how long have they known @n1atruc ? ed isn't entirely sure, they've known one another for quite some time anyway, far before stede and the crew of the revenge had stumbled into his path. they'd gotten up to quite a bit of mischief in their time. that's the thing about pirates he supposes, chaos often brings people in and out of their lives like the tide, and much like the ocean waves there are times they are swept away, swept under, never to be seen again.
where the fuck you been?
“ 's a long story mate, don't know if you've got the time for it. ” there's hurt there, hidden behind the casualness of their demeanor. why would crowley care ? and then, why would edward care to tell him ?
“ though i've got quite a few tales to tell. . . ” don't leave. edward offers casually, asking him to stay without saying, he doesn't beg, blackbeard doesn't beg. doesn't fear people leaving . . . he's used to the tide by now.

anyway, people being surprised with the way ed is acting (so far) is wild to me, babygirl ( gender neutral ) they are not a good person, they fully admit to not being a good person, the way they acted with stede was said to be totally out of character by multiple members of his crew. izzy states blackbeard would have hated the revenge crew calling him ed, ed states that they used to cut people’s toes off and make them eat them for fun. the end of s1 literally tells you this is happening, it’s just now we are seeing the extent of it.
we started off seeing ed at his best and are now seeing him at his worst, that's the point.

idk who is a new follower and who is an old follower but things to know:
ed is so babygirl.
ed primarily uses he/they pronouns but is not opposed to she/her. they self identify as queer, however ! blackbeard / the kraken is their “masculine persona” blackbeard is the person ed has always been told they have to be and will 80% of the time use he/him ( this is more of a note about how i refer to ed, you can use any pronouns within threads, but preferably mixing he/they )
ed does not want to be blackbeard. they are exhausted by the persona they are forced to inhabit as him, they are bored and tired and genuinely unhappy as blackbeard.
ed is bisexual / biromantic, their attraction is very masc leaning. they are a flirt.
i will be talking quite a lot about edward and mental health as well as ed and gender / sexuality. ed’s relationship to stede is important, ed’s relationship with izzy is also extremely important due to their codependency.
religious trauma will be brought up on this blog, i apologize in advance.

i just think someone should look at blackbeard in all his violence and anger and see his hurt, i just think someone should look at him and cup his face like “you’ve had quite the time of it, haven’t you ? ”
i think ed needs it, they need this vast unlovable facet of themselves to be seen, truly seen, and shown that this part of them can be loved too.

PROMPTS FROM OCEAN'S ELEVEN * assorted dialogue from the 2001 film, adjust as necessary
you scared?
that is the sexiest thing i have ever seen.
it's not entirely about that.
you said that you sold this.
they weren't expecting that shit!
you guys are pros. the best.
you have lovely hands. do you moisturize?
you know, you lose focus in this game for one second...
why do you think i came to see you first?
if you ever ask me that question again, you will not wake up the following morning.
you want something to read? a magazine or something?
i lost something. i lost someone. that's why i'm here.
thirteen million and you drive this piece of shit cross country to pick me up?
i only have one?
apparently he's got a record longer than my... well, it's long.
why do they always paint hallways that color?
did you guys get a group rate or something?
okay. here's the problem. we're stealing two things.
i only lied about being a thief. i don't do that anymore.
i'm with someone who doesn't have to make that kind of distinction.
watch it, bud.
as you say, i was never charged.
you gotta walk before you crawl.
remind you of anyone?
funny, i never got a check.
how's the game going?
smash and grab job, huh?
you're a thief and a liar.
why not do this?
where the fuck you been?
play long enough, you never change the stakes, the house takes you.
i have a question.
longest hour of my life.
are you sure you're ready to do this?
don't call me a jackass.
it will be nice working with proper villains again.
be specific but not memorable.
ten oughta do it, don't you think?
i'm running away with your wife.
been practicing that speech, haven't you?
don't shift your weight.
say we get into the cage and through the security doors there and down the elevator we can't move, and past the guards with the guns, and into the vault we can't open...
you think we need one more?
i need the reason. don't say money. why do this?
does he make your laugh?
did i rush it? felt like i rushed it.
all right, you proved your point. you broke into my vault.
all right, we'll get one more.
come look at this.
it's not about that.
god, i'm bored.
i did just call you a jackass.
oh yeah, sorry, i forgot to mention that.
he doesn't make me cry.
no, it was good. i liked it.
let's get him out.
congratulations. you're a dead man.
tell me this is not about her, or i am walking. i am walking off this job right now.
you know what your problem is?
are you alive?
you get the cookies i sent?
that was our pleasure.
what do you have against him, that's the question?
don't think i don't know what you're doing.
that's why we're going to have to be very careful.
