His magnificent stride. He's ready for Adventure
I was trying to make a character that’s like a parody of those old Sonic-alike failed video game mascots but I accidentally just made crash bandicoot. Ah well

Monsters to watch in the coming decades
Scary animatronics: I think scary animatronics have real potential beyond just the FNAF franchise. People forget that not one but two cartoons (Gravity Falls and Regular Show) had scary animatronic episodes-- Scott Cawthon didn't just pull the concept for FNAF from thin air, he was clearly tapping into a broader cultural trend. Does M3gan count as a scary animatronic? Regardless, we're going to be seeing more of these.
'Slashers' as a discrete variety of undead: I'm talking about media that treats "masked undead serial killers" as a species rather than an individual phenomena. Hack/Slash is probably the most notable example of this, but I have a feeling we're going to be seeing a lot more of it. Prediction: the next media franchise to feature multiple types of monsters coexisting (think Underworld or Being Human) will establish "The Slasher" as its own thing with its own rules. I'd go as far as to say that masked killers will become part of general Halloween iconography in a few decades, alongside vampires and witches and all that. Slashers will eventually graduate from being actually scary and move onto being a signifier of spookiness. In the shorter term, Slashers-as-a-Species will have common "lore" and a set of "rules" (probably something along the lines of 'slashers are human serial killers who make deals with the forces of hell to stay on Earth so long as they inspire fear').
Toons: First off: scary clowns are OUT, they're ancient history. So who can take up the mantle of "corrupted childhood icon?" Enter toons. Kids raised on Bendy and the Ink Machine will be at prime PG-13-Movie-Ticket-Buying age pretty soon, and you're a mark if you think the horror-industrial complex isn't going to exploit that. I'm telling you, man, pie-eyed rubberhose cartoons are going to slide right into the niche that scary clowns recently evacuated. Just think of what a big wooden mallet could do to a human skull and you'll get the idea. Scary clowns, for their part, probably won't get the same dignified retirement into signifierhood that I predict for slashers. They're just gonna be gone (thank god, tbh).
