I wrote a D&D campaign that for all intents and purposes is probably my magnum opus as a DM and it will never resolve due to reasons so I'm putting what would be the end game for it here for posterity.

If you're a member of what's left of my D&D group and don't want to be spoiled, turn back now. And for the uninitiated to this campaign, I'll probably also explain the whole plot leading up to this point sometime.

We begin with the Magical Defense and Reconnaissance's (MDRN) true aims. Though the leader of the organization today is Morgan Deguisement, she was originally the founding member of the organization and in actuality is Morgan Le Fey in disguise, while our other magic expert Abe is actually also famous mythical onmyoji Abe no Seimei. Although history tells us that humanity was exiled from the use, understanding, and knowledge of magic, this was actually a ploy by Morgan Le Fey to horde magic use all to herself so that she would be an all powerful being over humanity. By being the leader of the organization that regulates magic and magical creatures she can directly manipulate people and perceptions.

The true end game for Morgan is a ritual that she's been preparing that would literally make her a god. The two things standing in her way are the extinction of some of the spell components, which she's attempting to circumvent by using lizards that transform into whatever substance they consume and feeding them fossilized versions of the spell components. And the only thing that could possibly be powerful enough to stop her, the Colossal Titan Armor, an armor set that was owned by a Titan, was shrunk down by wizards after the defeat of said Titan and each piece of it imbued with different powerful magics.

The campaign would culminate in a final showdown between the god being summoned to be replaced, a giant cicada lying dormant in the center of the planet and the armor, which would also revert to normal Titan size and be piloted like a mech by the PCs. Other major notable components to the final battle is the Warlock child character Enn's patron being an eldritch Spider horror, also establishing that the pantheon in this universe are all insects. Additionally, the ritual, which is being cast in the Astral plane, has been siphoning off the world's supply of natural mana, which is why higher tier spells can't be cast. Doug, our resident Druid, "inherited" a spell a la Rincewind that his great grandfather crafted, which can only be cast once and the spells sole purpose is to destroy the veil that is siphoning the mana.
