Omg what's happening with Baekhyun? I am lost

a fan met Baekhyun at a fan meet and told him she had depression, and he comforted her and said something along the lines of “I don’t know what having depression is like, but I’m cheering for you”. this was fine and the fan was even comforted by his words!!! she said everything he said was very comforting and supportive

well, an “army” (you can’t even call them that) who translates bts posts and stuff took a snippet of this conversation (it was recorded as well) and mistranslated his answer and spread lies making it seem like he said he didn’t understand why people get depression and made it seem like he was saying people who do are crazy. basically, it made baekhyun look insensitive which is not at all what happened. i believe this person also tried to link it to jonghyun and that was really disgusting. everyone knows how close exo and shinee is, like this is happening in the aftermath so you can only wonder how deeply he felt about it.

the mistranslation got bigger and bigger and multiple koreans and other translators informed this person that they mistranslated it but apparently they didn’t change it or take it down till later?? even allkpop took the mistranslation and used it to make baekhyun look bad but by then it had spread and baekhyun actually saw it

so baekhyun made an instagram post apologizing to exo-l’s and saying that he hadn’t meant for his words to hurt them or anyone else that might have been affected by what he said, and that he would be more careful. he also talked about how when she had approached him and told him about her depression, he became scared and wanted to make sure that he could use what little time he had with her to comfort her correctly. all in all, baekhyun didn’t do anything wrong

all of this started because this “army” wanted to hate on exo and it was incredibly insensitive to do so, especially dragging Jonghyun into it. that’s probably the worst part of it all.

Hi, we’re a new K-Pop meme dump and moodboard blog. 

Meet the admins:

Admin Aurelia: I’m extremely self deprecating, love memes (so i make the meme dumps) and stan too many groups. My favorite groups (main ones I ramble about) are Seventeen, A.C.E, SHINee (Rest In Peace Kim Jonghyun, you worked hard, angel), all NCTs, Monsta X and B.A.P, somewhat EXO and BTS, Wanna One, GFriend, Red Velvet, BLACKPINK, and last but not least, Twice. I hate sasaengs and fan wars. I try to be as calm as possible. I’m a Gemini (the world’s most hated sign lol) and 20. I’m from Finland (that one country near Norway, Sweden, and Russia), but live in the United States. I play the violin and used to play the piano. Main biases are Minghao and Jun from Seventeen and Yeri and Seulgi from Red Velvet. I somewhat act like a mom toward maknaes (not like an angry mom but a proud mom) and would seriously adopt every NCT Dream child if SM was giving them away. I believe that idols can do whatever they want and shouldn’t be controlled by the public. If they want to date someone, they should go ahead, it’s their life and frankly none of our business. Nasty fans that cause fan wars and sasaengs should burn because we don’t need anymore drama in our lives.

Admin Rue: My full name is really confusing and sort of long so I shortened it down to Rue. I also like memes and is multifandom but I make moodboards because Aurelia says I’m trendy??? bitch where im like a dried and peeled potato. Anyway, I really love Lee Jihoon from seventeen and Woo Jinyoung in general and I also want to adopt the Chans from both A.C.E and Seventeen. (They’re separate people I’m sorry if i confused you) I’m also 20 and Pisces. I agree with Aurelia with all the fan war and sasaeng shit. I also swear but I think before I speak to make sure that it’s appropriate. I agree with Aurelia about idol’s lives too.  My appearance because Aurelia didn’t say what she looked like: I’m short (5′2.4″) and white. I have short brown hair and glasses that make me look like an angry librarian like the one from Monsters Inc. I have dry skin and never go outside except for winter because summer is disgusting ew its hot and sticky. Autumn is ok but I prefer winter.
