I've seen a few posts like this but none really circulating within the actual circles they're targeted at so I'm making one in the hopes it reaches the people who actually need to see it and know about it:

mistagging stuff like "self harm" and "suicide" to say stuff like "s3lf h4rm" and "sv1c1d3" is so fucking dangerous.

You cannot expect people who want to avoid content like that to know every single tag we are using and block all of them. Please just use "self harm tw" and other tags like that that people will already know to block or already have blocked when you're venting because otherwise the posts still show up in the feeds of people they could trigger.

by mistagging your content you are genuinely putting people in recovery or those who have recovered at risk of a relapse. I don't care if this sounds dramatic but mistagging your content could genuinely lead to somebody seriously harming themselves or worse.
