Halloween night

Halloween night is one of the greatest things organized in my school and it was practice to organize it for years.

I have never participated in Halloween night mostly because I was ashamed, but this was the first time that Halloween night was in my class organization so I had to participate and I do not regret it at all!

We all wore costumes, brought food and made invitations for our teachers. We all had a great time, especially because teachers were very relaxed and friendly.

Thanksgiving Day

Thanksgiving Day dinner is organized in my school every year as I know, but this was my first and the last time participating in it. 

We were supposed to make anything that we can bring to school and organize dinner for about twenty people. That is a lot of cooking if you ask me and my debit was to make cookies so I have decided to make classical american chocolate cookies.

It was very funny evening and it gathered us, people from my class since it was the time of year when we just met.

Altogether, great experience!

Cookie day

Cookie day is organized at my school almost every year and it means that it is a day when we all make cookies and sell them at the school hall. This selling always has some honorary purpose, for example, collecting money for school trips for people that are not able to afford the trip to themselves. 

The thing is that besides being creative and learning how to cook, you are aware that with that small contribution you can help many people and make them happy. That is exactly what makes this activity as beautiful as it is.

Rafting

Beside hiking that I have mentioned earlier, I have forgotten one more sports activity that I just adore. Rafting!

River, good company, adrenalin, canyon, beautiful landscape.. is there anything better than that? I went for rafting many times, but this was the only time that counted as my CAS activity. 

Beside great company and one of the best days in my life, I got a chance to experience one more thing when it comes to rafting and that is lowering through the canyon without the bout at some point. What an adrenalin!

Museum of Contemporary Art

I am a great lover of art so I find volunteering in Museum as a great opportunity for me to develop my self in every sense.

Since I have Visual Arts as one of my subjects on IB, my whole group was called to volunteer at the museum for a couple of hours because one great artist came to our town to have her exhibition.

The main theme of the exhibition was “freedom” and she made birds out of metal on whose wings some message of freedom was supposed to be written. This means that besides meeting a great artist, we got a chance to be part of her exhibition that was posted all around the world, not just in Banja Luka.

Play and learn

This activity is my favorite and the longest activity I have done so far. Not that it was just my favorite activity when it comes to CAS but it was probably one of the greatest and one of the most useful experiences in my life.

The thing is that I was volunteering in one children's playroom in one city mall. I was volunteering there for the whole summer, which means I was going there every day and was spending around 3 hours each day, except Sunday, with kids.

It was one wonderful experience, mostly because my main task was to teach these kids English and how to paint.

Not just that this was an experience that I will never ever forget, but it was the time that I felt as a kid myself. Great energy, a lot of work and laugh marked this experience in the first place.

Science fair 2017

Science fair is festival that is held every year in Banja Luka in so called “Dom Omladine”. 

Science fair in 2017 was my first experience on something similar and it was stunning. The group of me and my friends that are attending Biology classes were called to be on biology-stand and to present to visitors all the great things that people from Banja Luka did when it comes to Biology. 

It was not just experience of me teaching others but it was an experience of others teaching me and I liked it very, very much.

BalMUN 2017

BalMUN is actually one of the greatest experiences that I have ever had. It is held in Banja Luka every year somewhere in April, it depends on every year.

It is the time of year when every student is revolving around the BalMUN and that time of a year when there are many, many students in our school from all around the world.

Because of that, I have decided to be a host to one girl from Norway. She stayed at my place during the all of three days of the conference and it was such a great experience.

She is also attending IB, and her name is Sine. We had a lot of things to talk about and many common interests. This means that, besides one great experience that balMUN itself takes with it, I have made one great friendship with Sine and all the other people from her school.

Hiking around RS

I am not a very sport person, but if there is anything for what I could say that I love that would definitely be hiking. Because of my love for it, I have decided to explore a bit of my own country, more precisely everything around my town.

I have decided to make people, that I spend a lot of time with, go hiking with me around places such as National park Kozara or Canyon Krupa etc.

In two months I went every weekend- Saturday and Sunday for hiking. Type of activity:

Cueva del Dragon

Cueva del Dragon or so called Dragon cave is cave in Mallorca, more precisely on a mountain called Tramuntana.

I spent ten days in Palma de Mallorca and it was one of the greatest experiences, not just because of the hiking around the Tramuntana and Dragon cave but because of the many educational things revolving around this mountain and the great concert that we were attending in the heart of a cave.

European Day of Languages

European Day of Languages was held in Grammar School in Banja Luka on the September 26th. It was such a great exoerience especially because almost the whole school was involved.

What our task was, is to choose some country ( in Europe, of course) and to make some local dishes. We had a fair in school and we all were on different stands. We all had a task to make some local food or different kinds of characteristic of that country that we chose. Of course, each booth had at least 2 or 3 people. I was on Germany booth with 2 of my colleauges. We made couple of local meals ( such as sausages, Bavarian pretzel etc.) and brought also some local drinks. But, we also had their flag on our booth and folk costume. Also, one of my colleagues was wearing that folk costume. 

The main goal was to celebrate European Day of Languages on one inovative and different way. We shared meals to all visitors and also had teaching event organised. It was such a great experience for both, us and visitors.
