OH I WILL CRY THIS WAS ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE.
Cheer up, baby.

Synopsis - Your bf idol, Jungwon, arrives at home a little later than usual and he seems to be disappointed in something, or rather someone. So you find multiple ways to try and cheer him up.
Type - Angst, fluff.
Warnings - Angst, mentions of inner insecurities, Jungwon is a little sad (My bookie💔)
•───────•°•❀•°•───────•
Jungwon was tired. No, that was an understatement—he was completely exhausted. The day was filled with nonstop activity revolving around his career, and only that. The dance practice was the worst part of the day. His mind kept wandering and he just wasn't in the right state to be learning quite literally anything. The pressure of being the leader and not wanting to disappoint the fans weighed on his shoulders. Patience turned into impatience, irritation turned into frustration and then he just wasn't into it anymore. Mistakes everywhere, not understanding the instructions, and all along while his members kept trying to uplift him despite their fatigue as well. It almost made him feel like he was constantly doing something wrong, his mind heading to place the blame on him. He needed to succeed. He sat out the rest of the practice to just have a water break, gaze held onto the mirror as he watched his members get down the steps carefully. He sighed, leg bouncing nervously without even realizing it.
The others could tell the shift in his energy, the shift in the practice room when he wasn't feeling right. When the leader felt a certain way, it would sometimes spread like some sort of virus. Jungwon didn't feel like going to the dorm with the boys this time and they all worriedly bid their goodbye's. He walked the late night streets alone, gaze on the ground in thought as his hands were clenching from the cold and the tension in his body. He fought back his feelings, whatever they were. He breathed out shakily, regaining his composure and stumbling upon a convenience store and immediately thinking about you. He searched through his pockets and grabbed out his phone, opening his messages to your contact name. Luckily, you were free and agreed to him coming over. You said you didn't want anything from the store but he got some snacks anyway, knowing how you were.
•───────•°•❀•°•───────•
You sat down on the couch with your book in hand in the dim lighting, which Jungwon has told you plentiful of times that it was going to deteriorate your eyesight, but you didn't mind, and it set the atmosphere way more. Your eyes kept shifting over to the dark screen on your phone, hoping that he would text you back soon. You couldn't help but worry, especially with the way he was texting. With the sound of the door unlocking to your place your head popped up, revealing a very.. diminished Jungwon. It's like the light ontop of his head completely dimmed out, and your heart ached at the sight. He sighed heavily and shuffled over to the couch, plopping down next to you and resting his head on your legs, staring off into the distance, leaving the silence to say everything but nothing. You set your book down even without the bookmark in it, sitting up and placing your hand ontop of his head, fingers intertwining with the blond locks of his hair. You treaded carefully about the topic that might be brought up, words hesitant. "Wonnie? Do you wanna talk about this?" He stayed quietly, shrugging after a long while of comfortable silence. He shifted, looking up at you with solemn in his expression, almost like he wanted to get ready to cry.
You weren't going to just simply have that. You cupped his cheeks and let him lie there on your legs, staring at his cat-like eyes, now droopy and tired. "Won, you need to be healthier with your emotions. Please tell me what happened." He licked his lips and broke eye contact with you, wanting your hands back in his hair and you did just that, his head away from you again. "I feel.. like I made the worst decisions today. Nothing was working out; I kept making mistakes in the choreo and now I—I'm failing myself and my members. What if I'm not good enough to be an idol for this long?" His words almost made your heart palpitate, taking you aback by this deep rooted insecurity he seemed to have. You always figured something was wrong when he kept coming over more often, shying away from his members and looking fatigued. He finally let it out. "Jungwon. I'm not.. going to lie and say you can do this, because I don't. But I will say that you're one of the strongest people I know, the most hard-working, and I'm not just saying that because I love you. People make mistakes daily. Don't doubt your talent overall because of this one day that will eventually come to an end." It hurt you to see him like this, so vulnerable, but you were glad that he felt good enough to open up. You sat there and comforted him for a few more minutes, then getting up.
"C'mon, Wonnie. We're gonna play some games." Grabbing ahold of his rather cold hand, you led him down the dim lit hallway and into your room, flicking the switch on, met with a pink lamp in the corner resting on a bedside table. He hesitantly went along with you but also had no choice. He didn't squeeze your hand back or anything. You let go and sat him down on the bouncy bed, grabbing your already charged Nintendo that was plugged into your gaming computer. Sitting down on the bed next to him, you could sense his curiosity, which was good. The nintendo powered up and you decided to play the same game you left in the card, Animal Crossing. It was a good game for downtime, most likely if you didn't have debt to pay... you could recall playing with Jungwon and wailing about when you realized you hadn't paid your debt in years. That was awhile ago anyway—it was all paid off now with the learned responsibility and lectures of boyfriend Jungwon. You handed him the Nintendo and disappeared off, rustling noises heard from the kitchen and bags. He couldn't help but slightly giggle at the loud sounds plus curses underneath your breath when you, assumingely, dropped something.
You came back with a huge party bowl in your hand and two drinks held by your arms, waddling into the room carefully and placing the bowl between you two, handing him one of the drinks. Jungwon already knew what to do on the game since you've played with each other before, fingers hovering over the buttons and glancing over at you on your phone curiously. You started to pull up videos, recent and past performances of Jungwon. He sighed and looked away immediately, "I know what you're trying to do." You rolled your eyes and nudged him in the arm, grabbing his attention again, showing him the screen of your phone. He followed along with your futile plan—eyes scanning across the messages underneath a fancam of his. He didn't think any of this would result in something good, the bags under his eyes evident with the bright screen of your phone as he watched the video play.
"Jungwon is insanely good at dancing! He's so talented."
"He looks so good in this concept...?!"
"HIS TONE IS INSANE I JUST GOT INTO ENHYPEN AND HE'S BIAS WRECKING ME SAUR HARD."
"Our leader showing why he's here in the first place!🩷" That specific one hit him extra hard. His breath hitched, feeling the insecure thoughts of today slowly dissipate at the multiple praising comments, he couldn't see not one hate, not one comment that talked about maybe a mistake he made. He looked up at you smiling at the fancam in admiration, then at him, clicking your phone off. You awkwardly grinned, "That's all I wanted to show you. We can play now." He set the Nintendo down with no other thought, leaning in and bringing you into a hug with his chin on your shoulder, hands grasping at your back when he felt the lump in his throat grow. "Thank you, y/n. Just.. thank you." His voice trembled with appreciation. How did he have you in his life? Was it fate? He was extremely thankful to whoever or whatever out there that brought you two together before he even became a trainee, remembering the time you supported him at home with your family.
