, eventually you would realize that inherent in the act of loving one thing is a love for all things. The whole, messy jumble of it all, each and every atom touched with adoration.
McKitterick retweet comment:
I want to believe this means that, once humans attain immortality, we'll transcend selfishness, greed, and self-destructiveness on the personal through ecosphere levels

“The ego’s greatest trick was convincing you that it does not exist by disguising itself as ‘you’ in order to avoid being discovered.”
-Anon I mus (Spiritually Anonymous)
The ego is the false idea/concept that we have created over time that represses any qualities that we don’t like or accept about ourselves.  This psychic parasite operates through the blind spots of our unconscious mind and continuously feeds on fears, conflict, confusion, deniability, sense of separateness, and limiting beliefs.

Any speculation, whether it's colored by the swelling of pride or the contraction of depression, gives strength to the idea of 'me'. The supposed thinker, the 'me', continually gathers and evaluates experience in an effort to strengthen itself (either positively or negatively). This gap between 'me', the thinker and the thought, between ‘you’ and your experience, creates the limitation of duality. There can be no radical change or a creative release until this gap dissolves. But this does not happen through effort. You must simply become aware of the gap and likewise aware that you isolate yourself by seeking validating experiences. If this awareness is pursued deeply and extensively, without seeking an end-goal, a maturation process ensues in which the gap between thinker and thought begins to narrow and merge. In this state of ease there is no effort, no becoming, no desire to change; it is a transformation which is not of the mind.

It’s okay to get lost in the things that you love. In nature. In music. In art. Why? Because you deserve it. You deserve to become completely consumed in the things that you love.

A girl and her horse ⚡️ I’m challenging myself to ride mostly bareback for the next few weeks in order to work on my balance! I realize how much I rely on stirrups for my weight distribution when I ride like this, which probably means I am sending mixed cues to Ruby.
