BREAKING NEWS~ 17 year old student wounds four in French high school shooting

On thursday 16th March, 17 year old Killian Barbey who attends Tocqueville high school located in Grasse, Southern France, has wounded four people in a school schooting. It seems to be that he was inspired by other brutal mass shootings such as the Columbine High School massacre and after watching videos based around this, he carried out his attack. He also seemed to be greatly fascinated by firearms.

“It was a total panic” says Achraf, a student who attends the high school. “The gunshots were at 4 to 5 meters from where we were. We thought the gunman was coming towards us. We heard him shouting.”

Barbey was carrying an arsenal of weapons; this included two handguns, a rifle and two grenades. However, the shooting ended in his arrest.

A source says that “The individual does not seem to be known by the police”. A second source says that it appears that there were two students openly firing at the school’s head master, adding that the suspects did not seem to be militants. The second source says that “One of the two was arrested and the second fled. There was panic and the students took refuge in the (neighbouring) supermarket”.

The injured were hospitalised and are now being treated.
