Hmm managed to draw again. It's been very busy days at class and at home and I couldn't see any free time to draw again. Then I remembered I needed to at least practice drawing this guy since Jevil is going to be another of the key characters in my AU and I need to start to practice him (along with Seam, I think maybe is going to be the next character I'll draw). I think it's not bad for my first time. What you think? I did so the bells are representing all the suits of the cards, and his eyes are gaping holes with lamp like pupils like a classic Black Mage. For the rest, I used these as reference to do my own interpretation:

Well, the 2nd assignment is finished. Spamton's store-front with a whimsy cartoon touch. I made use of my old Trashy vr avatar I did last year (and that I suppose nobody remembers) to give it a point of interest. There's also an obscure cameo to an old cartoon in this picture.

I made everything from scratch, including the materials and textures. Could be better but I'm really wasted of so much crunching things in Blender for so many weeks on end 😭At least I learnt a lot of things along the way.

The 3rd assignment I need to do it before Monday. Should be simple but... Sunday is always full with house chores. Anyway, I hope I can have something on time. I'm sad I couldn't spend any of my Spring holidays advancing commissions, but it is what it is. Once I has this 3rd assignment finished, there is another one, but its delivery date is for the 28th. Hope I can advance commissions between tomorrow and then.

To sleep I go... It's almost 6 AM and I don't know how I'm still so awake (maybe the stress of not having stuff finished on time).

2 weeks of wrangling with this. The learning curve was very steep but I managed, to learn new things and to learn from my mistakes. I recycled my old Smash Bros template I did for Glace because in the end I had plans to make one for all characters.

I'm still not finished with my class assignments, but I'm happy the 3D character is over and ready to deliver to the teacher. Now onto Spamton's store-front for the 3D scene assignment 🏃‍♂️ (which I hope will be easier since I don't have to put armatures to anything nor stare in terror at my weighted vertexes...).

Adding one more render of how the silly looks like in full body (I should finish that character sheet of his some day too).

OK, so far the model is complete, but I need to put an armature in him too because without bones, there is going to be zero movement and zero posing. I'm more concerned about the presentation... I want to try out an interesting way of rendering it in a less photorealistic way (and that means STUDYDING this Sunday how the studio TRIGGER does certain stuff I want to imitate 📚). At least I'm happy with the Addison hands I made 🖐 (it took me like 4 days of wondering the science behind it, how to make them like the articulated Addison hands they are and not normal hands that everyone else and their cat tack to their models -- I made everything from a single square). These hands can be shaped in many designs for all the other body types of Addison in my AU cast (sadly these can't be used on Spwatchton because his hands of "Spurious-Admin" are different...). This means that I can use these hands as template to model the ones of my other Addison OCs 😁OMG I can't wait to model all of my Addis dsfkjhdfkjlhasd 💥

Anyhow, that's an update on the model. I'll keep blendering until my eyes fall off.

On another thing, I also took the time to develop the storyboard of the AMV I want to animate of Spwatchton vs. "Tenna" (whoever that is lol), and it slaps so hard, but they are like 25 camera shots of animated storytelling, I'm not even sure if I'll be able to have enough time to do it. I always wanted to do my own "anime style" music video since I was a teenager, and I could add this AMV easily to my portfolio and enrich my career with animation. Ah, so many ambitions... but my determination depends on the power of kromer to stabilize my life and not beg for people to commission me to pay my internet. I also titled the animation storyboard as "Deletenna". What Spwatch is going to do in that animation, I leave that to your imagination until I can make the first draft of sketches 👉👈

Random thing that I noticed after double checking if my Ralsei was accurate, and I found that I don't know why but why Ralsei's sleeves turn black? Well, it almost felt like in Chapter 2 he turned white and grew two arms (for a long time I thought the scarf was Ralsei's only arm).

Anyway, strange realizations 🤔

I wanted to draw me some Ralsei from memory. He's still an important character in my AU but I never put myself to start to draw him in my style.

During the second break I tried to do some research about my Spex [[TAQUIÖN]] (Barón Ludo for friends and allies). Because he's stylized after being an undead robot made from old casino machines and other broken mechanical parts, I'm still wondering his design. I found that his dreadocks (made from cables connected to his skull) are able to be manipulated and pull machine parts from his body to fabricate several make-shift appliances like an old phonograph (that plays old music) 🎵, a blender (with a ludicrous potency), a microwave, a radio, a rotary phone and an old black and white CRT TV 📺 Only one appliance can be fabricated at a time and he dismantles them again when not in use. Makes me wonder if he can make other appliances from all the scrap parts he used to build his body 🤔 Who would want to hang out with a lich Spex that stores living manniquins of Addisons in a coffin and that has Zandalari accent? ⚰️ He's so dead from his design being long overdue since last year...

