Tahajjud in Islam

A believer offers Namaz for the remembrance of Allah Almighty. So that he may get the blessing of Allah and get his help in the time of need. There is two type of Namaz in Islam. First is the one which is obligatory and the second is the one which is not obligatory it is also known as Nafal.

Nafal is an Arabic word which means “something extra” so if we will offer the Nafal we will get its reward and if we don’t then nothing. But offering them is included in the Sunnah of the Prophet (P.B.U.B).

There are several Nafal Namaz in Islam but the Namaz of Tahajjud has more significance. It is a prayer offered at the mid-night. It comprises of 2Rakat Namaz. It has a great Importance and significance in Islam. Its importance and significance in the light of Quran and Hadiths are as follow,

Importance and Significance in the light of Quran:

The significance of the Tahajjud in Quran as follows,

“And from the night, pray with it as additional for you it is expected that your Lord will resurrect you to a praised station”.

Importance and significance in the light of Hadiths:

Keeping in the view the importance and the significance of the Tahajjud prayer in the Quran the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) used to spend his mid-night in the praying of Allah Almighty. He used to offer the Namaz of Tahajjud most frequently.

There are many hadiths about offering and importance of the Tahajjud some of them are as follow,

“During the mid-night, Allah Almighty comes to the first sky and say “is there someone to worship me? Is there someone who ask me for something?” indeed the dua at the time of Tahajjud is surely fulfilled.”

This hadith tells the significance of the Tahajjud prayer that dua at that never gets drop out. And Allah himself comes to the people as says them to pray and at the time the one who will raise his voice for prayer will become dearer to Allah.

On the other place it has been narrated by the Abu Hurrara as follow, Ones the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) that,

“when a person motivate himself and get up for Wudhu one Knot is loosened, when he washes his hand one knot is loosened, when he washes his face one knot loosens and wash is head one knot loosens and then he stands up for the prayer all the knot are loosened then Allah says to Angels. “Look at my slaves they had overcome their nafaz and offering the prayer grant them what they need.”

From this, we can see that the prayer and wish at the time of the Tahajjud is never sand. So we must all stand up for the Tahajjud. To make Allah happy with us and get is blessings.