"Cheer up, baby. It's nothing. I hate to see you like that.. and I'll remind you and do things for you everyday that tells you how much of a great person you are." Every day was a step for Jungwon and he slowly built himself back up with your help, and he ended up apologizing to his members—with involuntary tears—but they all ended up comforting him and teasing him anyway. "Just because you're the leader doesn't mean you can't rely on us too." Was what Jay said, the others instantly agreeing on that factor. Jungwon ended up acing the choreography the very next day with the spam texts of you reminding him of how great he was, sending pictures of fans' comments praising him.
He would get by alright with this many people by his side, he really was fit for this job.

hi kumi!!! i hope u have a great day !!
i had a question i was curious abt lmao. do you just shift as the fls in kdramas or make your own characters?
hii thanku for the ask <3 So for most of them, i am my own character (so, not the fl), but for Lovely runner i’m kinda the fl? Like, i just scripted that my ‘role’ is that of the fl’s but the original characters are still in there!

SOBBING THIS IS SO CUTE
Change Your Ticket
Summary: Jungwon has been missing you ever since the tour kicked off, the distance stretching across months like an endless road. Every late-night call, every fleeting messages, makes Jungwon longs for you more than words can say. So why not change your ticket home to surprise him? Pairing: Idol!Jungwon x Non-idol!reader Genre: Tooth rotting fluff! A Short drabble Warning: Still unedited because of jetlag (_ _)。゜zzZ Word Count: 2,586 Author's Note: I randomly wrote this while on a business trip, waiting to board my flight, when my favorite One Direction song started playing. (yass, I’m an og directioner!) That’s when the idea for this story hit me. ( ̄︶ ̄)↗ After that, all I could think about was changing my ticket and flying to the next wtl tour stop. >︿< (I’m still having pcd from wtl bulacan (┬┬﹏┬┬) I miss them so much, please). So yeah, this is inspired by my favorite song that made me delulu during my teenage years—Change Your Ticket by One Direction. Enjoy! ♪(´▽`)
Jungwon loved performing. There was no hesitation, no doubt, this was what he was born to do. Under the dazzling stage lights, with crowd's cheers echoing in his ears, he felt alive. Every more was second nature, every note resonated through his veins, and every glance into the sea of fans felt electric.
The stage was his home and the music is his heartbeat. From the moment he stepped into the spotlight, the rest of the world faded away. It was just him and the rhythm, the pulse of the bass guiding his body, the lyrics slipping from is lips like a secret shared between him and the thousands of strangers.
There was no fear, no weight on his shoulders. Even in the chaos of rehearsals, the endless flights, and the night with barely any sleep, he never questioned it.
This is life, the lights, the screams, the rush, it wasn't a burden.
It was a dream he chased with everything he had. The hours of training, the sacrifices, the pressure... it had all been worth it the moment he felt the heat of the stage lights and heard the first chords of the opening song.
And he wasn't alone. His members were right there with him, their presence steady anchor through the whirlwind. They understood the unspoken pressure came with the dream, the nerves before a performance, the exhaustion after long days, the quiet moments backstage where they'd catch their breath and share soft smiles.
They were his brothers, his family.
The playful teasing during practice, the shared excitement when they nailed a difficult routine, the late-night talks after shows... those moments kept him grounded.
On stage, they moved as one, each member feeding off the other's energy, every glance, and subtle nod speaking volumes. Off stage, they were his comfort.
Every member brought a piece of home to to his life. No matter where they went, no matter how far the tour took them, they always had each other.
But even with that comfort, there was still a part of him that longed for something more.
Because as mush as he loved the stage, the adrenaline, and the bond with his members, the silence that followed was deafening.
When the light dimmed and the music stopped, when he stepped offstage and into the solitude of his hotel room, the emptiness settled in
And lately, that emptiness felt heavier.
Because he missed you.
The hotel room was quiet, almost too quiet. The only sound came from the soft hum of the air conditioning and the occasional distant honk from the streets below. Jungwon lay on the massive king-sized, the blanket pooling around his waist, his phone resting on the pillow beside him.
The screen glowed faintly, casting a soft light across his face as your voice filled the space.
"...and then I spilled coffee all over my papers. It was a total disaster," you said with a laugh, your face lighting up the screen. "I hade to redo everything."
Jungwon smiled softly, but it didn't quite reach his eyes. He listened, hanging onto every word, but his mind kept drifting, not because he wasn't interested, but because he missed you so much it hurt. He missed hearing your stories in person, missed the way you'd curl up beside him, your head resting on his shoulder while you talked about your day.
"You're pouting again" you teased, tilting your head slightly.
Jungwon blinked, lips pressing into a thin line before sighing. "Am not" he mumbled, turning onto his side to face the screen properly. His voice was quiet, almost sulky, making the corners of your lips tugged up into a soft smile.
"You totally are." You giggled, and his heart clenched at the sound.
God, he missed that.
Jungwon buried his face into the pillow for a moment before peeking at you again, his beautiful bobba eyes soft with longing. "I just... miss you, baby" he admitted, voice barely above a whisper.
Your face softened, eyes flickering with understanding. "I miss you too, love."
He exhaled slowly, running a hand through his hair. "It's just...after the shows, when I come back to the hotel, it feels so empty. The hyungs are around, but it's not the same. I keep wishing you were here. I got used to you being by my side, y'know?" He bit his lip, hesitating.
"I didn't realize how much I needed your constant presence until now."
You heart ached at his words. You could see it in his eyes, the quiet loneliness, the weight of the distance between you.
He tried to respect the fact that you had work, that you also have life and couldn't always be with him on tour, and you never heard him asked you to drop everything just to be by his side.
He love you so much to ask something selfishly.
But you knew, you knew him too well.
With every call, every soft "I miss you," he was one step away from asking you to pack you bags and join him.
And you missed him too.
Who wouldn't miss this adorable, sweet as strawberry with chocolate that you are lucky to claim as you boyfriend?
You giggled softly, turning onto your side in bed, you phone still in hand as you gazed at him. He looked so pouty and cute, lying there with the blankets pulled up to his chest, blond hair falling into his eyes.
If only he knew.
Because you weren't halfway across the world.
You were in the same country. The same city. The same hotel. Just a few floors away from him.
After you business trip overseas, instead of flying home, you changed you ticket and booked a flight to his next tour stop. With the help of his members, who'd struggled to keep the secret under wraps, given how easily your leader boyfriend could sniff out their lies, you'd managed to sneak in unnoticed.
