Nobody I know talks politics so I am going to scream into this void a bit as I try to process what is happening.
The Trump administration abducted and deported a legal resident of the USA to a death prison camp without due process. The Supreme Court has upheld an order that says they are required to "Facilitate" his return back to his wife and child. Trump and his team are refusing. So baring some lower court shenanigans to try and bicker on specific wording, we have reached the true Constitutional Crisis™. What does that mean?
The following is how I understand it. Correct me if I am wrong.
In USA we have 3 branches of government that act as balances against each other. Congress writes laws. Executive enforces/enacts the laws. And the Judicial ensures due process and settles fights when stuff doesn't work. Each has shit they can do to fuck with the others, but not too much. Any two can shut down the third if they team up.
So the Judicial orders Trump's team to bring this man home. (His name is Abrego Garcia.) They refuse. Easy fix. The court can find them guilty of Contempt and throw them in jail. They keep throwing Trump officials into jail until someone follows orders. Problem solved. But who does the throwing? The executive branch. And they work for Trump...
So at it's most peaceful, Trump issues pardons for his people and orders them released. Probably isn't how it is supposed to work, but it would be enough. The courts try to charge more officials with contempt, and Trump keeps the pardons flying to match. Stalemate. Who breaks it? Congress.
But wait. Congress is the single least functional group of blood stained retirees since the old folks home tried digital bingo. If they did their jobs for once, they would look at both sides and pick who was wrong. They would then impeach the ones in the wrong. (Please God, let them pick Trump.) But as we know, congress won't do that. It takes 2 out of three members to have both a soul and a spine on the same day. Never going to happen.
So how do we break the stalemate between Judicial and Executive when congress is being senile in the corner? The military. Eventually the Generals will step in and pick a side. They declare martial law and force one side to back down or die trying. Violence wins the day.
So it's a good thing all the military leadership swear an oath to the constitution instead of the president. I am so glad Trump didn't fire all the Generals who wouldn't kiss his boots....
Oh no...

Here is an idea. What if we skip the collapse of society and the age of resourse wars?
We can just skip straight to the post money / post scarcity utopia? Anybody thought of that?

Just because one of your chicken eggs hatched a fire breathing dragon people think you’re evil. But you’re still just a regular farmer trying to make a living while dealing with an overprotective dragon, heroes that want to kill you and fanatics who want to worship you as the new Demon Lord.
