Reasonn why we look u to Nadine as an independent woman. Nadine Lustre may be one of the most popular artists of today, but she refuses to be just that. The Multimedia Princess started out as part of the girl group known as Pop Girls, and her career really skyrocketed after starring in Diary ng Panget. In the film, she was paired with James Reid, and violá—little did they know that they gave birth to a tandem that would make people swoon. 

I was there when James and Nadine are still starting. When they're still friends , the bond that they had with each other. I don't really ship a loveteam not until JADINE happened . From the start I really want them to in a relationship not just on screen but also off screen and I'm positive that this wish of mine will come true .The day James announced to the whole araneta that she loves Nadine made me the happiest fangirl ever , imagine years of waiting and it finally happened . And now look how far they are now❤. But something unexpected happened, they broke up. The reel-to-real couple decided to part ways recently. I never thought Jadine' break up affects me so much. Si much than that being the strong lady that she is, Nadine took this as an opportunity to explore her individuality and proved to us that she is indeed an independent woman.

Let's dig deeper as to why Nadine is truly inspiring:  

A woman of substance. Nadine Lustre has been in the industry for over a decade now, and with every project, she never fails to stun and deliver, but what makes her even more inspiring is her determination to use her stardom to good causes. She uses her platform to raise numerous advocacies, such as anti-plastic and mental health awareness campaigns.  She recently joined The Rainbow Warrior’s Ship It Back tour, a global campaign aiming to minimize the production of single-use plastic. She is truly not just a pretty face!

LadyBoss. There's no stopping this goal-driven woman to venture into the business world. She launched her own line of beauty cosmetics and made a buzz the moment it was announced. Her love for the beach is evident in the project, with a motif related to crystals and the sea. It was a huge success, and according to her, she will try to improve and release more of it soon. Itching to get your hands on it, too? 

Feisty and fearless. Heavy is the head that wears the crown. With eyes always on you as a public figure, every move can make hell break loose. Still, Nadine prefers to be a no-holds-barred kind of girl, but she carefully chooses her fights. Her fiery statements about intrigues being thrown at her are what wows us. Even Daniel Padilla complimented her for being unapologetic. He said in a Gandang Gabi Vice segment: “Gusto kong sabihin kay Nadine na ang rock and roll niya rin. Fearless na babae, at alam niya kung ano gusto niya." We stan a palaban! 

Multifaceted. Dubbed as the Multimedia Princess, it is known that Nadine is a versatile artist. Having started out as a singer, she also surprised us with her sultry dancing skills and effective acting chops. She made her film debut on Diary ng Panget, and from then on, she became one of the most in-demand actresses. Her recent movie Ulan is a romantic drama film that tells the story of Maya and her quest for true love.

While she is busy making a name for herself in the film industry, she can also juggle her career as a singer, having released a song with Careless Music Manila, a recording label spearheaded by James Reid and Bret Jackson. This girl is literally everywhere, and we want more of her!

She embraces body positivity. Overcoming your insecurities is quite a feat, especially when you’re famous like Nadine. Known for being morena, she openly tells the public how she once gets so affected when people tell her she is not fair enough. Because of such statements, she became dead set on having fairer skin, just to fit in a society that considers white skin as more beautiful. Soon enough, Nadine realizes that such notions have got to end.

After years of trying to fit on everyone’s standard of beauty, Nadine decided to finally love her morena skin, inspiring all bronze-skinned ladies out there to celebrate the complexion they are born with.

A breadwinner. Aside from being an artist, a singer and an entrepreneur, Nadine is also a breadwinner. At the age of 7, she started doing kid variety shows to support her family. She was exposed to show business at an early age, but she did not mind at all, since she was happy with what she was doing.

Being the eldest to three younger siblings, Nadine nonchalantly accepted the challenge of being one of the providers for their family. She made an effort to put family first above everything else, even herself. An independent woman’s love for those close to her is truly inspiring.

Let me tell you our story;

During vacants, we nap and eat our snacks. Mostly spend it playing spyfall and boring games, but not for us. Sometimes, we cry on public bathrooms and smile after "freshing up,"

when classes began on the month of June no one thought that the people beside, or even the ones behind them will also start to create memories that will last till finals or even the year after.

Its funny, some don't like the other, i guess intimidated by their character or just so, but months passed by so fast and these not-so-stranger-seatmates-anymore became the best of friends- unseparable & #hungry.

Those sad and angry faces began to get to know each other in such unexpected ways. Started with unplanned university parties, birthdays, group activities to sneaky night outs, movie theatres, and dirty groupchats.

