favorite jaime/brienne tv show and book moments [part one]
“You want her? Go get her.” So he did.
He put his good hand on the marble rail and vaulted over, rolling as he hit the sand. The bear turned at the thump, sniffing, watching this new intruder warily. Jaime scrambled to one knee. Well, what in seven hells do I do now? He filled his fist with sand. “Kingslayer?” he heard Brienne say, astonished.
“Jaime.” He uncoiled, flinging the sand at the bear’s face. The bear mauled the air and roared like blazes.
“What are you doing here?”
“Something stupid. Get behind me.” He circled toward her, putting himself between Brienne and the bear.

Latimes: “A little bit of the lighter side - CAROL and DARYL. That is an obsession with a lot of…..”
Melissa McBride: “IT IS” (smiling/giggling/adorable)
Latimes: “What do you think…I mean the chemistry there….theres….there’s definitely some kind of romantic type of….”
Melissa McBride: “Theres no denying that there’s chemistry you know I LOVE. I LOVE Norman.”
Latimes: “Is it romantic…”
Melissa McBride: “I can’t say because the writers haven’t given this to us. They are peers. I can say that. They are peers. And they have an amazing, wonderful, relationship, a bond. How they identify with one another, the room they give one another and just…the kind of side-by-side journey that they are going on, each in their own realm, you know is…is kind of a mirror reflection right now and and it’s going to be interesting in season seven to see how these characters alone deal with the situations that they are in….but as far as you know what is the relationship? It’s just Daryl and Carol, I can’t tell you, you know, it has not been written and we just….you know I love working with Norman and there’s chemistry there…”
Latimes: “It’s electric!”
Melissa McBride: “And it’s…the scenes are fun. He’s fun to work with and those two characters I just, I adore them. I adore them for the path. I adore them for how they’ve come together and walked this apocalypse together It’s just…there’s a sweetness there. It’s undeniable!”
Latimes: “And Carol really helped improve Daryl. Really, really helped him discover his own humanity and…”
Melissa McBride: “I think it goes both ways. And I think…everybody in this group has helped each other, we bounce off each other in this group, in situations that arise out of each other’s desires, and stories. and struggles…Always forming, and changing the other characters around…”

Kids are awesome! In moderation.
I’m so excited to have finally finished this comic. I’ve been working on this idea for a while, and expanded it from a shorter comic. Here is the original, and a longer description of why I don’t want kids and why that’s totally okay. Thanks for reading! P.S. I will be selling this comic, along with others at the Ice Cream Comics Expo in Iowa City April 9th!
P.P.S. You can also find it in my Etsy shop!

The biggest problem with the Harry Potter movies…how do I put this?
They substituted too many original book scenes with new scenes but those new scenes did nothing to add to the atmosphere of Harry Potter. If anything, it ruined the atmosphere. And you’re left wondering why they had to add those scenes and why they didn’t keep the original scenes to begin with?
Like for example, look at Ron and Hermione’s relationship.
Deathly Hallows Part I added the scene where Ron and Hermione are playing the piano and a scene where Ron and Hermione are skipping rocks.
But the movie excluded the scene where Ron told Hermione that she could change her surname to Weasley and that he and his family would hide her because they loved her, because he loved her, and they would do anything to protect her.
Or look at how they changed the kiss. Why? Why was it necessary for them to randomly kiss after being chased by a Voldemort tidal wave? Why couldn’t they keep the original scene where Ron talked about how they needed to save the house-elves? Of course, it wouldn’t really make sense, because they never showed Hermione’s obsession with the house-elves to begin with.
Actually, that’s one of the biggest issues with Movie!Hermione. The problem isn’t that Emma Watson was too pretty. The problem was that the movies focused on Hermione’s perfection and her ability to always have an answer to the scene, instead of focusing on her anxiety under pressure or her obsessiveness or any other negative trait.
And don’t get me started on the butchering of Ron’s character.
Or look at Harry and Ginny’s relationship in the books verses the movies. The movies added a scene where Harry zipped up Ginny’s dress but they neglected to add the scene where they had a heart-to-heart talk about how difficult it was to maintain a relationship during war times and how they were putting their relationship on hold, even though it was hard, because they truly loved each other.
I could just start listing specifics.
Like how the Prisoner of Azkaban added the Monster Book of Monsters scene and the choir scene and the candy…smoke…ears scene but they didn’t add the scene where Sirius and Remus briefly explained their backstory or the scene where Sirius enters the tower to get Peter or the scene where Dumbledore and Harry talk about Pettigrew’s life-debt.
The Goblet of Fire movie added so many unnecessary scenes and cut out about ¾ of the scenes from the book in order to do so.
Order of the Phoenix put in a bunch of filler and ended up reducing the DA training to a montage with upbeat music.
The Half Blood Prince added all of these filler scenes for the sake of humor or filler but failed to really show Tom Riddle’s backstory. They added the scene where the Death Eaters attacked the Burrow but failed to add the extensive final battle in Hogwarts. They made sure to show every single moment of Harry getting high from Felix Felicis but never showed him coming to terms with the prophecy.
They even messed up the final battle between Harry and Voldemort. I mean, it was epic but they just…messed up.
Or just look at the Prince’s Tale. They literally changed every single scene and in doing so, they completely missed the point of Snape’s character.
They completely missed the points of a lot of characters.
They weren’t bad, per say, but they just…weren’t…accurate. And as much as I love them, there’s also a part of me that wishes that they could have come closer to capturing the character and atmosphere of Harry Potter.

I dig myself out of this hole. You? Do your job, Jimmy. Prove you can go one week, hell, one day without breaking the rules of the New Mexico Bar Association or pissing off your boss. And don’t insult my intelligence by saying you are doing any of this for me.
