He became involved with music just before the turn of the Millennium. Romania, at this time, was still in post-communist transformation and an underground music scene was just beginning to bubble. Growing up in Sibiu, Transylvania, Iulian organised underground mobile raves for over two years. It didn’t take long for him to learn to DJ and earn himself a residency at Chill Out, a 300- capacity venue that quickly developed a cult status across Romania. He continued playing there all night long each Wednesday until 2008, becoming a well-known and widely respected selector on home soil. He’d also warm up for guests on the weekend provided he wasn’t booked elsewhere. It was a formative part of his career. During this time, Iulian also started Electrique Boutique with Markus Homm. Opening in 2004, it became one of the country’s first ever record stores — though it struggled because the scene was very much in its infancy. There were not many DJs in Romania and only a few of them were into buying records. It closed down in 2007. Yet it proved to be a valuable experience. Using this musical knowledge and the connections he developed, Iulian continued DJing and won various awards along the way. He began travelling outside of Romania around 2006, and he continues to play through Europe and the Americas today, showcasing a sound that sits somewhere between house and techno, with strong Detroit roots. He is signed to the Sunrise Booking agency. Iulian began experimenting with production in the late ‘90s while studying computer science. By 2005 he had started to take music production “seriously,” and his first release landed in 2008 as Hermannstadt Collective — a collaboration with Mihai Popoviciu and ToyGUN. His debut solo EP landed soon thereafter on Smoke City Music, presenting Iulian’s deep and organic sound. Further releases have since arrived thick and fast, including a 2012 EP featuring a Petre Inspirescu remix and a 2017 LP titled ‘Vrăjitorul din Orz.’ The six-tracker was the result of a “production spree” inspired by a two-year spell during which Cazan sought fresh inspiration. “I just felt like I was doing the same thing over and over again,” he explains. His 2016 ‘Paloșul’ EP as Iovan Iorgovan was written around the same period. Elsewhere, Iulian runs the Stomping Grounds label and the Vade Mecum sub-label. The former is focused on “timeless music,” hence it sees around only one release per year. Also she using analog synthesizers for her life performances. V ka (Vika) was born in the Central part of the Russian Federation during the collapse of the USSR in 1990. Now she lives in Moscow. Directly her DJ career began in 2008, when she studies the skills of DJing in the city of Yekaterinburg. Her talent does not go unnoticed by promoters and party makers. So in a short time she becomes a resident, and also a welcome guest of various Russian festivals and parties far beyond her hometown. Over the next ten years, V ka travels with her music beyond Russia: China (Shanghai, Zhangjiagang, Wujiang, Suzhou), India (Goa, Calcutta, Pondicherry, Delhi), Sweden (Stockholm) Germany (Berlin clubs GoldenGate, Sisyphos, Ritter Butzke, Chalet, Anomalie also Feel Festival 2017) Mixtapes of V ka play on Moodytech radio (Romania), Mondobongo radio (Greece), YourRadio (Israel), FLAT FM (Russia), Better Be Nice afterhours (Austria) and etc. Vika shared the stage with international musicians like Sven Vath, Ada Kaleh, Butch, Lee Jones, Truncate, Marc Depulse, Matthias Kaden, Nikita Zabelin, Oliver Kolezki, Sandra Mosh. Luigi’s music has so far been released on the established label Dynamic Reflection as well as setting a regular cooperation with the very promising and mysterious techno label Hypnus Records from Sweden, where he found a platform that inspired him to develop his style. Melting the tribal and hypnotic elements of techno with the atmospheric and emotional side of ambient music he is making his own path in the world of electronics. Recently this has gotten him in contact with Dino Sabatini which led to the opportunity to join Outis Music that has released well known artists such as Modern Heads, Brando Lupi, Donato Dozzy among others.

Growing up in the nineties, he witnessed, first-hand, the golden era of hip-hop and spent his formative years as a producer making hip-hop beats before making the transition to house music. Diego is co-owner of the Beste Modus imprint, with his partners Cinthie, Stevn.aint.leavn and Ed Herbst and he runs with cinthie also, Unison Wax , as an outlet for his own productions. He recently released a killer EP with Apollonia, entitled ‘Right About Now’, and has released original material and remixes on Adult Only, Organic Music and Rough Recordings. Diego’s sound is influenced by funk and soul, garage, deep house and everything in-between that is both underground and raw. He has taken his sounds all over Europe and beyond – playing at clubs like Watergate and About Blank in his hometown Berlin along with appearances in Lyon, Strasbourg, Paris, Zurich and more… His DJ-sets are powered by driving basslines with a raw nineties texture and techy flourishes, while always retaining a groovy, jacking vibe.
