YES to all of this! Like, it's so good it makes me want to write fanfic again...

My Lady Jane is a romantasy genre alternate history of England with shapeshifters and a modernized narrator who explains these hilarious things to you like before DMs people wrote love letters to each other and had someone pass them around for them, and while I know this sounds stupid, listen to me, it is the best thing since sliced bread and it nourishes the soul. It's just such a campy fun time with electrified chemistry, comedy gold, political intrigue, insane punchline modern deliveries that you forget you're watching a period drama in the first place. It has it all: enemies to lovers arranged marriage, alternative history England with high fantasy elements under a backdrop guise of period drama, raunchy comedy, political intrigue, espionage and murder, intense snogging sessions, diverse cast, hilarious narration, and the list goes on. If you are not watching this show, you need to be because it's fucking amazing.

i do have to respect that everyone was like "bridgerton is the most cheerfully historically inaccurate horny on main period drama romance show with a very anachronistic soundtrack to be released in 2024" and my lady jane was evidently like "bet"

Season 1: I really want kids and marry for love. So I'm gonna marry this man who says he can't have kids and probably doesn't love me!

Season 2: I think I love this girl. So I'm gonna propose to her sister!

Season 3: I wanna win my friend back. So I'm gonna teach her how to woo men (especially me) and get unhinged jealous when it starts to work.

The Bridgertons trully are sharing a single braincell and Violet is in charge of it most of the time, lol.