These people helped me so much than anyone will ever know. This year was difficult and definitely a challenge but months were never boring with friends that will lighten up your every morning.

So, my advice to you, find friends that will contribute to your growth. Because in this course, there is no time to waste on people that will not stay with you in low and hard moments. Choose your friends wisely, or better yet, let the best people find you in your unplanned & boring days.

A devastating meditation on the human cost of war, this animated tale follows Seita (Tsutomu Tatsumi), a teenager charged with the care of his younger sister, Setsuko (Ayano Shiraishi), after an American firebombing during World War II separates the two children from their parents. Their tale of survival is as heartbreaking as it is true to life. A heart wrenching and dystopian movie where  the story-line progresses through the perspective of the children, Setsuko and Seita. It only shows how kids perceive wars and try to grasp the reality around them which changes very quickly. The 14 year old boy is forced to quickly grow up as the society shows it’s back to all unfortunates, even his relatives. He also acknowledges that there is little he can do to improve upon his circumstances while he does his best in trying to look after his 4 year old sister. It’s a story of tremendous loss and the pain that comes with it, the despair and strive for survival. The siblings rely completely on each other and struggle against all odds to stay together and stay alive. It makes us realize that wars may have winners or losers, it’s infliction may be justified by war mongers but it never spares anyone, rich or poor, winner or loser, guilty or innocent and that both sides have hands drenched with blood.

I lack of self-confidence. Many may say that I look beautiful and talented and I should be proud of it. But I lack the courage to show it. I am afraid to show it. So why do I lack self-confidence? Why am I afraid to show myself and my talents to others?

At a very young age, I was always tagged as “cute”, “pretty”, “talented”, and etc. My mom always wants me to join contests and pageants when I was young. I was not used to crowded places that’s why I trembled and got nervous everytime I joined contests. These trembles and nervousness also were the reasons why I end up as a loser at every contests I joined. I never won any contests I joined as solo performer because I was afraid to come out.

These trembles and nervousness are still present up to this day. Whenever I perform at an audience, I sweat, stutter, tremble and my tummy turns upside down due to adrenaline. Although my self-confidence develop slightly through time, but it is still not enough to make me come out of my shell and be confident with my own talent. I still joined auditions on reality shows on TV but still, I didn’t even make it.

One of the reasons why I became so afraid of showing my talent is because of people’s judgement about you. They always look for your errors and say something bad about it. I once got this kind of treatment to the audience on one pageant that I joined and it really hurt my ego. They laugh at my stutter and my unsure answer on the Q and A portion but they don’t know how nervous I was back there! They were even biased since the only person they cheered was their friend. They just looked for errors every candidates and they believe that their candidate was superior to us all. After that pageant, I never joined any pageant again.

There was a point in my life that I really quit on believing on my dream as a professional singer on TV. I always want to become like Sarah G. someday! But because of my inability to perform in front of many people, this dream will just be an idea on my imagination. I just focus my life on studies which I think would be better for me. I abandoned my dream just because I am afraid.

But I want this to end. I don’t want to die and regret that I never have reach my ultimate dream! I want to spread my wings and release the talent that has been kept for years. I don’t want to be afraid anymore. I don’t want to regret every single day that I have. I want to show myself and be confident. I don’t want to be afraid of judgements of others. I want to be FREE. I want to come out of my shell and face the real world. I will achieve my dreams for my own happiness and contentment in life. I will do it. Because I know I can and I am CONFIDENT about it.

Altruism is the unselfish acts of prioritizing the well-being of others and disregarding the well-being of oneself without the expectations of acquiring something in return. 

“I slept and I dreamed that life is all joy. I woke and I saw that life is all service. I served and I saw that service is joy.” (Khalil Gibran)

Khalil Gibran’s The Prophet uses metaphor and poetry to describe a spiritual journey towards wisdom and moral life. In this short line, Gibran describes the process of learning to be more compassionate through altruism. 

Initially, when he awakened, Gibran was not sure why he must serve; he just knew that it was his duty. When he began to serve life altruistically, it became his greatest source of happiness and contentment. His act of altruism turned into a kind of enlightened self-interest, but Gibran arrived at the belief only because he practiced altruism: altruism is not something that he can learn from books or through rational calculations. He had to transform himself through service before he can live by enlightened self-interest.

My parents have always reminded me to be kind with everyone even when they cannot or would not reciprocate our actions. They believe no good deeds go unheard. That we will be rewarded in life and perhaps it will grant us immense happiness and peace. 

