“The Governor spoke highly of you.” The stranger said. The bounty man silently continued to clean his weapons as his unwanted visitor persisted. “He said you would be…willing… to help me and my situation…” “That depends…” the bounty man lowly spoke. The nervous man fixed his collar and wiped the sweat off his brow. “D-depends in what?” “We all hold sins, and every sin comes with a price.” The sinister coldness of the bounty man’s eyes made the stranger before him much more nervous. He held his breath at the sight of the tall frame slowing rising to his feet. “Are you willing to pay for yours?”

Did they dress up fancy just to walk around Saint Denis and make fun of the rich people? Maybe. Was there silly fake accents involved? Absolutely.

September 14, 1892
It took us nearly five days to get off of that mountain. In the middle of the night after my last entry we got caught in a sudden blizzard. I was barely able to wake up and follow Elliott to the horses. Elliott led the horses by hand, keeping me as close to him as he could to keep me from getting lost.
I grew so cold that I had trouble walking. My feet felt like ice and I lost my balance many times before we finally found a group of trees growing tightly around a large boulder with a small space hollowed out in its side. Elliott dug out as much snow as he could from the hollow and made me sit as close to the wall of rock as I could. He pulled some of the branches of the trees down and tied them together to shield us a little from the wind.
He hitched the horses between the boulder and trees to give them as much warmth as he could and grabbed the lantern from off of his horse before joining me in the hollow. It was a tight fit but that helped us share body heat and blankets. Elliott lot the lantern carefully and held it close to us for a little extra warmth.
We sat in that hollow for hours before the blizzard finally passed. We sat there huddled close together, praying and trying our best to keep from freezing. When it was finally over Elliott climbed out of the hollow and checked on the horses. By some miracle they were both unharmed and alive. Once he was sure they were good to go and there wasn’t another storm coming, he helped me out of the hollow and onto my horse.
We rode through that next night, not wanting to risk another blizzard and finally made it to Valentine a few days later, having to find and refined paths because of the snow. Both exhausted and not feeling well. We left the horses with the stable master, giving him a little extra to keep a close eye on them for injuries of any kind.
We went to the hotel next and Elliott ordered a hot bath for us both. The hot water felt so good after being so cold. I nearly fell asleep in the tub when Elliott stepped in and asked me if I was ready for some sleep in a bed.
When we got up to the room there was a tray of food on the dresser. Elliott then told me that he had explained to the hotel owner what they had been through and asked that some food and water be brought to the room. He paid extra for this and paid for a week in the room. The owner was happy to have the room paid in advance and promised that we wouldn’t be disturbed so we can recover. He also told Elliot that he would make sure we had meals brought to us for two of the sevens days. Apparently he had lost a relative to a blizzard a few years ago and knew just how much it took from you.
We’re still in the hotel now. The owner has been very helpful and nice, almost treating us like his own family. Elliott slept for almost a full 24 hours when we finally went to sleep. I was worried for a little but checked him for hypothermia or any signs of injury. He was perfectly fine. Just exhausted.

As someone who's also just come back after a super long break; I feel this!! I have no idea why I stopped playing as much, bc I missed this game so much, and just the few days I've been playing lately -- have been some of my better gaming days in the past few months. 😊

That's the last of the stuff i had sitting in my drafts.
I'm not surprised at all. Realistically, rockstar probably pulled the plug a year ago when blood money flopped. The signs were there. It still fucking sucks though.
It fucking sucks because they could have done so much with this game. It's obvious they don't want to branch out and try something new, but even then they could have just copy-pasted concepts that worked for gta and it would have been an improvement. But they didn't even do that. Instead they flat-out refuse to actually service their live service game. All because they can't push for mobile game level microtransactions or add subscriptions upon subscriptions.
And it's a shame, because it felt like red dead was finally on track to recieve some good updates. Finally, after years of being held back by stability issues and the dev team clearly being pulled in a million different directions, maybe we'd get something exciting, things people had been really hoping for - nope, that's when rockstar decides to confirm that they have no intentions for red dead other than to throw it in the garbage.