For now only that. I think I've made quite the progress today with the Spamton's storefront, but now the teacher asked us to make a room for the Animal Crossing avatar, and I'm still not over with the previous character nor the storefront! Fortunately the Animal Crossing stuff is to be delivered this next 25th so I still have time for that (if nothing bad happens before that). Anyway, an excuse of blog update. Back to the grind.

Stuff going particularly slow. Today there was a massive outage on Europe affecting several countries for most of the afternoon and evening and I couldn't access my files on Github to work today. At least during class I finished Kurio's mic, but I still don't know the proportions related to his hands, since I still need to make those, and the mic looks HUGE in comparison.

Still need to do several other stuff to finish the character. Right now in class I've started to work on Spamton's storefront, just blocking the scene before starting to add the elements that will appear in it (trash and other elements that Spamton keeps in his storage to sell to the unsuspecting customer). Is going to be a fun ride with that. I'll finish Kurio at home, but this time I'll make sure to don't give cloud storage for granted and always do a physical copy on my pendrive...

I have an interesting idea for a render with this character model, but first I need to finish it of course. Then do an intense study about rendering to pull out my idea.

Pah, is late again, heading to bed or I'll wake up with just 4 hours of sleep...

I'm taking a break to stretch my legs. I has been cooking the model from noon to... what? is already 1 AM? 😢

Context: This is the "Dark Fountain Awards" badge Kurio received some time in the past. He's not particularly proud of it, and just wearing it out of protocol, as reminder for himself that truths should be disclosed always in small doses and tucked behind askew lines for the proper people to find them. It's just a commentary on how censorship (namely Queen) if not evaded well, it can ruin your entire career. Is not that he's partial to Queen (even less after he finished his entire report on the EXCEPTION Crisis end, which is what gave him a few accolades and awards), it's just that he needs to keep the statu quo if he wants to keep giving the Cyberians the historic information they all crave. But more about that backstory of his in the writing that I plan to upload to AO3 because:

Some thoughts about my current situation beneath the cut because they are a bit rant/vent.

It's been a few months since the last picture of him. Sadly, this picture has been in the backburner since April 2024, but I can't do anything about it but to cope with not being able to do art whenever I want to.

At least there is one less pending thing in my ToDo list... Though I'm happy that I finally can scratch that from the list, I'm kind of knackered today, and feeling disappointed on myself for no reason. I've been working on this piece the other weekend until the flats phase and this Saturday since lunch and finished it around 2 AM on Sunday, with all the interruptions from roommate and such... I don't know why I feel low in self-esteem. Maybe it's just that I'm fatigued, or maybe it's because of pending commissions that I can't advance properly because I did something else instead because of my brain fretting about drawing for myself for a change.

Tch, I'm not sure anymore. Hope this feeling of uselessness leaves me... I don't like to disappoint others, and I feel like I've been disappointing to some (and nobody is daring to tell me). I don't know, maybe I think this because of PTSD, fearing that people will leave me or attack me by no apparent reason (I need to deal with that daily from my roommate). I'm fearful, and despite what Spwatchton says and keeps telling me, I'm always an scaredy rat afraid of losing the little friends I have...

Maybe that's why I had the impulse of doing this picture... I wish I could heed his advice but somehow, I fear for myself and my future the most. Roommate drains me too much (even took away 10 cents I found on the streetwalk the other day). This indenturation is destroying my remaining sanity and eating up my motivation of doing art because I find no sense of closure when I do drawings any more (maybe because I value myself so little and I need others to refill my value with objective opinions, but such is hard to come by without asking for it and risk to appear to be rude).

I better head to sleep now... This brooding is not healthy.

More or less the dirty sketch of the character model sheet that the teacher asked us to do. Will do later a digital version cleanup. This is Kurio, my Addisona, investigative journalist by trade, hunting for the whereabouts of the 1st rated salesman who caused so many gossipitry in the past. Anyway, he's a self-insert for a side mini projekt that I plan to upload to Archive of Our Own, whenever I get that invite in my inbox.

I plan to use the future 3D model as my vr avatar and youtuber avatar too to represent myself in the UT/DR fandom. Though I speak for Spwatch most of the time, he's more of his own guy than an obscure metaphor of my broken psyche 🫠

On different news, there is an European branch of Fangamer, which means i'll have access to Spamton merch whenever the kromer allows ;-;

One of my assignments for the course I'm doing asked to make a prop or weapon in 3D, design and final object. I decided to make it worth my while to push onwards my personal project, and thus I made the Chanterelle Noir of my Swatchling character Glace in 3 days 👀 It doesn't reach 20K tris 📐 The inspiration for the weapon was to stylize a WALTHER WA 2000, as Master Swatch would create himself to gift to his son to protect the palace and the kingdom from any enemies daring to approach the Dark Fountain or Her majesty.

Going to leave Glace's card just as reference reminder.