They also reminded me of one other thing, the return need not be from the same person for whom we did something but it can be from any other person or in some other form and when we do something good to someone; we should never do it with expectations of getting something in return. We must do it whole-heartedly, for that reason, what we would feel after serving would be peace and happiness.  

There is a Chinese saying that goes: “If you want happiness for an hour, take a nap. If you want happiness for a day, go fishing. If you want happiness for a year, inherit a fortune. If you want happiness for a lifetime, help somebody.”

"MY DOG, MY HAPPINESS"

Are you a dog lover? I know I am.

Let me introduce to you my Lovely dog, her name is powyl and she's a shitzhu. She was one of the lovely gift I've received in my 18th birthday. My life changed the moment I received her, Powyl is my stress reliever, my bestfriend and my daughter as well. My dog has always been by my side whenever I need someone to lean on and to be with. Everytime I feel lonely, sad, hopeless and broken, my dog knows how to make me happy and smile. It always feels comforting to have a dog around. The joy dogs provide is worth the effort. Animals of all kinds can bring us so much joy, not only when things are going well, but also when we feel pain and are suffering. “Man’s best friend” can be our true and faithful companions through thick and thin. We look to our pets when we are ready to play and laugh, and they instinctively know when we need their support. We all have struggles and challenges in our life, and it’s during those times that our pets can really come in handy to help us find our joy.

Also my dog made me realized that we should make every day special. Sometimes we can let days go by and get swallowed up in our routine. Every day is the same and our excitement is lacking. Have you ever noticed how a dog finds everyday life exciting? They can’t wait to eat, go for their walk, see you come home, or greet a visitor. We can learn so much by observing how our pets have enthusiasm for the simple joys of everyday life. Everyday can be special for us

The opposing team is ready to clash likewise your teammates yet there you are junggling instead of leading and take almost all of the enemy’s damage. Guys if you never had any other choice but to choose tank, do your job such as being the damage taker, support the marksman in farming in short DO NOT FARM ON YOUR OWN. Give the last hit to the damage dealer and stop sulking. A tank has an equal value and worth with any other roles don’t belittle the ability of a tanker. Without that role the team will eventually stumble because a tank is the strength of every squad.

"Cats leave paw prints in your heart, forever and always."

Cats: Adorable furballs armed with razor sharp claws.

I actually started with only one cat and the next thing i knew i already had a bunch of em. I was quite skeptical at first since i'm not really that confident to do such responsibilities but here i am now. Cats are quite peculiar in some ways. They beg for your attention and sometimes they don't. They wake you up really early in the morning by constantly meowing at your face just so you can feed them. They run around and make noises all night long. Taking care and raising them was quite difficult. But in the end it was life changing. Throughout the process an inseparable bond was made. Yes, they can be quite of an annoyance at times (furparent encounters hahaha) but no one can really love you like a cat does, expressing their affections towards you in many unique ways. Bipolar and sentimental creatures that will always have a special room inside my heart ♡.

Urghhh! Alternative/Indie music? Just my type ��👌. I love the sound of the electric guitar and bass that fills in my ears. The lyrics? PERFECTION! Phum is really a great artist! Im speechless! Go take a listen and you'll be the judge but Im warning you. Once you hear it, you'll jam with it!

5. Regular (eng ver) by NCT 127

And in comes my kpop fangirling mode! NCT 127's title track Regular can make you go "Dinero, peso, yen, lo quero I want it"! The latin, pop and dance vibes is enough to make me belt out the lyrics and dance around. "vvs my diamonds I don't need no light to shine!" It also brings out my classy rich self??? I don't know, thats just how I jam.

4. Up to you by PRETTYMUCH ft. NCT Dream

This song is super unique and cute! Its a mixture of english lyrics and korean but has a very cute message. Its all about a boy who is willing to do anything for the girl they like. This pop music makes you jump up and down and fall in love with sweet and sugary lyrics 💕

3. Umpah Umpah by Red Velvet

This cute and catchy kpop song by Red Velvet makes it on the third place! The electronic beats and captivating vocals can make you sing "Umpah! Umpah!"

2. Lover Boy by Phum Viphurit

Another indie music on the list!!!! The instrumentals get you on moving and grooving. The sweet lyrics is also a plus point! "Call me Lover boy~"

1. Don't Start Now by Dua Lipa

"Aren't you the guy who?" seems familiar? Yes! Its Dua Lipa's hit song "Don't Start Now"! This song can make dance series of movements but who cares? Its a good jamming song!
