I am enough!!!!
It doesn't interest me what you do for a living. I want to know what you ache for, And if you dare to dream of meeting Your heart's longing. It doesn't interest me how old you are. I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool For love, for your dream, For the adventure of being alive. It doesn't interest me what planets are squaring your moon. I want to know if you have touched the center of your own sorrow, If you have been opened by life's betrayals, Or have become shrivelled and closed from fear of further pain. I want to know if you can sit with pain, Mine or your own, Without moving To hide it or fade it or fix it. I want to know if you can be with joy, Mine or your own, If you can dance with wildness and let the ecstasy fill you to the tips of your fingers and toes Without cautioning us to be careful, be realistic, or to remember the limitations of being human. It doesn't interest me if the story you are telling me is true. I want to know if you can disappoint another to be true to yourself, If you can bear the accusation of betrayal and not betray your own soul. I want to know if you can be faithless and therefore be trustworthy. I want to know if you can see beauty Even when it is not pretty every day, And if you can source your life From its presence. I want to know if you can live with failure, Yours and mine, And still stand on the edge of a lake and shout to the silver of the full moon, "Yes!"
It doesn't interest me to know where you live or how much money you have. I want to know if you can get up after the night of grief and despair, Weary and bruised to the bone, And do what needs to be done. It doesn't interest me who you are, how you came to be here. I want to know if you will stand In the centre of the fire with me And not shrink back. It doesn't interest me where or what or with whom you have studied. I want to know what sustains you From the inside When all else falls away. I want to know if you can be alone With yourself, And if you truly like the company you keep in the empty moments, You can be everything you need. Lakshmi Ashok

LAKK IN LANKA
Salt in our hair!
17.07.2017 To: 22.07.2017
Take only Memories… Leave only Footprints!
When Marco Polo first visited Sri Lanka back in the fourteenth century he said it was “undoubtedly the finest island in the world,” and the millions of globetrotters who have followed him agree wholeheartedly.
Let me also tell you.. this is not a usual blog where you get to know where to go when and stuff like that. This is just a journal of my experience in SriLanka!

Having some time out in Sri Lanka was just what I needed to get my mind and body back on track. It had been months since I’d strapped on my backpack and I needed a proper break! Flights to Sri Lanka were cheap and from what I knew of the country, it sounded like the ideal place for me.
Sri Lanka was everything I hoped it would be and more. I loved everything about it, well almost everything…
Sri Lanka is an island in the Indian Ocean, just south of India. After spending a couple of weeks there I found it to be an amazingly diverse country with everything you could want from a destination.

Beach, Trees, Road
The first thing I loved about the place were the roads.. The beach is always there when you travel. The view is breathtaking. I personally am an ocean child, and I was literally glued to the window of my car during the drive.
Flying in to Sri Lanka, the air was a bit misty, but all I could see was a sea of green surrounded by white coastline.
I had expected palm trees and beaches, but I didn’t expect it to be so lush and green and hilly as far as the eye could see! The beaches were gorgeous!
Day1
We first visited the Pinnawela elephant orphanage. Elephants. More elephants. Elephants everywhere.

The only thing I dint like about this place was that the elephants were being chained and poky devices were used to handle them. Otherwise it was a delight to watch them happily playing and bathing in water.

My favourite picture from the place

Majestic! Aren’t they?
From Kandy we went to the Spice garden in Mawanella.

Day 2:
We visited the Sacred tooth relic.

We then headed to Kithulgala, the adventure village. We did a range of activities from canoeing, water rafting, ziplining and we trekked to get there, so!!

It was one of the best part of the trip. I am an adrenaline junkie and I loved every bit of the day. We were exhausted to the last bit!

Day 3
We set out to Ella

and then came the Ravana Falls. Such beauty! We were in water for atleast 3 hours. It was that goooooddd!

Day 4
We checked the Unawatuna and Mirissa beaches. They were absolutely gorgeous. We played like crazy in the Mirissa Beach. It was pretty clean too.

The beach has a few restaurants at the shore and live fish counters. I personally do not like fish so dint try them.