You kept the conversation light, telling him about your day while Jungwon listened quietly. His eyes stayed on you, soft and heavy with longing. Every now and then, his gaze flickered across the screen, taking in the little details, the way your hair fell over your face, the curve of your lips when you smiled.
But then his eyes shifted past you for a moment, narrowing slightly.
"Wait..." He squinted at the screen. "What's that behind you?"
"Hm?" You tiled your head, trying to keep your voice causal. "What do you mean?"
Jungwon sat up slightly, his brows furrowing. "The wall." He pointed at the screen. "It looks...familiar."
Your heart skipped a beat. "Does it?" you asked innocently, shifting a bit to the side to block more of the background.
But it was too late. Jungwon's eyes darted back to the screen, scanning every corner. The beige walls, the faint texture of the wallpaper, even the soft glow of the bedside lamp, they all matched his room perfectly.
His breath caught.
"Wait...No way." His eyes widened. "Love... where are you right now?"
You bit your lip, trying to fight the grin threatening to spread across your face. "What do you mean? I'm at my hotel."
Jungwon's brows furrowed deeper. "Which hotel?" His voice barely above a whisper now, his mind racing. He shifted off the bed, glancing around his own room as if expecting you to jump out of the closet.
You giggled, shaking your head as you tried to keep your voice steady. "Baby, you're overthinking too much"
"I'm not" he shot back, eyes narrowing suspiciously. "Tell me where you are."
"I told you," you teased. "I'm at my hotel."
"Which. Hotel."
You bit your lip, holding back another laugh. He looked like he was on the verge of losing his mind. His patience was running thin, and you could practically see the gears in his head turning.
Sighing dramatically, you pouted. "Can't you just wait until tomorrow?"
Jungwon frowned. "What? Why tomorrow?"
You shrugged, trying to act casual. "Just... because."
His eyes narrowed further. "Y/n..." He dragged out your name, suspicion lacing every syllable. His gaze flicked past you again, studying the background. And when he saw the same chocolates that the hotel given to them for free on your bedside table. His lips parted slight, and his eyes widened.
"Wait a minute." He sat up straighter. "Are we on the same hotel?"
You heart skipped a beat. "What? No!" you quickly blurted out, but giggles escaping you weren't helping your case.
"You are." He gasped, running a hand through his hair. "You're here. You're literally here."
"Jungwon—"
A sudden shake of the screen made you burst into laughter as Jungwon scrambled out of the bed, the phone slipping from his grasp before he caught it again. You could hear the shuffle of his footsteps, the rustling of blankets being thrown aside, and the soft thud of a door being swung open.
"Oh my god," you laughed, watching his blurry movements. "Love, wait—"
"Nope." His voice was firm, rushed. "Which room you are"
"Come on, Love can you just wai—"
"Baby" His voice softened, almost breaking. "I'm this close to going crazy if I don't see you right now. So please, pretty baby, which room are you in? I badly need to see your gorgeous face that I've been missing so much."
You heart pounded breath hitching at the raw emotion on his voice. The way he begged made your chest tighten, and you knew there was no point in hiding anymore.
The plan the members wanted you to do to surprise their leader were thrown out the window when you saw the desperation in your boyfriends face.
With a tenderness in your eyes and softness in your lips, you gave in.
"Room 1009"
Within a minutes, a loud knock echoed through your room. Without hesitation, you flung the door open.
And there he is, you adorable boyfriend that you misses so much, standing there, chest heaving, and eyed wide as they met yours.
For a split second neither of you moved. Then, in a blur, he surged forward, arms wrapping tightly around you. His warmth engulfed you as he buried his face in your neck, holding you like he never wanted to let go.
“You’re really here,” he whispered, voice cracking slightly.
You clung to him, fingers gripping his shirt as you buried yourself in his embrace. “I’m here,” you breathed.
His arms tightened around you, as if making sure you were real. “God, I missed you.”
He continue clung to you like you were his lifeline, his arms trembling slightly as they tightened around you. You felt his heartbeat pounding against your chest, fast and uneven, and when you pulled back just enough to look at him, the sight made you heart ache.
His eyes were glassy, dark pools shimmering with unshed tears. His lips parted as if to speak, but no words came out. He just stared at you, his gaze flickering across your face like he was trying to memorize every detail, the curve of your lips, the softness of your eyes, the warmth of your touch.
"You're really here..." he whispered again, his voice cracking. "Please, don't make this a dream" he begged as he shook his head.
You reached up, cupping his check gently. He leaned immediately into your touch, eyes fluttering closed for a moment. "I'm here, baby. It's real. I'm not going anywhere."
A shaky breath escaped him as he opened his eyes again. One tear slipped free, trailing down his cheek. You wiped it away softly, your thumb lingering on his skin.
"I missed you so much, baby" he confessed, his voice barely holding together. "Every ight, I'd come back to the hotel, and it felt...empty. I'd lie in bed, staring at the ceiling, wishing you were there beside me. Even when we'd call, it wasn't the same. I just wanted to hold you."
Your heart clenched. "I missed you too. Every day."
He swallowed thickly, pulling you closer until there wasn't a silver of space between you. His forehead pressed against yours, his breath warm and shaku. "You don't know how much this means to me."
You smiled softly, brushing your fingers through his hair. "I think I do."
Jungwon let out a soft, shaky laugh, through it sounded more like a sob. He squeezed his eyes shut, resting his head on your shoulder as his arms wrapped around you again. You felt his tears soak into your shirt, but you didn't mind. You held him tighter, running your fingers up and down his back in slow, soothing strokes.
Jungwon sighed softly, his breath warm against your skin as he nestled deeper into your embrace. The weight of the past month apart melted away, replaced by the steady rhythm of your heartbeat against his cheek,
His arms held you close, fingers lazily tracing patterns along your back as the two of you settled onto the bed.
Jungwon buried his face in your hair, breathing you in, his hold tightening as if afraid you might slip away again. You felt his lips press a soft, lingering kiss against the top of your head, his warmth wrapping around you like a protective shield.
Slowly, the hotel room that once so cold and empty, now felt like home.
You shifted slightly, tucking yourself against his chest, and he immediately tightened his hold on you. The warmth of your body, the softness of your touch — it was everything he’d longed for.
It was everything he'd been craving for months.
No cameras, no crowds, no stage lights. Just you.
Jungwon pressed another kiss to your forehead, his eyes fluttering shut. His heart ached at the thought of you leaving again, of coming back to empty hotel rooms and cold beds. No. Not this time.
This time, he was going to be selfish.
