I dug up these never seen before progress shots of this painting (swipe to see them all). I started with a warm ground so that it would show through the textured white background a bit (like at the bottom). I used foundation white for the textured impasto in the background. My painting “Centrifuge” is included in the New York Academy of Art’s Summer Exhibition. It was juried by Joeonna Bellorado-Samuels, director of Jack Shainman Gallery; Andrea Scott, art reviewer for The New Yorker; and Alia Williams, director of Jeffrey Deitch Gallery. It’s an honor to be included in this virtual exhibition alongside the work of Alicia Brown, Alonsa Guevara, Stephanie Deshpande, Buket Savci, Nancy Hollinghurst, Michelle Doll and so many other notable artists. I’m excited that this painting is going to be in the Summer Exhibition @flowersgallery in New York City of work by @newyorkacademyofart alumni and students. It’ll be available and online soon!
