he loved gwen. with all of his heart, but that was the problem, sometimes, see ?? no matter what she did, or how she tried to help, he was always scared for her. he always wanted to protect her. and she made it very difficult sometimes, being so … incredibly her. at times, he liked the help. someone he could rely upon in a fight; someone who knew what they were doing at an intellectual level. but gwen was … much to fragile; much too human, to survive some of what peter himself had been through.

get hit by a truck; he bleeds. if she did, she’d die. and the truck wouldn’t stop.

so he was worried. really worried. brushing a finger over her skin, he took a careful breath; and looked up to her; eyes fixating on hers. so full of love. and he understood her reasoning. but he didn’t agree with it.    “    i know. i know, i just … all that worry you have watching me try and do it on my own ?? i have more worry for you while you’re there. i’m … i’m able to take a lot of what’s given to me, gwen. i won’t die. if … if they turn on you, you might. and i can’t let that happen. not because of me.   ”

          she understands the concern.  she understands his speech.  she’s a lot more mortal than he is.  she doesn’t come with advanced healing.  or the ability to recover from intense kinds of physical trauma.  but there was absolutely no way in hell that gwen stacy could let peter do this alone.  she was getting a little better at helping without getting in the way.  but she couldn’t always stay behind the barriers.  she couldn’t just watch from the sidelines and hope that peter would be okay.  not when her brain was coming up with solutions to the million and one problems he faced when he donned the red and blue suit.

         ❝ if anything happens to me, it’s not your fault ❞

          sure, it probably wasn’t the comforting words that she should be speaking.  the good old nothing’s going to happen spiel.  gwen’s smart enough to know that she can’t promise that.  not when she’s throwing herself into danger to help out peter.  but that was her choice.  it was her decision.  and it would be her consequence if she suffered because of it.

just wanted to apologise again for today. i’ve tagged everything as i don’t want to delete it as i think it’s important. but i really am sorry for being uneducated and ignorant. i didn’t meant to hurt or harm anyone, and i’m really sorry to those who i made feel unsafe/uncomfortable today. i feel horrific, and i know it’s my fault so i’m not saying this for sympathy or pity, but i just genuinely feel terrible knowing i’ve upset people.

i’m gonna disappear for the weekend, and when i’m back i might look at remaking gwen so that people don’t have to feel awkward if they want to unfollow/sb both because of today and also due to how i think people currently feel about me. i just want you all to be safe and happy on here. whether that means i’m part of your dash or not.

i didn’t want to pester anyone but if anyone would like to chat about it/would like a private/personal apology from me please let me know.

once again, i’m really sorry. and i’m sorry to the people that had to do some emotional labour to educate me on something i should know much more about. thank you for those who have reached out to better educate me on this. i promise i will do better.

I don't think it's transphobic to want to explore a feminine form of a male character at all, and takes away a certain gaze that the screenwriters originally had. I think it'd be an interesting take, ngl.

as a slight additional note, genderbending is definitely bad and makes a lot of people uncomfortable, but you can always make the character trans! there's a lot of tranmasc peter ideas floating around, but a transfem peter is an interesting take too; so long as you air on the side of understanding and educate yourself with trans things, and don't act f/etishy about it.

i'm going to be honest, i just don't feel comfortable writing a trans character as i'm cis and it's not an experience that i have lived through and as such, i feel personally that it would be wrong for me to try and write a trans character when my only lived experiences are as a cis person.

i could possibly explore the idea of using ana de armas as spiderwoman, but more so that she's a variation of a spider-person from ITSV (ie. peni/noir/etc) but i also don't want that to come across as genderbending either!

i think the safest bet to ensure that i'm not doing anything harmful, is to stick with gwen and peter as my muses! but i appreciate you letting me know!

Why did he care?

He says this with a shrug, as if it’s completely normal. “Training others is difficult because not everyone does that or can think that way, so I get frustrated and it gets more brutal. Not to mention my training before working for Stark was apparently not normal.”

Kane doesn’t care to elaborate on that, instead he glances around the room at her question, trying to figure out how to answer. Finally, he just speaks without thinking; “It was either work for Stark, join the FBI, or prison.”

He clears his throat after saying that, eyes finally landing on her. “Stark pays for gas, car repairs, anything. So really, it’s no bother. You’re more hindering my job by not letting me take you home.”

she  listens  to  him  like  it’s  the  most  interesting  thing  she’s  ever  been  told.    and  in  a  way,  it  kind  of  is.    she  wants  to  know  more  about  him.    because  he  seems  so  mysterious.    if  they’re  going  to  be  spending  time  around  each  other  -  she  wants  to  know  a  bit  more  about  this  man  who  was  supposedly  driving  her  home  tonight.

brows  knit  a  little  at  his  mention  of  med  school.    and  she’s  somewhat  impressed.    looking  over  his  features  as  she  finds  her  words.

        ❝  you  went  to  med  school?    what  kind  of  training?    hold  on  —  prison?  ❞

gwen’s  trying  her  best  to  keep  up.    but  he  flicks  between  major  developments  so  quickly  that  she  feels  a  little  spun  out.    completely  ignoring  the  topic  of  how  she’ll  be  getting  home  tonight.    they  can  discuss  that  after.