As you slept soundly in his arms, Jungwon quietly reached for his phone. With careful fingers, he opened your flight details, scrolling down to the option he’d already decided on the moment he saw you standing in front of him.
Change return flight.
With a soft smile, he tucked the phone away and pulled you even closer, his heart finally at peace. No more waiting. No more distance. From now on, you’d face the world together.
As sleep threatened to pull him under, one final thought lingered in his mind, bringing a small, satisfied smile to his lips.
This time, we’re going home together.

I NEED YOU — YANG JUNGWON
SUMMARY. In the midst of his breaking point, Jungwon’s need for your love, presence, and understanding becomes the only thing that can save him from himself.
GENRE. ANGST / MINOR FLUFF?
THEMES. Established!Relationship, Jungwon has a mental breakdown from the weight of the world being on his shoulders, and you’re too busy trying not to be clingy to notice the signs until it’s too late.
AUTHORS NOTE. Wow. This broke me. Wish I could get a big hug right now, but I can’t, so I wrote this instead. Jungwon deserves all the love in the world.
Outsideeeeeeeee.
Those were the words plastered on the photo of you, Nicholas, Harua, and Maki—the third picture tonight, by the way, of you out at some club, having the time of your life. Nicholas’ arm is draped over your shoulder, a wide grin on his face as you laugh beside him. Maki and Harua stand off to the side, equally carefree, all of you caught in that carefree moment you’d been chasing lately.
Jungwon watches the photo flicker on his phone screen as he sits alone in his practice room, the dim light doing nothing to lessen the weight on his shoulders. The team had just finished their rehearsal, and the pressure was eating him alive. He knew you were out with your friends, having fun, but it still stung. There was a part of him, buried deep, that resented the distance between you two lately.
You had been glowing, laughing more than he’d seen in weeks, spending time with everyone else. It made him happy to see you happy, of course. But at the same time, he couldn’t help but feel a pang of jealousy. He missed the way things used to be—when you’d talk for hours, when he could just fall back into the comfort of your presence without feeling like he was a burden. Now, it felt like he was fighting for your attention in a way he never had to before.
And yet, he couldn’t bring himself to reach out. He wasn’t good at that, at letting anyone in, especially you. The weight of his responsibilities was suffocating, but even more so was the fear of failing. He knew you were there for him, always, but it didn’t make it any easier to deal with the thoughts swirling in his head, the self-doubt that he couldn’t shake.
You seemed so free, so carefree, and it made him feel… well, small. He wanted to be there with you, to laugh alongside you, to be the person who made you smile without all the baggage of his worries. But every time he tried to break through the wall he’d built up around himself, he faltered. Maybe it was because he wasn’t sure you’d understand, or maybe because he didn’t want to burden you with his mess. You didn’t deserve to carry his weight.
And yet, that didn’t stop the yearning from growing.
It wasn’t just the jealousy that ate at him; it was the ache of wanting to be seen, to be close to you again. To feel that unspoken connection you two had, the way you used to reach out and pull him in. The way you used to be his safe space.
But this time, he was ready to let you in. He just wasn’t sure how.
Jungwon sat in the corner of your apartment, his silhouette barely illuminated by the soft light coming from the kitchen. He hadn’t bothered to turn the lights on. The silence in the room felt like it was pressing against him, suffocating him more than the world outside ever could. He wasn’t even supposed to be here—he didn’t live here, not really. But he’d found himself coming earlier and earlier, staying here longer than he had any right to.
He couldn’t explain it.
The weight on his chest was heavier than usual tonight. It wasn’t just the pressure of everything he was juggling—being a leader, trying to keep everything together—it was something deeper. Something gnawing at him from the inside. The way you’d been out so often with your friends, the way you were laughing, carefree, while he was drowning in his own head, alone with his thoughts. It made him sick to think about, but worse, he couldn’t tell you. He wouldn’t let himself be the kind of guy to ask for more.
But now? Now it was breaking him.
The door clicked open, and there you were. Slightly tipsy, glowing with that smile that always made his chest tighten, but tonight it felt different. You froze for a second when you saw him, and the confusion crossed your face almost instantly. “Jungwon?”
You clearly weren’t expecting him. But there he was. Waiting. Staring at you with an unreadable expression.
You walked towards him, and he just watched you move. Your carefree energy—it killed him, and he didn’t know how to feel about it. He wanted to be happy for you, wanted to tell you how proud he was that you were having fun, but there was something in him that couldn’t. Not tonight.
“Why are you here?” you asked, trying to keep it light, as you kneeled beside him, your lips brushing against his cheek.
He didn’t even move at first. He just stared at you like you were someone he didn’t know. Like the person he once recognized wasn’t there anymore. Then his eyes flickered back to yours, and his voice came out sharp, cutting through the space between you two.
“Did you have fun?” The words were deceptively calm, but the tension in his jaw, the way his lips barely parted to speak—they were anything but.
You pulled back, blinking in confusion. “Yeah, of course,” you said, not understanding the sudden shift. “We had fun. Just like always.”
He didn’t reply right away. His eyes flickered over your face, but they weren’t soft anymore. They were cold, calculating, almost like he was searching for something in you—some sign, some acknowledgment, some… comfort. But there was nothing but this tension now.
You leaned in to kiss him again, but his voice stopped you.
“Why do you always look so happy with them? With him.”
His words were slow, deliberate, but they were jagged, like he was trying to bite back something bigger. You didn’t understand. “With who? Who are you talking about?”
“Nicholas,” he spat, the name falling from his lips like it burned him. “You’ve been out with him a lot, huh? He’s always got his arm around you. Always the one to laugh with you. I’m just…” He couldn’t even finish the sentence, his voice breaking.
Your eyes widened as you took a step back, completely thrown off. “Jungwon, what are you talking about?”
But he wasn’t done. He wasn’t even close to being done.
His chest heaved with the frustration building inside him, his face turning red as his temper flared. “I’m just here. Sitting. Waiting. Watching you have the time of your life while I’m fucking falling apart.” His voice cracked on the last words, and you could hear the anguish in them, even if he didn’t want you to.
“You think I don’t see it? I see it, Y/N. I see you laughing with them, talking to them, and I—I just sit here. Alone. Hoping you’ll notice me. But you don’t. Not anymore.” His words were coming faster now, like a dam had burst and there was no stopping it.
You were frozen. Completely at a loss for how to react. This wasn’t the Jungwon you knew. He’d always been calm, collected, and so damn self-assured. But now? He was a storm, and you were standing right in its path.
“Jungwon…” You tried to reach for him, but he pulled away from your touch, his body stiff, like you’d just burned him.
