LOVE
You guys are close, though, aren’t you?
How did YOU start talking to her?
HARLEY
Morse code.
LOVE
Shit. I don’t know Morse code.
Find Us Alive, ep. 29: Too Much/Too Little
--
Rambling under the cut.
Had this idea 100 years ago but never got around to it. Also had to make myself researching/looking for reference bc I was going to end up learning Morse code/becoming a CB radio operator, so this is definitely not super accurate. Reminding myself that it is okay to make something that looks cool to me bc it is fan art and not an illustration for Morse Code magazine.
The mug says "COFFEE" and is a riff on mugs that say things like "definitely not coffee" or "probably whiskey", etc. I think Harley found it in the break room and adopted it. Lancaster doesn't think it's funny. Harley doesn't really think it's funny either.

More linocut practice from a few days ago. 2x4", scrap denim.
"Nulla dies sine linea", "not a day without a line drawn"-- apparently the motto of ancient Greek artist Apelles, according to Pliny the Elder (and Wikipedia). I was just looking for something cool to print, but the phrase has really stuck with me. Remembered to flip my design this time.

First art of 2024. Linocut on scrap denim, 4x4". Based on an illustration from The Scalpel (1911, yearbook of the Women's Medical College of Pennsylvania), via @internetarchive and in the public domain.

I always forget to flip things for printing but this was good practice.

Reading something that keeps referencing the hadal zone (a term from oceanography for the deep ocean region extending from 6,000-11,000 meters), but I keep reading it as "halal zone".
