Week 9-Team Sprint
Today the second to last presentation, i was absent due for medical appointment, but reading through the feedback we have received from the tutors and from the group itself that it went extremely well. Mark mentioned about the rocking sentry as interesting element to the exhibition, which was still being looked into and Jane mentioning about publicity, wondering if making an open call to members of the public could appeal to their individual war stories. As in the deck chair design go, i would use my soldiers illustrations and Jane would focus on using the regimental colours in her design.

Week 4-Football Badge
Our speaker was Ian Cherry, who tasked to design our own football badge. Growing up, i liked playing football as a one off with friends and family, only been to one football match but it never was my thing. I took the inspirations from the Liverpool and Cove Rangers F.C. badge and combined the two. I can say that this was least enjoyable for me.

Week 10-Final Presentation
Day of the final presentation, we began discussing how our pitch begins with an audio track introducing a soldier sharing his experience in an event during his time during the war. This also offers a fresh perspective on the soldiers’ story gallery story space. It has been mentioned that the illustrations took an important role in the branding. The image of the faceless soldiers shows quite powerful and significant as it allows the visitors to picture and think about the soldiers identity and image their own face within the image. Overall As a group, Jane, Mark and I worked really well with pooling our resources together, it was a shame that we didn’t get much support from Michal and Antonin.

Week 8-Team Sprint
In this session, we did held a 10 minute power point presentation to show our progress. In doing my part, i was tasked to do illustration of soldiers from the 9th/12th Regiment, The Sherwood Foresters and the Derbyshire also including the regimental ties and and logos. These will be added onto the deck chairs. Our aim was to improve interactivity by having photo opportunity spots, with props throughout the gallery space, e.g. where visitors would put on a helmet and stand in a sandbag trench

Week 3-Favourite Artist
I’d like to talk about why Roy Lichtenstein and Osamu Tezuka are my favourite artist and there’s one reason, it’s because their style of work. Lichtensteins artworks explodes in my face with bold, bright, full of action and powerful colours, whereas Tezuka’s work is calm and gives me the feeling of a relaxed sensation. My strong love in comics and cartoons led me into researching these two artist and their work which gives me inspirations and ideas that i can use in my future projects

Week 5
This week, our guest speaker was comic creator and illustrator Karrie Fransman who gave us her perspective in working as a professional comic creator. She tasked us a challenge of creating a short comic set in my surroundings. I have chosen to set the scene in my flat and based it from a first person horror game which lead to asking so many questions until finding the answer.
