Wangxian A/B/O Bingo by @youhideastar

This was a bind for my @bishopmyrielfundraiser auction item. It's a gorgeous series of every dynamic pairing for the ship, and delves into things I've never seen A/B/O fic touch on.

My first inset on a cover, and I'm obsessed. It looks so fancy and clean. The Untamed has really rich visuals to draw from, I had a lot of fun coming up with the design of this book and figuring out how to execute it.

Some details

All the decorative paper is chiyogami from Mulberry Papers

Bookcloth is silk moire from Hollanders and was inspired by Wei Wuxian's costume.

Each fic has a title page, decorated with a different public-domain painting by a Chinese artist held at the Met.

The title page, and matching spine title, was my time using a foiling tool on my Silhouette machine, and I love the finish it gives.

liu yu ning is not generally my cup of tea looks-wise but i am a frequent victim of the “dirty ‘em up” phenomenon, in which a person’s hotness factor increases by 1000 after being rolled in mud and handed a sword. (classic examples of this include viggo mortensen in lotr and henry cavill in the witcher.)

so i’m currently very disappointed that we’ve left the battlefield and wei shao has to wear his lord of the manor outfits with his hair all the way up. rude!

AITAH for trying to ruin my son’s relationship?

I (652M) have a son (idk maybe 80? 14?M) who has major hots for his milf teacher (milf age M). Teacher is just insanely slutty, absolutely built to take dick. My son isn’t even 100 yet (I think), he would have no idea what to do with all that. Meanwhile, me and me nephew (187M) are older and know how to treat a lady (gender neutral). Ideally I would like to marry my nephew to teacher after having my way with him, but teacher is very attached to son. Son is also rather volatile- teacher pushed him into the abyss at some point and he recently climbed out. He’s nothing I can’t handle, but he keeps threatening to destroy my rpf collection if I keep trying to fuck his little crush.

I decided that soft power was probably the best way to go, so I started writing rpf about teacher and son getting a messy divorce. I gift them to teacher, which he always graciously accepts. Currently I’m working on a harem drama AU where teacher leaves son for nephew after a life changing night in my bed.

Son attacked me unprompted and accused me of trying to ruin his relationship. Which I am, but it’s in everyone’s best interest! Nephew has never had a partner before- not even during his heats- and he could really use an older man to take care of him. Clearly he needs teacher more than son. So am I the asshole?

watching xiao qiao quietly and nimbly navigate wei’s territory (which includes her husband’s heart and affections intermixed with his ever oscilatting temper) is very satisfying but my heart breaks for her every step of the way because she really believed in the truce of active hostility there for a hot second despite knowing his displays were strategic and then an incident occurs and she is being reminded that she is still adrift amidst her current reality. also despite his betrayal towards the wei’s, her grandpa might be the last competent man in that family of cowards and whimpering schemers and like all the bravery and grit were inherited by the the two women and xia qiao is big ‘accidentally became important and essential at work’ energy and so my girl has to be a balm to a generation worth of rage and vengeance and also be the peace conduit for her clan and province; even with all the action, it still feels very slice of life as the navigation between her in laws and sending her husband off to battle and welcoming hom bcak and managing the household soon feels very mundane and soon becomes the banality of domestic life for xiao qiao and it is so compelling to me

wei shao on the other hand is ping ponging himself between being a sincere husband to xiao qiao and keeping a vigilant vigil for his father and brother and he has choose which pieces of himself he wants to align with because right now in the marriage he still considers himself so separate from xiao qiao (how he didn’t do any of the wedding rituals which a lot were suppose to symbolize marital unity) and that he is such a separate entity from her and nothing pertaining to her is himself in any way, but like apart from his soldiers, she is the only one he can have and does have levity with and ironically be the person he probably was when his father and brother was alive-when he could be spoiled and weak and vulnerable. but the guilt tears away at him because any sincerity he imparts and as he gives in to his affections and decide to unite with xiao qiao is a slight against the memory of the dead and a sleight against his purpose and identity as a wei and so as he feels more affection and he also feels more hate and it becomes a lasagna of feelings but the man should stop disregulating other people emotions to regulate his own since gis love is not just personal feeling but also parlays into peace and prosperity and peace for her clan and yanzhou so at this point xiao wiao might as well say please treat me as land and care for me through a environmental conservation lens

this drama is nostalgic in a way because they marry before everything is perfect between them and antagonism is allowed; it feels so surreal watching them past the arrow scene cause it was rumored hard about them airing and then to only find out they didn’t even have their distribution license?!?!? and bro i spiraled hard and then kinda just made do with that one edit of them and then mtling to the end of the novel and them the alighted yearning had to whicker slowly away but yeah when i saw the premiering eps i was like holy fuck im gonna throw up; i love the clothing of the warlord’s era, truly era before paper was used as stationary my beloved, like i just love how chaotic the atmosphere is and the spontaneity of situations feel both unstable and free at the same time