We then went to a turtle hatchery. It was sad to know what we humans do to them. But they are so adorable.

Day 5
Nuwarale is the highest point in srilanka and is very cold. We had a night’s stay there. We reached Galle and were super excited for our water sport activities. But apparently it wasn’t the right season so we dint do scuba or snorkelling. But the tube ride, banana boat, jet ski are not to be missed. Was super fun. Water ski is kinda draining but super fun.

We cruised the Madu river and got ourselves some fish spa. This is a mangrove forest and the experience is very beautiful.

We also visited Cinnamon Island, on which two families have been harvesting cinnamon for centuries, and sell their products that will then get distributed all over the world.
Our last stop for the day was Galle fort. This place has lot of dutch influence since it was ruled by them back then. The place is a must visit cause its too beautiful. We were there during sunset and my god!!!

Final day
Colombo.. It is not as interesting as the other places cause it’s a city but I met a dearest friend here. I can never forget her for my entire lifetime. The loved she showed on me is priceless. I miss her the most and would have brought her with me if I could. And she is an elephant, Ganga!!

she is a baby elephant. I swear you cannot experience such love even from humans.
This was pretty much about my trip! I enjoyed Sri Lanka and come back sometime atleast for Ganga!
More Photos:

While this gorgeous nation is often overlooked by tourists traveling to India or the Maldives, it is well worth a visit.
The rich culture, amazing people, and striking sites of Sri Lanka will win your heart in no time.
Until next time, Yours truly :)

Breathtaking Brides
And the “Bride of the Year” Award goes to…
I received so many enquiries regarding which makeup did she opt for, where did she get her wedding clothes from, and so many more. Few brides went on a little further and asked me recreate her look on them!
So whom am I talking about? Nancy it is..! She had always been a fantastic fashion enthusiast and a makeup lover. And the day she booked me, I knew she was going to nail her looks!
Her aunt, she is a 5 feet jar of honey! I’m sure she would have had a lot of nostalgic moments of her wedding.
The other two Brides a lot of my clients would use as reference Subashini and Revathi.

Subashini (the photo above) had a beautiful wedding in Pondicherry, and wore a beautiful pink and orange dress for her reception. For her Hindu wedding, she wore a yellow and hot pink pattu saree with a traditional braid. For her muhurtham changeover she opted a beautiful blue and purple saree. She looked drop dead gorgeous for both her events. I did her engagement as well. (picture below)

Revathi (the photo below), the dancer, literally looked like a Princess in her pastel peach and blue lehenga for her reception and the very traditional red Kurai with the traditional Antique set. For her reception she wore gold with pearls choker set. She definitely slayed in that high bun of hers.

We created three completely different looks for her Church wedding, her Hindu Wedding, and her Reception.
We went for a soft side-swept twist and bouncy waves, with a soft plum and mauve toned eyes and lips for her church wedding. She looked super stunning in that dress from Fair lady. I think it was my favourite look! (see pic below)

The Hindu wedding looks is what got everyone in a frenzy. Her Manavarai look was divine. For the first saree Nancy a beautiful reddish orange. And for the changeover she wore blue. The designs and her blouse were very fine. (see photo below)

She sourced her Jewellery from various stores in Chennai and Pondicherry. We chose a deep red for the lips, and a traditional plait with jasmine flowers. Her Kurai look was so beautiful. A two-toned saree from Pothy’s in Chennai. I loved that blue and coral. It was absolutely stunning. (see photo below)

Now I was so excited when she showed me her Reception outfit. It was so North Indian, and the colours just blew me away. We went for a soft half-up, half-down look. The eye make up got heavier with shades of red and gold with glitters, and kept the lips bright. She looked like she was ready for the red carpet. The Lehenga was from Kay Fashions Chennai, and the jewellery from Green Street (see photo below)
I enjoyed every minute of getting Nancy ready! When I get a Bride who has an immaculate fashion sense, I already know we are going to create unique looks, and I appreciate that Brides are happy for me to style them and we can decide everything together!
