Also I’m confused why anyone would dislike stone bottoms/pillow prince(sse)s when they’re the clear match up for stone/service tops? If it’s not your thing then they’re not for you so step aside and leave us to dance. Not everyone has to do it the same way.

No black woman writer in this culture can write "too much." Indeed, no woman writer can write "too much." No woman has ever written enough.

Butch/Femme politics
I think people on here in particular need to be reminded that butch and femme have always been just as political as it is social and economic. Identities originating from the working class , the under privileged. To be butch or femme is to be part of a subculture- and subcultures have rules - if they don’t suit you then it’s not for you. Leslie Feinberg , who so many of you adore so ardently , was an avid political activist. Right until the end - as were many other people in zir circle. To be butch or femme is to be bordering on an anarchist ideology. It isn’t upholding capitalism and consumerism , white supremacy and cis normative standards of femininity or masculinity. It isn’t staying silent during literal GENOCIDES and not bothering to even attend a protest or fund raiser , or even a discussion group. It isn’t just sexualising butches and femmes for your own personal gain and then not standing up for the oppressed. If you are not actively promoting an equal society for all marginalised communities then you can’t call yourself butch OR femme. It isn’t just sex , aesthetics, bars and certain career sectors. It’s anti establishment, anti police , anti capitalism, anti colonialism , anti racism , anti sexism, anti homophobia and transphobia, it is OMNIPRESENT and it is life long and it is constant. If you find this ‘too hard’ then you’re not butch or femme. You’re a masc/ fem who adheres to certain parts of a subculture but you are not part of it.
To all the ‘butches and femmes’ on this site who have chosen to stay silent about Palestine , about the election , about the atrocities even in your own country or not- you are not part of this community. I see this most often in white ‘butches and femmes’ the most - and that’s no surprise.
There is still time to do better - to be better. Please take it.
And for the love of god don’t fill the notes with your watery excuses - even those with limited means or abilities can read a book or watch a documentary and share the link. You can all do something.

It’s so strange to me when people try to portray butch4femme as a heteronormative dynamic.
Do they not know a butch will cook her femme a three course meal because butches are caretakers?
A femme will stand in front of her butch at the bar, acrylics bared like a lynx, ready to cut the throat of anyone who criticises her partner’s masculinity or questions their right to space.
A butch will spend quiet nights hunched over a laptop learning how to sew and then hunched over her femme’s favourite dress, fixing it as she sleeps?
A femme will take charge and tell her butch to lie down, go and have that shower, go and get that errand done, because she knows what her baby needs?
There is nothing heteronormative about butches and femmes seeing and validating each other in a way the world refuses to. There’s nothing wrong with butches and femmes slow dancing in the speakeasy they’ve created on the kitchen tiles, the only place that’s ever been created for people like them.
