My Beliefs

The Basics:

I call myself an Eclectic Goddessian:

Eclectic means "a person who derives ideas, style, or taste from a broad and diverse range of sources," or "not confined to or following any one model or system."

Goddessian means "someone who worships/honors the Goddess or Goddesses." Essentially, it is someone who follows a Goddess Religion.

More In-depth:

I believe the Great Spirit, Supreme Deity, Creator (whatever title you want to use) is completely sexless/genderless- not actually male or female.

However, I choose to use female metaphors and pronouns- She, Her, Goddess, Great Mother, Great Goddess, Mother Goddess, Mother God, and various Goddess related names and epithets.

Using only female metaphors and pronouns for Her makes the most sense to me since She, metaphorically speaking, gave birth to everything by way of cosmic parthenogenesis.

Using only female metaphors and pronouns for Her does not mean She is only "feminine" or that there is not a "masculine" side to Her. She is all: darkness, light, feminine, masculine, chaos, order, love, pain... The list is endless.

I am also a Panentheist. Thus, I believe She is in everything and everything is in Her, but she is also transcendent.

She is Nature, the Cosmos, and all that we can experience with our senses. However, She also extends beyond Nature, the Cosmos, and all that we can experience. She goes beyond all space and time, all of this universe and any others.

She has no beginning or end, and has no creator. She is the Eternal One, the One and Only, the Absolute, the Supreme Deity.

All other gods, goddesses, spirits, or divine entities (such as angels) are simply emanations, aspects, or "energy currents" of Her.

How lovely! The fact that there are 7 statements is especially auspicious 💖 I would think from top down, they might correspond to Mati, Candre, Sucri, Raya, Rhavë... Raya again?... and Thamë.

(If I were to make it even I’d give “laugh a lot” to Vikhë, but that’s more my personal connection to/understanding of her. This is all just my speculation of course 😄)

I bought this wood sign (that I dressed up for this picture, of course! lol) a few years ago, and it definitely feels like it has a "Teachings of the Daughter" vibe to me, now that I know Her and have Her in my heart. I keep it on the altar in the living room so I can see it every day and feel Her speaking to me and giving me Her words of wisdom.

One of the biggest power moves I have here in the midwest when someone is being racist, sexist, homophobic is that I tell them that I’ll pray for them so that god can grace them with empathy, or that “I feel sorry the devil has made his home in your heart” cause you have not felt joy until you’ve flipped the script on a suburban house mom or an old racist white man.  The joy of watching their face in shock and confusion while they’re called out in Christian Standards the same way they try to cover for their homophobia is amazing.  100% suggest it, at the very least it gets them to shut the fuck up.

This is not Divine wrath. It’s a germ.

My dear friends of every faith, some fear mongers have started crying that this COVID-19 business is a plague sent by an angry deity. Please, oh for the love of all that is holy, don’t listen to them. This is a novel virus that we have no immunity to yet. It is not divine punishment. It is not a sign of the end of days. It is simply a germ that is going around that requires precautions and practical solutions. Do not give in to panic and despair. Yes, this is lethal and many souls have departed from this world because of it. Such things happen every day for many reasons. This does not mean that the divine has turned their face in anger upon the soul who has left this world. Nor does it mean that the divine has turned their face in anger upon the people of the world. Do not fear, for the divine is with you. They have not turned from you or your people. Nor have they looked upon you or your people with wrath. They shall guide the ones who are working to find a cure and they shall heal those who will be well. The divine is merciful, by what ever name you call them. Have faith in that mercy and take refuge in it.

May Sai Mati send Her wisdom to the brilliant scientists working day and night to find a cure.

May Dea see us through this terrible situation, and may we all remember Her love for us, even when times are especially hard.
