Weekly evaluation
Unfortunately I wasn't in when we actually got to perform our pieces from little revolution, however what i got from rehearsal was that the person I was playing with clemy is actually quite a lot what I'm like in real life. I noticed that my character Kyle often repeated the words 'innit' and 'like' a lot during his sentences and even though I say it a lot as a person I found it so hard to actually say it from the script and it was in the style of verbatim again so every single word had to be correct otherwise it wouldn't be appropriate in the piece. Kyle hated the police and he said that its there fault that the youth are what they are like today and personally I can agree with this to some extent but I'm not going into too much detail. I got the impression that Kyle was a disrespectful person just by the way he was speaking to the interview in the scene and was talking to him/her as if they was one of his mates. When me and Clemy would rehearse we would say our dialogues Infront of each other so we could both listen and watch due to Clemy playing my mum. The scene really worked when we were both on our feet and on stage however Gavin told me that would I put a lot of emphasis on the word innit and it was only because he said it so many times, so Gavin then demonstrated how he would say it and told me to play it more naturally and honestly I felt a lot more comfortable afterwards because it felt more and natural.

Show report- 2nd show
To be honest I think I let myself down a lot in the second show because when I was saying my dialogue with Sophie my mind had completely gone blank and she managed to pick up the line and we kept the ball rolling. As a company though I think it was the better one of the two because you could tell we was all there for each other if anyone had lost their line and we was actually fighting as company. I feel as if the audience were a lot more welcoming and warm because there reactions were on point and I walked off stage feeling as if We truly moved them in some shape or form. They were very loud and bubbly but in a good way and I think it helped the actors out a lot too because it gave us something to react off of. My strengths in the performance was that I believe I was able to show that I was really struggling to explain what had happened to Adam and my weakness was I would constantly look at the ground if I was looking for a line or trying to get something and I was directed by Gavin and Carleigh to look up but not directly at the audience. To improve on my weakness I thought it would be a good idea to learn a specific monologue from a play and try my hardest not to look at the ground the whole time and this will help hugely if I practice this everyday. I don't think we achieved Dennis Kelly's intention just right in the second show because I think the audience were still laughing from the performance of Brian and Danny however I still think we managed to play with their emotions slightly as I could tell from their facial expressions.

The permanent way
The Permanent way is a play by David Hare and it is about the British government deciding to privatise the country’s railways. Hare takes real life conversations and speech into this play coming from people such as passengers and government ministers. The play is a piece of verbatim theatre based on various interviews of people involved. I wouldn’t exactly say that David Hare had written the play, I’d say he collated it with some editing obviously to make sense. I think that there should be more plays in the type of verbatim because it's actually real life situations took into a script and it's a much harder challenge for the actor to portray because every little detail on the script is whah that character would say or do exactly.

Daily account at beginning
The company had jus gotten back from lunch and Carleigh had told us to get into pairs so the person who was closest to me was Alfie Clark. We then both got given roles from Carleigh to play and Alfie was an interviewer and I was my younger self, however I had to put myself in the right mind set because I had to think back of a time when I was very angry and couldn't get what I want. After we had both got into character Alfie then began to ask me questions as an interviewer and asked why I was so angry. I began to tell him as a 9-10 year old me that I was at school one day and all of my friends had brand new phones and I'd never had one before, so I asked my mum if I could get one and the straight away answer was no and it made me so angry I felt like all my friends would just neglect me because I didn't have what they had and it just built up inside with anger (I know it sounds pathetic but I was young and a very angry child) . After I had told my story Alfie would then portray a younger me and I would have to ask him questions and it felt so weird asking someone a bunch of questions on why he was angry when I knew he was playing me. Hearing my story said back to me made me slightly uncomfortable at the start but then I realised he was just saying what I said to him back to me and it was his job to play a angry me.