“I’m trying, okay? I’m trying to be everything, to do everything right. For you. For the team. For everyone. But it’s never enough.” His voice broke this time, and he closed his eyes, his breath shuddering as he fought to keep himself together.
But he couldn’t. Not anymore.
“You don’t understand. You don’t know how bad it’s getting.” He wiped his face quickly, almost embarrassed by the tears that were welling up in his eyes. “I don’t know how much more of this I can take. I don’t know how to keep doing this.”
He broke then, his walls shattering around him. His voice trembled as he finally let everything out. “I just need you. All of you. I need you to be here, Y/N. I need you to see me. To really see me. Not the leader, not the boyfriend you think you have to be perfect for. Just… me.”
His head dropped into his hands, shoulders shaking as the weight of everything came crashing down.
You knelt beside him, your own heart breaking at the sight of him like this. But you didn’t know what to say. How to fix this.
“Jungwon, I—” you started, but he cut you off, his voice hoarse as he spoke between shallow breaths.
“You don’t have to say anything, Y/N. Just… just be here. Please. I need you so much right now.” His voice cracked, and he looked at you, the vulnerability in his eyes like nothing you’d ever seen before.
And for the first time, you realized just how deeply he’d been sinking, just how much he needed you in a way you hadn’t noticed. All the signs had been there, but you hadn’t seen them.
You felt your heart sink as you watched him, the quiet weight of everything he was carrying. He wasn’t just the leader, the strong one, the one who held everything together. He was Jungwon. And right now, that Jungwon was broken, and you couldn’t ignore that anymore.
You moved closer, slowly, like you were trying to approach a wounded animal. His eyes flicked up to yours, and for a moment, it felt like he was hiding everything again. But you weren’t having it this time.
“Jungwon… I’m so sorry.” The words tasted bitter, because you knew they weren’t enough, but they were all you could say for now. “I thought I was doing the right thing, giving you space… I thought I was being considerate, letting you have your time. But I didn’t realize I was missing the whole picture. I wasn’t seeing you. Not the way you needed me to. Not the way you are.”
You reached out then, your hand resting gently on his arm, like you were trying to ground him. “I know you don’t always want to show it, and I know you’re used to keeping things inside, holding everything together. You’re so used to being the rock for everyone else.” You shook your head, your voice steady now, growing with conviction. “But that’s not all you are, Jungwon. You’re more than that.”
You paused, taking a breath, needing to find the right words that didn’t just feel like empty reassurances. “You’re someone who thinks so much, who feels so deeply, even when you try to bury it. You’re someone who cares about people, and about me—and I can see that. But you’re also someone who deserves to be cared for, someone who needs someone to hold him, even when you’re scared to ask for it.”
You looked at him, trying to pierce through the walls he’d put up. “You don’t have to carry everything, you know. You don’t have to be perfect. You don’t have to be the strong one all the time. I see you, Jungwon. I see you as you—not just the leader or the one who’s always got it together. I see the parts of you that you don’t want to show, the parts you keep locked away because you think they make you weak. But they don’t. They make you real. And I love you for that.”
You reached up to touch his cheek, your thumb brushing softly over his skin. “I love your mind, the way you think, the way you process everything, even when it drives you crazy. I love how you’re always looking for more, for better, for deeper meaning in everything. I love the way you care about people, even when it feels like it’s too much for you to handle.
You swallowed, heart pounding. “But what I love most, Jungwon, is how you let me in. Even when you don’t want to. Even when you try to push me away. Because I know it’s hard for you to open up. But I want to hear you. I want to know all of you—the good, the bad, the messy parts that scare you.”
You leaned in, your forehead resting against his for a moment, breathing him in, your voice soft but unwavering. “I’m here, Jungwon. I’m here, not just for the good parts, not just for the strong parts. But for all of you. And I need you to promise me something.”
He didn’t say anything, just stared at you, waiting. You could feel the weight of everything in the air, and you knew this moment could change everything.
“I need you to promise me that you won’t keep all of this inside again. Promise me you’ll let me help carry it. Promise me you won’t feel like you have to do everything alone. You don’t have to be the perfect leader, or the strong one, or the guy who always has it figured out. You’re allowed to feel everything, Jungwon. You’re allowed to need someone.”
You let the silence hang in the air for a beat, hoping your words were reaching him, letting him know that you saw him—the real him. Not the one who always had to be perfect, but the one who needed love and support just like everyone else.
“I’ll always be here, Jungwon. Always. But I need you to promise me that when it gets too heavy, when you feel like you can’t breathe anymore, you’ll tell me. Promise me you won’t keep it inside. I can’t help if I don’t know, but I’ll do anything to carry this with you. So promise me you’ll never shut me out.”
His eyes flickered with something soft, something vulnerable, before he nodded slowly, the weight lifting just a little.
“I promise,” he whispered, his voice barely audible but full of sincerity. “I promise I won’t shut you out anymore.”
The words hung in the air for a long moment, neither of you moving, neither of you speaking. But something shifted in him. His eyes welled with emotion, the walls he’d kept up for so long beginning to crack under the weight of it all. Slowly, like he didn’t trust his own body to move, Jungwon leaned into you, his shoulders shaking.
And then, before you could even react, the tears came.
His face buried in the crook of your neck as his body trembled, every sob hitting like a wave. His arms wrapped around you desperately, like you were the only thing anchoring him in this overwhelming storm of feelings he had kept bottled up for so long. The weight of everything—his doubts, his frustrations, his fears—broke free, and you held him tightly, letting him feel your warmth.
You didn’t need to say anything, you just held him, letting him release it all, your hands smoothing over his hair, brushing away the tears that didn’t stop flowing. You knew this was everything he’d been carrying. And you knew this was the first time he’d ever allowed himself to let it out like this.
“I’m sorry,” his voice cracked, barely audible as he clung to you. “I didn’t mean to say those things. I didn’t… I didn’t want to hurt you, I swear. I was just so… I don’t know, frustrated. And I—” His voice hitched as another sob wracked through him, his words getting caught in the choke of his breath. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to push you away, I didn’t mean to be so… so cruel.”
You tightened your arms around him, pressing your cheek to the top of his head, feeling him break down in your arms, feeling the weight of his regret. The words were raw, the apology coming from a place of vulnerability you hadn’t seen from him before.
“Jungwon,” you whispered softly, your hands moving to his face to gently lift his tear-soaked eyes to meet yours. “You don’t have to apologize. I know it wasn’t you. I know it was the pressure and all the things you’re holding inside. But you don’t have to carry that alone anymore. You’re not alone in this.”
