For the confused:

I just discovered that I'd actually drawn a fair amount of art in 2014 that I'd completely wiped from my memory. Because this functions as my art archive as well as my modern art blog, I've reblogged it here for safekeeping.

When I first started this blog in 2017, I was genuinely and honestly convinced that it was my first foray into drawing characters. I had no idea how much my art had developed and then promptly regressed. I'm still a bit confused as to how something so big has completely disappeared from my memory, as I remember making the individual drawings but only AFTER I see them, and some I have no memory of at all.

I'm honestly extremely confused about everything right now, but this entire event is being tagged "#the 2014 interlude" in case you don't want to see old art on my blog.

Submitted by Ewa (thegladka). (I drew this at three in the morning, knowing I wouldn’t be able to sleep otherwise, so please pardon my handwriting.)

This poem was published in a collection entitled Niepokój (“Disquiet”) by Tadeusz Różański in 1947 and tells about how a man (the author being the narrator), aged twenty, has seen more in this brief span than anybody should ever see in a lifetime. He tells you, "I am not young,” because the war has made him an old man. I interpreted this slightly differently, because from the minute I saw this, I knew that those were words that would have been Feliks’. Broken, defeated, and crushed- but not beaten. He’s seen so much in his lifetime, and he has to pretend in front of everybody that he’s like, totally fine because he knows that he won’t ever be pitied if he breaks down- just to pick himself back down. “neither my cherubic laughter nor the spring in my step”

The last three lines are especially fitting because Feliks is often identified with a phoenix, who can be killed time and again but will always rise up out of the ashes. "I don’t believe in resurrection of the body.” He doesn’t think he can do it anymore.

My drawing is purposely unfinished, to how a certain sketchiness, how he doesn’t even know who he is anymore. “I am twenty years of age. I am a murderer. I am a tool. as blind as the sword in an executioner’s hand.”

I will definitely be drawing more on this, this is just a preliminary drawing- more to come.

“Pojedziemy na wagary” (“We’ll run away and we’ll play truant”) Okay, so it’s a song- it’s a Polish classic, written by Andrzej Zaucha and performed here by Krystyna Prońko and Janusz Szrom.

This is my favorite song for the two of them, and in my head, it plays out something like this: Feliks and Erzsebet are tired, perhaps this is during the Post-WWII Communist era, of their gray everyday life, and Feliks suggests making a run for it, to try and go back to who they were before the War changed them and broke their spirits. You probably can’t tell because my paper ended too quickly (oops, hehe), but the dichromatic Feliks at the bottom of the page is holding his hand out for Eliza to join him, mirroring a memory where young Feliks grabs a surprised Eli and runs off to try and conquer the world.

((Also, yes, I know garden master isn’t a word but gardener just doesn’t fit with the melody)) —-

Okay, so, I was kind of babysitting while my mom was catching up with an old friend she hadn’t seen in forever. ANYWAY, the little girl was a huge MLP fan and spent half the time explaining all the different ponies to me. Then, she spent the rest of the time drawing the ponies and asking me to design humanizations after I told her I liked humanizing nonhuman characters.

ANYWAY! My question is, can you all tell who this character is? ^_^ I want to know if I’m THAT horrible at it after being forcibly introduced to the fandom in a day xD

Note: this is NOT my usual art style xD I actually like the way this turned out very much, though! Note to self: practice drawing with this sort of eyes.

Weird story: a few days ago, this random person in the hallway walked up, tapped me on the shoulder, handed me a piece of chalk and left. I’m fairly sure she nicked it from math class, but that’s not important at the moment. I shrugged and pocketed it, forgetting altogether about it until earlier today I admit, I wasn’t paying attention in English (do you blame me? I haven’t learned ANYTHING since I came to Poland) and I painted it with a Sharpie. And so, I came to realize that my favorite medium for art is Sharpied chalk. These are some of the results :) I made some better ones later, but I don’t have photos unfortunately, so… you know. Just a friendly reminder to all of tumblr. how much I suck at art. (Actually, I’m not half bad at abstract like this but it’s horrible if I actually try to make something with premeditation)

I love the way this looks, how Max is the only real one and he’s looking up to see a group of ghosts and ahh… I really want to make a RP like this now, with Max as the main character and everybody else as ghosts. This is the last installment in which I’ll be working with this piece for now, and I am really pleased with the result.

On another note, I finally got a proper desk lamp, not that junk I was using earlier, so my photos will be better-quality from here on in.

APH (Ancient) Slavs (character from the ‘Axis Mundi Convalia’ dōjinshi by LittleLadyPunk and Vanitachi on dArt)

If I’m usually cautions with Hetalia OCs, Slavs has to be the single exception. When reading the comic, me and iggy-aph would fangirl every time he’d show up. If any one character deserves to be canon, it’s this guy! He’s mysterious, funny, laid-back, and good-looking on top of it all. And can see ghosts on All Saints’ Day (Zaduszki).

I’m opening commissions!

Hey, guys! I need a bit of money of my own right about now, and I wanted to be able to buy something nice for some of my friends, as birthdays and holidays are coming up scarily fast. Because of this, I’ve decided to open up commissions! I’ll explain pricing as follows:

$5/hour of work, though this is negotiable depending on the piece. Of that, I would like to receive upfront $10 per A4 drawing and $5 per A5 drawing (approx. a 8′x11′ sheet and half of that)

I’m doing it like this because the style of art I want to commission is very detail-intensive and often takes a lot of careful focus to complete (Frenetic took me over 14 hours to complete, in which case I would give the person ordering a discount for a large order).

I can do:

B&W (here shown on A4)

B&W + base color (here shown A4, no additional charge)

Commissioner-defined color spectrum (seen here as the second half and the following picture, each A5)

I also do fanart (!! with reference pictures!!) in one of the aforementioned styles. Here, price is negotiable.

The way this would work is that you would contact me by an email I set up for this purpose (lanasaphrontistery@gmail.com) and name the size, color spectrum, and style desired. Just so you know, I have a PayPal where you can pay me, and we can talk about other options if such are necessary.