Overall Evaluation
Honestly, I think the whole project was a huge success because considering we only had six days to come up with an entire piece and come out with what we got I think that's quite the achievement. I was familiar with 'D.N.A' before the process actually started so I'd already had some sort of idea what the play was about and this made me a lot more excited to do it. When we all found out as a company we was doing D.N.A everyone was buzzing and there was a strong positive vibe in the room and this had an effect when we was doing small works shops to contribute to the piece because everyone would be so excited and intrigued. I think The play was most successful at the very start because I loved the idea of having the audience walk in whilst we were already in character so it had already started before they was even in the door, it gave a very weary tension in the room and we was letting our audience know what there in for. I also thought it was hugely successful in the second show because even though we were doubting ourselves afterwards because some had lost their lines, we still managed to keep the ball rolling and someone would pick it up, for example in the second show I had gone completely blank during part of my dialogue and thankfully Sophie was there to step in and pick it up for me. We was all fighting as a company and I don't think anyone should not be proud of themselves. The biggest let down for me was the fact I didn't really do my research on the character Mark and If I did do the research I feel as if I would've learnt my lines a lot quicker and easier because I would of had an insight on what he's like apart from the script, knowing the lines made it so much easier to work with when in rehearsal because we could be directed without any distractions. Looking back at the end product I think I would have changed the whole thing just like carleigh and maybe kept a few things like the beginning but that's only because I feel the same and it would be pointless to do the same thing again, I wish we would have had more time to work on the script and whole thing itself because I know as a company we can do so much better to our abilities and could have brought a lot more to the table. For me learning my lines is something I have to hugely improve on and I can take this on for the next performance. I learnt from the process that when given a short amount of time to do something you have to push yourself if you really want it, and I can probably say that for the whole company too. Doing all the games and little work shops at the start really made us bond as a company and even though it was wasn't perfect at the start we managed to grow and get stronger and the piece would not have worked of we wasn't a strong company. In both shows the audiences were great and were really warm, however I thought they was a lot more enthusiastic in the second one. We achieved to move out audiences and make them feel a mixture of emotions throughout the play such as sadness, laughter, anger and sympathy.

Show report- 1st show
Overall I think the first show was a lot better than the second one because I feel as if it ran a lot smoother and hardly anyone missed their lines. The audience loved it and not only because of the amazing feedback they gave us after the show but their reactions to the performance during it too such as when there were funny moments they would laugh and if the scene was quite tense you could see that they were drawn into it by their faces. This helped us actors too as it gives something to react off of. I feel as if I gave my all in the first show and really experimented with my character to show how afraid and in shock he really was, my biggest strength in the piece was when I say my dialogue in the first scene and its so important to the show because it fills in the missing gaps for the audience and I think you get to see who Mark really is. My biggest weakness was my lines because even though I didn’t mess up in the first one I had the price to pay in the second show and I can improve this by living and breathing my script instead of jus going through the lines with another actor at the miskin. I think we did achieve Dennis Kelly’s intention because I really think it was a shock to your audience finding out that Adam is actually alive and we do a good job on convincing them that he's actually gone when really he's been alive the whole time.

Daily account
I have learnt that my character Mark is the person in the play who fills in all the missing gaps, with Jan. He comes across as quite funny sometimes even though he isn't the funny one in the play however in scene 1 you can really see the guilt that's built up inside him and he shows this by often repeating the words 'only a joke' and 'you know' and also stuttering quite a lot when trying to pronounce vocabulary, this gives the impression that he's nervous and perhaps uneasy. In general the story makes you think about things all the time and how easy it is to get in a tricky situation even if you haven't done a thing, it makes you feel sorry for certain people such as the 'innocent postman' because if you think about it deeply it could be someone you know such as you father or a close friend and it's not fair they should spend their life in prison for being completely innocent. I also learnt that my character Mark is extremely nervous and scared at the fact he may of just killed Adam and I have to portray him like this in scene 1. One specific time when I progressed as an actor was when we was in our Groups and had to play either a policeman or our character(Mark) and this gave me a lot more to think about and gave me a clearer background of the character so it was easier to play him. Also during rehearsal carleigh took us through a journey of the play and it made me feel like I had actually killed one of my friends and we was able to really Molde the characters we were through our bodies for example Mark has a particular posture to him and gait which is different to everyone else's.