He nodded weakly, his breath shallow as he tried to steady himself, but the tears still flowed, a steady stream of remorse and raw emotion. “I don’t want to hurt you, Y/N. I don’t want to push you away again. I just… I didn’t know how to make it stop. I didn’t know how to… to let go.”
You kissed his forehead gently, wiping away the last of his tears. “You don’t have to do it alone. Let me help you carry it. Let me be here, really here, for all of it. You don’t have to hold it together all the time.”
He nodded again, his arms tightening around you as if he was afraid to let go, afraid that the moment this passed, the weight would return.
“I’m sorry,” he repeated, his voice thick with emotion. “For being mean. For shutting you out when all you wanted was to be there for me. I don’t deserve you.”
You smiled softly, brushing your thumb over his cheek as you looked into his eyes, making sure he could see just how much you meant it. “You do deserve me. You’re allowed to feel everything, Jungwon. And you’re allowed to have your moments, to be weak, to be scared. But you’re not weak for needing help. And I’m never going anywhere.”
With that, he let out a shaky breath, his body relaxing slightly in your arms, the storm of his emotions slowly starting to settle, the tears easing, though there was still that tremor in his breath. And for the first time in a long time, he felt a little lighter.
“I love you,” he whispered, the words trembling as they left his lips, full of sincerity, full of everything he had left to give.
You pressed a soft kiss to his forehead, a silent promise lingering in the air between you, that no matter how heavy things got, you’d always be there to help him carry it.

synopsis — why did jungwon hide rikis love letter to you? (PLEASE READ PART 1)
lee's ₊˚⊹ ᰔ comment ┊there were a lot of questions/asks for explanations from pt. 1 so here it is! guys lowkey started tearing up I'm so sorry jungwon biases... I couldn't help myself again...
5 months before…
Today was Jungwon’s worst day possible. He hadn’t done as well as he wanted on an important test—not a failing grade, but not perfect either. On top of that, he left his stuff somewhere and couldn’t remember where.
Usually, he was calm, cool, and collected, but right now, he felt helpless. Resting his head on his desk, he let the frustration settle in, feeling like he was slowly being submerged in water—until he felt a slight tug on his hair.
Slowly, he lifted his head, only to see you, your hand still hovering above him. You flinched at his movement, clearly not expecting him to be awake.
“Oh my gosh, I’m so sorry! I thought you were asleep, and your hair just looked so fluffy—” you blurted, your words tumbling over each other.
Jungwon just stared at you, silent.
You took his lack of response as a reason to keep going. “Anyway—I found this bag and recognized the name. Here you go!” You slung it over the back of his chair, grinning.
He glanced at the bag before looking back at you. You knew him? He didn’t know you.
The silence stretched, and you hummed, shifting awkwardly. He still hadn’t said thank you. You were about to excuse yourself when you caught a glimpse of the paper under his arms.
“Hey, a 75? That’s great! Man, I barely got a 65—you’re so smart. You wanna study sometime?”
Jungwon opened his mouth to reply, but before he could, the classroom door swung open.
“Y/N! We need you in the student council room—the boys are fighting again!”
You groaned, dragging your hands down your face. Without another word, you gave him a small wave, flashing a pretty smile before running off.
Jungwon raised his head, staring at the spot you had just been. “A 75 isn’t even good,” he murmured, resting his head back down. “What a weirdo.”
Yet, despite himself, he kept thinking back to that moment. He wouldn’t admit it, but it brought him a strange sense of comfort. He also didn’t even want to imagine what would’ve happened if he had really lost his stuff.
Days passed, and while he didn’t speak to you much, he saw you everywhere. Then, one day, as he strolled through the library, he spotted you working at the front desk.
He lingered behind a shelf, watching as you glanced around before sneaking to the back of the library.
Curiosity got the better of him. He followed.
Turning the corner, he caught you opening a small box, slipping a piece of paper inside. When you turned around, both of you flinched.
“Jungwon? What are you doing here?”
He crossed his arms. “What are you doing here? What’s in the box?”
Quickly, you stretched your arms out, blocking him. “It’s nothing.”
Jungwon smirked, trying to peek past you. “If it’s nothing, let me see.”
Before you could stop him, he had already snatched up the paper. You groaned, covering your face as he read it.
“You were embarrassed over cussing someone out for wearing the same headband as you on picture day?” His grin widened, amusement dancing in his eyes.
“I talked about wearing that headband for weeks…” you mumbled, looking away.
For a moment, he stayed silent. And then—he burst out laughing. Full, unrestrained laughter—the kind he hadn’t had in ages.
From that day on, he stayed by your side.
Jungwon was well-known around school. Girls found him handsome, even flirted with him, guys thought he was pretty damn good at sports and cool to hang out with. But because of that pedestal, few ever approached him as a true friend.
You didn’t seem to care about all that.
Instead of just waving at him in the hallway, you ran up to him to rant about your day. Instead of borrowing a pencil and ignoring him for the rest of class, you swapped desk numbers just to sit beside him. Instead of leaving him alone when he shut down, you stayed. Always.
You became his best friend. And he was yours. Thats all he ever needed.
That’s what he told himself, anyway.
February rolled around—the month of love. The halls were littered with Valentine’s posters, the air buzzing with excitement.
Jungwon didn’t think much of it. Maybe he’d just hang out with you that day.
But when he sat down next to you in class, you were grinning at your phone, giggling.
He smiled. “What’s got you so giddy today, huh?”
You turned your screen toward him. “I got Riki’s contact today… look!”
Jungwon’s smile faltered. He glanced at the name on your screen. Ah. Right.
He forgot about your tiny crush on Riki.
Nodding, he turned to the window, pretending it didn’t bother him. But the dull thump in his chest told him otherwise. I guess you’ll be busy that day. How lame.
Later that day, he was on the soccer field when his phone vibrated. Seeing your name, he grinned stupidly and opened the message.
You:
JUNGWONJUNGWONOMG
PLSPLSANSWERLOOKATURPHONE
Wonnie:
Ok what the hell
What is it?
You:
You are NEVER going to believe who just slid into the back of the library.
Wonnie:
Is it Jake again? Poor guy
Maybe Jay? Idk tell me
You:
Nishimura… Riki…
Jungwon stared at the screen.
Riki? Well. It was about time. He had been into you without a doubt.
Scoffing, Jungwon typed back.
Wonnie:
… Fr?
Maybe he confessed to you?
You:
Right, totally.
Jungwon frowned. You could be so oblivious sometimes. To more than one person.
