“Sweetheart do we really have to go?” 

You whipped around, buttoning up your coat as you glared at him. “Yes,” you hissed, “It’s your firm, we have to go.” 

Kylo groaned, stepping away from the closet. It was the annual Christmas party, and he had so lovingly put you in charge of it because he didn’t want anything to do with it. He actually just wanted to mail out the Christmas bonuses and then not speak to anyone, but it was his first year being the sole owner and you didn’t want everyone knowing he was a Grinch. 

He was, very much a Grinch. He didn’t want any decorations in the house, saying that it clashed with his style. He groaned when you made him cut down a tree, and carry it to his apartment. But he did smile as you forced him to decorate it with you, so its the small wins. 

Now you both were going to the ‘Winter on Ice’ staff party you scheduled, on a frozen lake. With an open bar, at a ski lodge, where you and Kylo had already rented a suite to stay the night in. 

“Booze and ice... what a good combination,” Kylo grumbled as you guys arrived. 

Everyone was so happy, waltzing around and cheering for the year of cases. It had been remarkable since Kylo took over, and cleaned house of all the past bad leaders. Making a better mark on the judicial system and the firms on reputation. 

Booze was flowing through everyone, getting handsy and joyous with one another. The only one who was a surprise was Kylo, he was probably 6 whiskeys deep and it was starting to show. Clinging to you like his life depended on it, shaking his employees hands even though they were petrified of him. He even cried a small bit when one of the secretaries hugged him, which you quickly broke up because she was a little too friendly. 

You and Kylo were standing to the side, watching everyone move about. His strong arms across your front as he kept you flush with his chest. One hand holding another glass as he swayed the both of you back and forth. You leaned your head into his chest, “You’re being so nice, you feeling okay?” 

“Mm,” Kylo took another drink, “Jus fine my love, feeling good.” 

“You’re slurring Kylo.” 

He laughed, downing the rest of him drink, looking to the side to see where he could drop his glass. You giggled, grabbing it from him before he let it shatter on the ice. “Do you wanna go inside baby?” 

Kylo shook him head, placing his forehead against yours and rubbing his nose across your own. “Nopee. I want to stay right here with you.” You giggled at him, he was being so sweet. But also on the verge of making a fool out of himself, in front of all his coworkers. 

“I think we should get you to bed,” you pulled away from him. Yanking on his wrist to whisk him to the hotel. Kylo wagged his eyebrows and licking his lips, “Are you trying to get me to sleep with you?” 

“Kylo.” 

He shook his head, pulling away and laughing again, “I’ll have you know I have a girlfriend.” 

You clucked your tongue, crossing your arms over your chest as you watched him attempt to walk out on the ice. Shoes sliding just a little as he ventured to get more to drink. “I hope she’s strong enough to lift you when you fall!” 

“She’s strong enough to handle me on top of her when I fuck the daylight out of her!”
