Love has something to do with the notion of being seen — the opposite of invisibility. To truly see someone — anyone — is an act that acknowledges and forgives our common and imperfect humanity. Love says softly — I see you. I recognize you. You are human, as am I.
- Nick Cave

What is destined for you is far greater than what you desire. This is why surrender is essential.

I make dua and I don't stress over how it will come to be, for if Allah has guided me to make dua, then surely the answer will come with it

It's so incredibly scary that nothing is hidden from Allah, but it’s also so comforting as well. No matter how unjust someone is, no matter what u are accused of or viewed as, no matter what the world has to say about you, Allah knows what we have been through, he knows us, he knows our intentions and our hearts, our psychology and our pains, worries & fears better than we do.

“Gabriel said, ‘And we angels descend not except by the order of your Lord. To Him belongs that before us and that behind us and what is in between. And never is your Lord forgetful –Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them –so worship Him and have patience for His worship. Do you know of any similarity to Him?’”—Quran, 19:64-65

"Grace in behaviour is a sign of spiritual chivalry (futuwwah). When Kharraz was asked about chivalry, he answered, 'To forget what one knows, to show patience against the wishes of one's ego, to give up expectations from others, not to want, not to expect thanks and rewards, to be generous, to hide one's own spiritual state (in humility, lest one make pretensions), and to be modest."
― Sulami (d. 1021 CE), Kitab al-Futuwwah, trans./ed. Tosun Bayrak (Vermont: Inner Traditions, 1991), 68.

I read a hadith today which is explained by Syed Abdul Qadir Jilani reminding us that dua is ibadah (worship). That we should ask Allah often but instead of being attached to the outcome we should focus on the reward dua brings. It is a calling to our Creator and we are showing our need and at best admiration of Him. On the Day of Judgment and in Paradise thereafter, we will be in awe of all the good deeds written in our favor and when we show our surprise, we will be reminded that these were the duas that went unanswered in this life.

“As a doctor, let me tell you what self-love does: It improves your hearing, your eyesight, lowers your blood pressure, increases pulmonary function, cardiac output, and helps wiring the musculature. So, if we had a rampant epidemic of self-love then our healthcare costs would go down dramatically. So, this isn’t just some little frou-frou new age notion, oh love yourself honey. This is hardcore science.”