Wonnie:
Think about it.
Setting his phone down, he exhaled sharply. He had a weird urge to see you. Maybe you wanted to talk about it.
He sighed, packing up his things and heading toward the library.
As he neared the back entrance, he spotted Riki slipping out. Their eyes met for a second, but neither spoke.
There was something in that look. Knowing.
Jungwon clenched his jaw and walked past him, slipping inside unnoticed.
Then, his eyes landed on the box.
For a split second, he hesitated. Then, without thinking, he stepped forward.
Glancing around, he reached inside. There were a lot of letters. But he found Riki’s almost immediately—a pink envelope decorated with tiny white hearts, his name written neatly on the front which was uncommon for love letters being left vulnerable in a box.
Jungwon stared at it. “What an idiot.”
Without thinking, he plucked it from the box, turning it over in his hands before slowly opening it.
Inside, a note.
Hey, I don’t really know how to start this. Okay, so… I think you’re really annoying. But for some reason, I like how annoying you are. You’re incredibly nosy, but I don’t mind when you peck at my life. I don’t know when I started to feel this way, but I know how I feel now. I like you. A lot. Too much, actually. If you feel the same, then… I don’t know. You’ll know what to do. You always do. — N.R.
Jungwon exhaled, rubbing his temples.
If you knew about this, you’d be over the moon.
And yet—before he could stop himself—he shoved the letter into his bag.
Why?
He convinced himself it was to toy with you. Something deeper inside knew other wise.
When Jungwon saw you through the student council door, scanning through all the love letters, he felt a soft pang in his chest. You were looking for Riki’s… he knew it.
When he entered, he played it off—laughing, smiling—knowing he had the one thing you had been waiting for this entire year. But when the opportunity came to fess up, he couldn’t. He just couldn’t.
When Riki stepped in, both Jungwon and Riki locked eyes. It didn’t even last a second, but the way he looked at him… he knew. He definitely knew that Jungwon had grabbed the letter.
Jungwon excused himself, whispering, “Good luck,” into Riki’s ear. A small part of him meant it. It was more for you.
He walked slowly to the locker room, overthinking about you and Riki. Overthinking about you and himself. What is this? It hurt. It hurt so much.
He was caught off guard by a hand on his shoulder. It was Jay, another friend of his.
“Hey man, where’s your girlfriend?” Jay asked with a knowing grin.
Jungwon blinked, still walking toward the locker room. “Girlfriend? I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
Jay sighed, glancing around before looking back at him. “Don’t play dumb. You know I’m talking about Y/N. Did you confess yet?”
Jungwon stopped, causing Jay to stumble a little. Jay looked at him, puzzled.
Confess. Did he like you? Is that what this is?
That’s what he thought about for the rest of the day.
He liked you.
He liked you.
He liked you. You. You. You.
He fumbled on the field, spaced out during conversations, and excused himself from after-practice hangouts.
When he got home, he immediately went to his room, throwing himself onto his bed and sighing at the ceiling. The moment of peace was interrupted by a vibration in his right hand. He brought his phone up to his face and saw your contact. You always called him after his practice.
He answered, bringing the phone to his ear. “Hey.”
“AHHHHHHH, Wonnie! You won’t believe it! He likes me back! Isn’t that crazy? For some reason, his love letter went missing—some weirdo took it. But he confessed to me!” you squealed from the other line.
He smiled a little at your happiness, ignoring the heaviness in his chest. “That’s great Y/N… You guys dating now?”
“Actually, we’re taking things slow. He blabbed about needing to take care of something first.”
That made Jungwon sit up. “Take care of something?” he asked.
“Yeah. No clue, but it doesn’t bother me. I’ve been waiting long enough—I can wait a little bit more.” You smiled to yourself.
Jungwon thought. Riki didn’t need to take care of something. He needed to take care of someone.
“I’m sure it’ll happen soon,” Jungwon said, trying to sound reassuring.
You sighed at his words. “Thanks, I feel like the happiest girl in the world.”
Jungwon didn’t respond to that. “I’m pretty tired from practice. Talk to you later?”
“Oh! I’m so sorry, Wonnie! Of course—sleep well, alright?”
“…You too.”
And with that, he hung up.
Jungwon stared at his phone, the call screen fading to black as the weight in his chest settled in. His fingers curled around the device, gripping it tighter than necessary.
He likes me back!
Your words replayed in his head over and over, each time pressing harder against the part of him that had only just realized the truth.
He liked you.
And now, he was too late.
Jungwon exhaled sharply, tossing his phone onto his bed before running a hand down his face. The ceiling blurred in his vision as he lay back down, feeling—what was this? Emptiness? Regret?
He wanted to be happy for you. He was happy for you. You were his best friend. That’s what best friends did. They supported each other, no matter what.
But then why did it feel like his heart was being squeezed in a way that left him breathless?
Riki still hadn’t officially asked you out. That was something, right? But Jungwon knew it wasn’t for the reason you thought.
He needed to take care of someone.
Jungwon scoffed to himself, letting his arm drape over his eyes.
Riki knew. He definitely knew.
And now, Jungwon had a choice to make.
Does he let this be? Pretend his feelings didn’t exist, swallow them whole, and stand by your side like he always had?
Or does he do something about it?
His fingers twitched at the thought, but deep down, he already knew his answer.
Jungwon had never been the type to back down from a challenge. But this—this wasn’t some game. This wasn’t a competition he could win just by trying harder, running faster, pushing himself more.
This was you.
And if anyone deserved to be happy, it was you.
Even if it wasn’t with him.
“Pass it!” Jungwon yelled across the field.
He had been practicing all morning, through breaks, and even during lunch. Soccer was his escape—the only thing that drowned out the noise in his head.
But that peace was shattered when he spotted a figure standing by the benches near his stuff.
Riki.
He stood there, arms crossed, gaze steady. His expression was unreadable, but Jungwon knew exactly why he was here.
Jungwon hesitated for only a second before calling for a break. With a deep sigh, he jogged over, wiping sweat from his forehead before sitting down on the bench. He didn’t look at Riki, just grabbed his water bottle and took a sip.
Riki sat beside him, wasting no time.
“Do you know what happened to my letter?”
Jungwon glanced at him from the corner of his eye, then turned his gaze back to the field. “Why are you asking questions you already know the answer to?” His voice was flat, expression unreadable.
Riki exhaled through his nose, nodding slightly as if he expected that response. “Why?”
Jungwon leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees. “You know the answer to that too.”
Silence stretched between them, heavy and suffocating. The distant shouts of players and the sound of cleats against the field felt worlds away.