20 questions on my character...
1. What does your character like/dislike about people? He likes it when you respect him because then he will respect you back and have no problem. Also someone who's up for a great laugh. He doesn't like boring people who are dull and isn't too sure on people who are full themselves. 2. What is your character’s favourite food? Marks favourite food is ready made pizza from Asda. 3. What is your character’s real birth name? Mark Damien Watson. 4. What one word best describes your character? Young. 5. Where does your character live? Lives in dartford but used to live in lewisham. 6. What was your character’s parents’ relationship like? He didn't really get to see them around each other because his father died when he was 3 years old and Mark hasn't really spoke about it with anyone, not even his mum. 7. Does your character have siblings? Mark is a only child. 8. When was the last time your character saw any member of their family? Mark hasn't been home for 3 days running. 9. What is your character’s first memory? Marks first memory was when he went chesington and got banned for 5 years because he pulled the trigger on one of the rides to make it stop right away. 10. Who is your character’s best friend? Jan 11. What annoys your character more than anything else? When people don't believe him, when he's actually telling the truth. 12. How far will your character go to achieve their goals? To be honest Mark doesn't really care where his life goes, he doesn't have any ambitions. 13. What is one thing your character dislikes about them self? He hates the fact that he grew up without a father but he doesn't seem to think it has had an effect on his upbringing. 14. What one act in your character’s past are they most ashamed of? When he told his mum to piss off. 15. Is your character a better leader or a follower and why? Mark is more of a Follower because him and Jan are the younger ones of the group and often look for guidance from Phil and others. 16. What is the thing that has frightened your character the most? When Adam fell down the deep blackness bellow him because he truly had thought he was dead. 17. Does your character have any bad habits? He sometimes has a slight stutter when he speaks if he is nervous or trying to get something out. 18. Does your character believe in fate? No, Mark believes everything just happens because we choose to do it and fate does not exist. 19. What are your character’s immediate goals? To enter the upcoming motor cross race and win £2000 but give half to his mum. 20. What are your character’s long-term goals? Just to live life as it is and maybe to have matured a lot more as well as getting his life together.

Casting day
To be perfectly honest, I think I let myself down a bit with the tumblr work as I posted on the wrong page and it had a massive impact on my casting role. Now that I have looked a little bit into the character of Mark I'm quite intrigued into how I can play him and experiment with it. After hearing everyone read in rehearsal it's made me feel a lot more confident considering we only have 6 days, the energy was quite low at times but still had potential and it was the first time we properly read the script out together. I'm looking forward to actually doing the piece and the fact we could possibly bringing outdoors indoors is quite exciting.

Who I want to play and why?
1st choice: Richard I liked the character of Richard because when I was reading the pieces of script that we had to prepare ourselves for, I found that I liked his dialogue the best because i feel as if there was more words and lines that I could work off and experiment with. Also I wanted to find out more about the character too just from what I had read in the script. I think he has a strong personality and is a potential leader and I can compare him to myself. 2nd choice: Danny I liked the character of Danny because unlike Richard he is nothing like me, it would of been a challenge for me to portray a character like him because he comes across as an opposite to the ground and he has his life all planned out. He wants to be a dentist which is quite unusual for a Teenager.

What I know.
I know that the group of people in the play are all friends.
I know Brian doesn’t like the taste of earth.
I know that Adam is not dead.
I know that at the beginning of some scenes Phil is either drinking or eating something.
There are 9 characters all together.
I know Adam is a outsider.
I know they set up a innocent post man for the death of Adam.
What I think I know?
I think there is some sort of relationship between Phil and leah.
I think Brian may have some sort of disability or is just a childish person.
I think that Phil is the villian of the group because his friends take a negative approach to him.
I think they are around the age of 15-16.
I think Phil has secretly not liked Adam for a while.
What I want to know more of?
I want to know what Adams personality was like before the incident happened.
I want to know the history of Phil and leah.
I want to know if the innocent man got out of prison.
Does Adam go with his friends or stay in the environment he was in before?
If Adam may feel neglected?
I want to know a little more about the characters because I feel as if I don’t know them properly yet.
Who has the most authority in the group?
The beginning and end.
