“Profile pictures of men who are not looking directly at the camera and who are not smiling are judged to be very attractive.” (Billedo, 2010) One of my favorite profs in UP ever. :)
Dahil mula nung tumungtong ako sa UST eh nahirapan na ko kumuha ng candid photos. Ang hilig magpose ng mga tao, nakakaloka. :|
This is a must watch for everyone who would like to see how UP professors can be intellectually engaging, and still be awesome in the process.
But I’m still not changing my profile pic.

Bohemian Nation's Favored Coffees and Beans (BoNa Coffee Company)
The first thing I did over the weekend was to skip through the whole Saturday's worth of review classes for a full afternoon's worth of well-deserved R&R get-away at our house in Paranaque. It's not much of a break, actually, it's more like I went to my room, shoved my bag somewhere and instantly flopped onto my bed for a nap of well-intented intentions. Yep, I'm harmlessly self-centered like that. =) My nap was short-lived when my younger sister decided to have us go out for coffee at this cafe my brother and her have been hooked on. And well, what can I say? The moment I stepped into the store, I was instantly hooked. Hello thar, wonderful cafe, meet your new avid customer. The Bohemian Nation's Favored Coffees and Teas, also called BoNa for short, is just the most majestic cafe among all other majestic coffee shops *slash* hangout place. Tucked in a hidden spot in the bustling commercial area of BF Paranaque is a haven for everything, well, Bohemian - well, not really, but the coffee and ambience there are sure to make your senses go wild. It's cozy, heart-warming, and surely classy in terms of everything. The price is surely well worth every peso. The layout is very eccentric - a hand-painted wall image of Buddha watches over, as plush and comfy felt cushion armchairs and stunning black leather couches surround the interior. The whole room is dimly lit with shaded lamps and dim ceiling lights that give one the impression of relaxed eccentricity. A large wall mirror leans in exquisitely by the couches, adding more to the stylish elegance of the place. I'd be picturing poetry readings and bongo drums upon lit smoking incense sticks also being in the picture but then again, that'd be too much. XD There's a wide array of coffee and tea concoctions available to please even the most picky and snobbish of customers, and when I say tons, I do mean TONS. BoNa prides itself of being the only coffee shop in the metro who makes layered coffee concoctions - a must try is the amaretto mocchaccino and the hazelnut latte, which looks more like a cocktail drink than a coffee treat. All drinks are made with low, non-fat skim milk, accompanied with the best of flavored syrups provided by Monin - French company provider of syrups for the World Barista Championships. And for those nationalists out there, get this - all coffee beans that they use are Philippine-grown! From beans grown from Benguet to Bukidnon, you name it, the selection is set coming only from local lands. Downside of it, though - no decaf (decaffeinated coffee are all imported products). As if I care. =) Aside from the coffees and teas, there's also a wide array of eats to choose from! Savor their hearty muffins freshly baked daily, or their delightful oatmeal or chocolate chip cookies, or choose from their wide selection of sandwiches made from only the highest quality of meats, greens and breads that always have you craving for more. What's best about BoNa coffee is the wonderful service crew. Need a new friend? Go and talk to a BoNa barista! BoNa Coffee Co. makes sure that every customer feels as if they're part of the family, and everyone is ready to befriend you, sit and chat, and maybe even play a round of cards or even a game of soccer just outside the lot. I personally got lucky to have become friends with kuya Dodie, the head barista for the night team of the BF Homes branch (the pilot branch of the franchise), who took no time into sharing with me stuffs about the cafe. Aside from the very friendly crew that always make you feel like a kabarkada (or kapuso, or whatever), the cafe branches provide you with free wi-fi access for all your browsing needs. No laptop? No problem! All branches also have a public desktop that is available for internet use by anyone in the cafe. No downloading of any kind with the desktop, though. XD As said earlier, BoNa Coffee Company is a full supporter of the Philippine coffee growers, and supplies their stores with only the best quality of locally grown coffee beans. There are also various merchandises to choose from, from coffee mugs and vacuum flasks to shirts and even stuffed toys that always satisfy the afficionados. Amazing to note that part of their sales go to their Lifeline Foundation, set to do missions all around the country. Kuya Dodie mentions a medical mission done sometime last month with the proceeds, and we hope to hear more. Wonderful ambience, delicious local coffee and tea selections, and most friendly and welcoming service crew. What more can you ask for in a cafe? Drop by BoNa's stores and be amazed. Move over, Starbucks, a new 100% local coffee company is gonna wipe you out of the Philippine seas. Bohemian Nation's Favored Coffees and Teas have branches located at BF Homes, Paranaque, at Westgate, Alabang, and at SM Mall of Asia. Soon to open is a new branch at Sta. Rosa, Laguna. For more info, visit their website at http://www.bonacoffeecompany.com.

Asami's Farewell Party @Recipes, Trinoma 3-16-09
gilid ng mukha ni Kazura Iyak ang wallet. 300+ per person ang bill! Leche. Oh well. (haha, as if)