Finally, Jungwon sat up, patting his thigh before standing. “Is that it? I’m pretty busy.” He nodded toward the field, crossing his arms.
Riki stood too, this time meeting Jungwon’s gaze head-on. His voice was calm, but there was an edge to it.
“However you feel, take it out on me. Not her, she cares for you.”
Jungwon clenched his jaw.
Riki let the words linger before turning on his heel and walking away.
Jungwon watched him go, fingers tightening around his water bottle. His chest felt heavy, like something was pressing down on it, suffocating him.
He ran a hand through his hair, exhaling sharply before kicking the bench. It barely moved, but it was enough to make his frustration bubble over.
Why did Riki have to say it like that? Like he was some selfish idiot who didn’t already know that? Like he didn’t already hate himself for it?
With a forced breath, he shook his head, pushing everything down, just like he always did. He had a game to focus on.
Without another glance at the benches, he jogged back onto the field, forcing himself to get lost in the only thing that still made sense.
A week after that encounter with Riki, Jungwon found himself in your room. He was doing homework while you sat beside him, pouting at your phone. He glanced at you and smiled.
“What are you grumbling about?” he asked.
You sighed, putting your phone down and continuing with your work. “It’s nothing…”
Jungwon raised a brow. He had never seen you this down before. “What? Tell me. You always tell me what’s wrong,” he pushed.
Pouting, you looked at him with puppy eyes. “It’s Riki… It’s been about a week, and I haven’t seen him or heard from him. Do you think he ghosted me?”
Jungwon stiffened. He had overheard from some guys that Riki had gotten into serious trouble with his parents and now had to work overtime at his part-time job. He sighed, looking at you. You were so obviously heartbroken. Should he tell you?
Or should he be selfish?
This was his chance. He could win you over. He could show you that he was here. That he would always be here.
He gulped, staring back down at his work. He was selfish—just for a moment. But then, he heard a broken sniffle come from you. His eyes snapped to you, watching as you tried to dry your tears, a fake smile on your face as if pretending everything was okay.
His heart dropped. Did Riki really mean that much to you?
Jungwon quickly moved next to you, guiding you to rest your head on his lap. Your cries softened as he gently patted your head, just like he always did.
He looked down at you—your eyes shut, your breathing slowing, the tension in your body fading. And then, softly, he spoke:
“I overheard that he got into some pretty big trouble and is working overtime at his job. He probably didn’t want to trouble you with that stupid mentality of his.”
Your eyes shot open. You turned your head, looking up at him. “Really?”
He nodded. “Really.”
In an instant, you shot up, grabbing your jacket and shoes. “Gosh, that jerk. Where does he work? I’m gonna give him a piece of my mind. Text me the address?” you said, pacing around the room.
Jungwon watched you, unable to find the right words. He wanted to stop you.
Before you could rush out the door, he stood up and grabbed your wrist. You looked up at him, confused. “Wonnie? What is it?”
“I—uhm.”
This was it. He should tell you now. If he didn’t, it would kill him. But as he looked at you—eager, desperate to see Riki—he exhaled and let go.
“Take your umbrella. It’s raining.”
You smiled, running past him to grab it. “Thanks! Leave whenever you want! And don’t forget to take some leftovers home!”
And just like that, you were gone.
Jungwon stood frozen, staring at the empty space you had just occupied. Slowly, his eyes wandered around your room.
The walls covered in posters. The notebooks scattered on your desk. The lingering scent of your perfume.
It was all so familiar.
His mind filled with memories—the time you both got front-row tickets to your favorite band and shouted while holding hands, the nights he stayed up to bring you food when you were sick, the first time you hugged him while crying into his chest.
And yet, despite all those moments, despite everything he had done for you… he never came to terms with his feelings.
A tear slid down his cheek before he even realized it. He wiped at it absently, staring at his damp fingers in disbelief.
Then, without warning, the tears came faster.
He sucked in a shaky breath, trying to stop them, but his chest tightened, and his knees buckled beneath him. He collapsed onto the floor, hands gripping the fabric of his pants as silent sobs racked his body.
It was too much.
The love he had buried.
The longing he had ignored.
The pain of watching you run to someone else.
He had lost you.
And the worst part?
You were never his to begin with.

pairing : ni-ki x reader ! genre : fluffy fluff flufffffff ! cw : forehead and nose kisses ! wc : 431
syposis : ni-ki teaches you japanese 🥸

“okay, say it with me—… o-ya-su-mi," riki’s voice was soft as he looked up at you, lips curling into a smile. his hands rested on your waist as you sat comfortably on his lap, legs draped on either side of him.
you nodded, trying your best to follow along. “oya…sumi. did i get it right?”
he nodded gently, fingers lightly tapping against your side. "perfect. you’re a natural."
the dim light from the bedside lamp cast a warm glow over the room, prompting warmth to surround you. you could feel his steady and soothing heartbeat against you. the night was a calm and showed how hours had passed since you saw each other first, like the world had slowed down just for the two of you.
“okay okay, teach me another one,” you asked as you leaned forward slightly. his eyes seemed to have sparkle as he thought for a moment.
"okay, umm, how about... su-ki da yo. it means..." he hesitated, side-eyeing you with a knowing smirk on his face as his cheeks flushing slightly.
"what does it mean?" you asked, teasingly poking his chest, knowing full well what he was about to say. you didn’t do duolingo for nothing after all.
riki’s voice was a little quieter this time, but the playfulness never left his expression. “it means ‘i like you.’” he glanced up at you and you couldn’t help but smile at the way his eyes softened when he said it.
"well in that case….. i ‘suki da yo’ you too," you repeated slowly, enunciating each syllable, trying to make it as clear as possible.
his grin widened, adoration swelling in his chest at your stupid attempt at reciprocating his confess, though equally as proud of your pronunciation. without thinking, he leaned forward to press a gentle kiss to the tip of your nose.
hours have passed, and you’re completely sprawled against his chest, your body overlapping his as you nuzzle into his neck, your warm breath tickling his skin.
riki shifts slightly, pressing a soft kiss to your forehead before snorting when he notices the drool slipping from the corner of your mouth. without hesitation, he snaps a picture, already planning how he’ll tease you with it in the morning. but for now, he just smiles, soaking in your presence (and your drool) with a particular fondness floating in his eyes.
“aisteru,” he mumbles, his voice shaky and tired as he kisses your forehead again, setting his phone on the nightstand before finally wrapping his arms around your shoulders, pulling you even closer, and shutting his eyes.
note : i love him very very much 😞
