israel is now demanding that the al quds hospital is evacuated. the hospital currently holds 400 patients and 12,000 people seeking shelter. there is almost nowhere to go. israel has been conducting air strikes near the hospital for the last few days and this demand to evacuate is their ‘warning’ before they bomb it.

the patients cannot leave, plenty of them are in critical condition. healthcare is being targeted by israel and this is one of the last standing hospitals.

this is horrifying.

I have not been worn down in most of these ways. I have lived a remarkably privileged life. But I have been worn down in some ways. And they were enough to teach me that in the wrong circumstances, any of us can become someone we don't want to be. It's worth keeping that in mind.

Small things to drive your Femme wild

Make her an Autumn spice mix for her coffee/tea. I go to the local co-op's bulk spices section and do a combination of cinnamon, allspice, cloves, freshly ground nutmeg, ginger, and coriander.

Get her nail polish in a color she doesn't have, but that she wears a lot in clothing. Or a nice shimmery topcoat.

If she wears a necklace, take it in your hands to admire it. Then give it a gentle tug while you watch her face.

Get the door for her wherever you go (obviously)

Think ahead. Going out for a few hours? Bring a snack for her and keep it hidden until you notice she's hungry. The weather app says it's going to rain? Pull our her rainboots and umbrella.

Do things she wouldn't even think to ask you to do. Charge her headphones. Wash her car. Clean her glasses.

Cook for her. What does she like? Find a recipe and fiddle with it until she tells you it's the best she's ever had.

Stand close to her.
