i'm so i'm soooo obsessed with the idea of jean being so hungry, deprived, and desperate for jeremy. just so much pent up need and want for him bubbling over that when they first kiss jean is diving lips first and bodying jeremy against a wall. smacking their heads together a little, jeremy letting out a soft "oof" that jean swallows. teeth clicking, spit on chins because it's so messy and jean just wants all of jeremy. every little inch of his mouth. and he's so tense because he's so nervous, his hands almost ripping jeremy's shirt to shreds in his desperation to hold on with a white knuckled grip.

and jeremy, breath caught in his throat, huffs out a laugh into jean's mouth. he lets jean do his thing before cupping his jaw and slowly easing him back until there's a fraction of distance, a tiny web of saliva connecting their bottom lips. but jeremy is smiling, beaming, his jaw aching a little from how wide he opened his mouth to welcome jean in. but it's a good ache. the best ache. he smooths his lips against jean's and exhales a soft "like this, jean" and then pecks jean's lips. once. twice. three times. the fourth is a longer press. so is the fifth. it's more audible too. on the sixth jean presses back. his eyes aren't clenched shut anymore, but they aren't open either. and the tension is seeping out of his jaw under jeremy's fingertips.

jeremy tilts his head and goes in again, this time taking jean's upper lip between his own and sucking softly, letting jean take his bottom lip. jeremy breathes out through his nose and moans very softly. then it's a little peek of the tongue, tasting jean's lips. jeremy pulls back. smiles wide. does it again. and again. jean copies him. then, because jeremy has timed it perfectly, both their tongues catch each other and it's a delicious warm wet slide that has jean sighing so beautifully against jeremy he feels it in his own body. and so they do it again. and again. a little faster. a little more frantic. until oxygen is inevitably needed. but jeremy can't stop smiling and he can't stop pecking jean's lips while he catches his breath. and jean doesn't stop him either. won't stop him. not then. not ever.

and then we cut to jean sitting in the bed at abbie's, its completely silent (other than maybe a faint ticking), hes all bandaged up and terribly bruised, staring down at his hands in anger as the camera slowly zooms in, then he looks up and his own voice (in voiceover) says my name is jean moreau. i belong to the moriyamas. my place is at evermore. i will endure.

cue intense music with a sick beat and cut to several things happening at once: jean throws a punch, renee's necklace dangling above his palm, jeremy almost crashing his car, (idk man theres too many good ones 😭)

cut! quieter now, camera follows neil silently lowering to a crouch in front of jean (who we can barely see), imitating a gun to his head with his fingers, "pop. how easily these monsters die in the end."

music is back and we keep flashing between a bloody jean in two different bathtubs- then kevin is in front of him: "you made me a promise." / "fuck you. you have no right to hold me to it." / "but i will."

last cut is jean walking onto court in USC gold and red, in voice over he says my name is jean moreau. if i am not a raven, who am i?

As someone who studies library science i fight the constant battle of "do I out myself as a nerd gremlin just to gush about the ao3 tagging system right now"

at a conference I attended recently, a researcher pointed to the difficulty of finding material in archives because so much depends on the metadata and the terminology used to describe things changes over time. "it would be so helpful," the researcher said, "if I typed 'lesbian' into the library of congress database, it would also show me results that were categorised in the 50s, when the materials were interpreted as 'intimate female friendships'"

which is what tag wrangles at Archive Of Our Own do incredibly effectively: searching for "omegaverse" also leads to "alpha/beta/omega dynamics" and "alternate universe: a/b/o" and so on. but ao3 achieves this frankly incredible categorisation and indexing system by the power of countless volunteers putting in hours and hours of unpaid and unthanked free time, and it's completely understandable that most archives do not have that kind of infrastructure, but also how incredible that a fan-run website has better searchability, classification, and accessibility than the library of congress

All that EXCEPT, everyone knows Jean is gay (well, bi, but we all know patriarchy prioritizes attraction to men). His whole reputation as a "whore who slept himself through the backline" or whatever it was is common knowledge.

Was that a way for Riko to control Jeans reputation/ make sure he stays in his place?

I had a long post written up about Jeremy being out and Nicky not knowing + Kevin still saying to everyone that being gay will destroy their Exy career while having been friends with Jeremy for years and wanting him to be Court + Kevin and Jean still believing Riko's homophobia even when faced with a blatant example of a great, respected player who is also out and proud.

Except I realized that of course Jeremy is, in essence, not out. Sure, right after he was found at the party kissing/having sex with Dexter etc, the media outed him (per his words in TGR, the police and media called it "f***** orgy"), but the Wilshires made sure that it wouldn't be something that stuck, along with making sure that the drugs and Jeremy's addiction never became public.

Jeremy tells Jean about the huge amount of money they spent to make sure the police stayed quiet, Dexter stayed quiet and took the blame. Of course they also, inevitably, milked Noah's death and their grief for all they were worth to get sympathy points in society and politics. It's very very easy to picture them also bribing people into "forgetting" about Jeremy's outing and changing the narrative to "just a phase" or "college experimentation". It was after all 2004.

God but I hope Jeremy tells his family to fuck off soon in The Broken Cage.

And I still want an Canon divergence AU in which Jeremy and Nicky manage to meet and bond before TFC.

Buff Andrew buff Andrew

People on the team who try to spot him live in fear. Matt can, a few others can kinda but I’m living for Matt being Andrew’s main spotter and then having a kinda mutual semi friendship about it

Matt coming up to Andrew randomly before or after practice to show him work out videos, offering to teach him boxing strats, and everyone expects Andrew to just stare at him blankly or threaten him for being within 2 feet of Andrew’s personal space but Andrew peeks over at the phone and just nods “alright, we can try that next practice” “are you free Tuesday evening? I don’t have class” “would that work modified for a different machine, we don’t have that one?”

Dan and Allison are in awe, Nicky is worried and horrified, but Aaron knows that w him and Matt dorming he’s gotten a lot more used to “being with the monsters” and seen when Andrew will randomly break in to throw a granola bar at Aaron’s head, flip him off, steal Aaron’s drink, then walk out without a word like a feral cat and since then Andrew has lost 75% of his intimidation powers against him

Im currently rereading all the books (once again) and am STUNNED at Neils ability to orient himself basically anywhere, compared to Jean who would've gotten lost at the airport without Wymack.

What Im saying is i want Jean to get lost and desperatly trying to find his way home, look for familiar landmarks, all that jazz. I think itd be neat.

Do you think Jean will leave alone at some point in The Broken Cage?

I get the impression it's the only point where he hasn't made any progress yet.

I think he will… Because there will be urgent circumstances, and he'll run off alone without realizing it. Or he realizes it, he's scared, but this is more important.
