Ferrari is angry at Charles because his most recent relationship ended with a cheating scandal, and he's been seen with a few too many hook ups since. His good boy image is tainted, and they want Charles to settle down at least for a few months.

Max is eager to leave Red Bull, but Mercedes are dragging their feet signing him because he's single and it doesn't fit with their family-first, wholesome image.

Charles needs to date someone long enough to get Ferrari off his back. Max needs to date someone long enough to get the Mercedes contract.

After a drunken night complaining to each other about their woes, they come up with perfect plan .... faking a relationship.

oh yeahhhhh, it's Wednesday

Charles doesn’t blow any money, and instead wins so much it’s a little obscene. 

Max holds his chips for him, and orders glass after glass of champagne for Charles, and gets rewarded for his efforts by getting a hard kiss every time Charles wins—which is pretty much every time he plays anything. 

“It’s because I’m Monégasque,” Charles keeps bragging, even though he’s not even allowed in the casinos in Monaco. “It’s in my blood.” 

“Whatever you say, baby,” Max agrees, pressing more chips into Charles’ hand. He’s not going to stop him when he’s on such a roll. 

Charles’ competitive streak stops him from getting bored, and the fact that Charles is plastered all over him stops Max from getting bored. He gets to hook his chin over Charles’ shoulder and spread his palms over Charles’ tummy as he watches him shoot dice on tables, and gets to run his hands down his thighs when Charles sits on his lap and focuses on the cards in his hands. 

He has a few G&Ts himself, of course, but he certainly doesn’t match Charles because he figures at least one of them can’t be completely shit faced. He’s happy sitting between tipsy and drunk, and basking in Charles’ joy. 

Eventually, Charles does get bored, which Max knows because he starts to get handsy, leaning against a pokie machine and tugging Max in to kiss him. 

Max goes because, well, why wouldn’t he, groaning quietly as he presses Charles body into the side of the machine. Charles eagerly opens his mouth, hands slipping under his shirt to spread across his back, fingers digging into his skin. Max moans into him, titling Charles’ head up with his palm so he can slide his tongue into his mouth, stepping in closer so he can feel Charles’ tight body against him.

also lowkey Carlos got off so lightly. he is the instigator of everything and yet he genuinely has been such a direct beneficiary of Charles losing Ferrari and has never really had to pay any price for it.

Nico stares at him for a moment, mic dipping, and then he holds it back up, a little more focussed. Charles hesitates, wondering what he said that could put that expression on his face.

I have a question. Is Max's reaction to Wyatt the reason why Max is afraid of what Jos will do to him if he ever find out Max is the one hiding his mother from him?

well I guess that Max isn't necessarily scared of what Jos would do to him. I think he understands the risk, and has always been willing to take it - and I'm sure that Jos would react very terribly, something akin to what Max did to Wyatt, yeah.

But I think he's far more scared of what Jos would do to Sophie than anything else.

a day late, but finally read the newest chapter and...

first of all, HUGE COMPLIMENT to you: to make 10.000+ words feel like a minute is not easy, but you pull it off SO WELL. So yeah, huge compliments to your writing <3

The cuteness agression I got from the first part omg. Max saying Leo looks kinda stupid and Charles immediatelly jumping to his defence. Max getting kinda jealous about Charles affection for Leo (the "You're not as cute as him" was hilarious lmao).

Pierre... idk how to feel about him. This is kinda a rechewing of an ask you already answered, on one hand he's trying to protect Charles to the best of his abilities (now also in combo with the promise to Charles father), but he also doesn't have a lot of the info Charles has and Pierre doesn't seem to listen to him most of the time, kinda just seeing Charles being "brainwashed" or afraid of Max and not really taking Charles words at face value or taking in anything he says.

You also write tension INCREDIBLY well. This is something I first noticed in Chapter 30 (i think? the fucked up race at Zandvoort, where it starts of with potential rain). This also applies here. Every "don't make a mistake" made me more nervous, anticipating that he might crash, that max overtakes him, but he made it in the end. (Your A/N at the beginning captured my emotions during that part quite well)

I'm kinda pittying Lando for being stuck in a car with Lestappen. I am imagining a remake of the 2023 Las Vegas Limo with Lando instead of Checo, but now they're actually together.

I'm ... glad(?) he apologised, even though I'm not sure he will ever understand the entire ramifications of what his actions caused. And I understand that Charles didn't accept the apology, because he knows that Lando doesn't truly know what happened because of what he shared.

The end omg. First, yay Britney. Second, the BOMB Charles must have dropped on the world of motorsport is.. i can't even comprehend this properly. We'll see.

Again, THANK YOU for WYGIG, it has been (and still is) an absolute joy to read and it's one of my favourite fics I've ever read <3

(Sidenote: I recently got a rubber duck (I have a small collection), that kinda looks like Max and my friend suggested I recreate WYGIG with rubber ducks. I cherish this woman a lot, but no. Absolutley not)

Leo is adorable, when @saiyanwitcher suggested I make that Charles' gift, I knew I had to do it immediately.

as for Pierre ... well wygig would be an entirely different story from his POV. more of a psychological horror lmao.

and I love lando section of this ch, too. seeing him a little more aware of his transgressions is great!! finally getting some movement on that front.

Hey Maddie, I just wanted to let you know that wygig is one of most favourite ff on lestappen and the last chapter, i was literally screaming and praying that things would remain happy, cause it seemed too happy. But genuinely thankyou for this ff, it has kept me on my toes and I am sooo looking forward to finish it but i am sad too about. Honestly love it, its so well written. Thank you.

WHAT WAS THAT CHAPTER?!!!!!!!!!! I am ofc incredibly happy that Charles won WDC but what he signed?!!!! I am almost 100% sure that FIA will try to do something. Also the fact that the plane ticket is in his bag and MAX MIGHT SEE IT??? Like please dont do what I think you are going to do. Also like yeah everything is getting better and we only have 7 chapters left but like there is still soooo many problems that I dont know how its all going to get better. Wyatt will get better and continue being out in the world. I am still afraid that Jos will do something. FIA can literally ban Arthur from racing and take Charles' championship away. Like the only good thing is Max and Charles' relationship and I NEED THEM TO BE GOOD PLEASEEEEEE. Honestly though I started reading wygig when it only had 5 chapters and its truly been a long but amazing ride. Thank you for this fic, it will truly stay with me forever.
