Hello, I don't consider myself a hate watcher. I am just very critical and disappointed in the creator and result of the show.

HB attempting to do a class war plotline is going to be so lame man. People harp on about how good the social commentary is in this show, but the indications that hell is highly hierarchal beyond just having a dictatorial ruling class are inconsistent at best. Imps are shown working all kinds of jobs besides menial manual labor, despite the writers trying to sell them as the "grunt class". Wally has businesses all over hell. Crimson bosses other species around and seems to practically run a whole city as a crime boss. That one imp at the club was being waited on by a bunch of succubus. What the show tells us and what it shows us are two wildly conflicting things. If the show didn’t occasionally make a point of telling you imps are at the bottom in little exposition dumps, you’d be none the wiser.
It's literally astonishing what a storytelling failure the whole thing is, and what an absolute mess. Things that absolutely nobody should need to be told, like "If your plot literally hinges on something being a certain way, don't show the opposite."
#helluva boss critical#Imps seem like the most privileged class#They haven't been shown to do any Wrath specific work and are analogous to humans living normal lives#They work a myriad of jobs and also go to clubs and restaurants and events#Meanwhile demons of sloth and lust work as healthcare workers and in Ozzie's club/sex items warehouse respectively#Imps aren't tied down to a specific job or working at all

Ngl as a Latina, I don't like Vassago's design and just know it could be much better. It's giving white bread, not tortilla
Glass of water on the side for dippin' white bread.

"why would Hell rise against Heaven if they don't care about it that much? All the sinners are just minding their own business."

#It looks like they just want to be the most powerful overlord and that's it#It even benefits them to have no sinners go to heaven

I'm just going to pretend the St. Peter we see in Hazbin was another angel named Peter who usurped the role and the real St. Peter retired or something. This is how I'll cope.
When St. Peter is on screen:

#Not to out myself as a “for real” Catholic but...#Yeah#I like Peter a lot genuinely and it sucks that he's just some white teenager theater twink#He's the first freaking pope of the church#Maybe my standards are high since I just love JCS

"I’m sorry, I just don’t buy Vox as a credible threat, and he shouldn’t have been the villain of season two. He would’ve been a great season one villain, but no, he’s not. My main problem is that the villains of season one were Adam and all of heaven. Now that Heaven’s defeated and Lucifer is at the hotel, what can Vox even do? He’s an overlord against the KING AND PRINCESS OF HELL. Nothing he can do will amount to anything. Plus, Valentino mentioning that Alastor “almost beat him that one time”, Alastor saying “he’d be powerless without the other Vee’s”, and Vox getting defeated and humiliated in his own villain song just adds onto the narrative that Vox is pathetic and not as strong as he says he is. With that being the case, what could he do that would match or be stronger than HEAVEN? Or even LUCIFER? Wasted villain in my opinion, he could’ve been a fantastic villain if he weren’t having to follow up Adam and Heaven. Oh well."

#Yeah#The show should have stayed about Hell for at least one season before moving up to Heaven#Especially since Charlie has patched things up with her dad so he's also against the king of Hell who's an angel#Emily is also on Charlie's side and soon so will Sera#Vox seems like he's just there to muddle up Charlie's plan of redemption but just by encouraging sinners' bad attitudes#He has Katie Killjoy sort of make fun of the hotel and sinners pretty much agree with what they watch#He doesn't do much himself but they show indicates he's made a deal with someone higher up?#But is that someone higher than angels??? Probably not#He could have been really interesting and fun but the show clearly favors the Heaven plot line#I'm guessing Vox is really just there to be a rival love interest for Alastor (Stolas and Blitz again)

Underrated Hazbin Hotel animatic that YOU need to watch right now
youtube
It's both an animatic and a Spanish fan cover of Happiness Hotel from the Great Muppet Caper adapted to the Hazbin Hotel Universe, with English subtitles! The Immediate Murder Professionals from Helluva Boss (Hazbin spin off) check in the Hazbin Hotel and things sure do happen.

Thing I drew for a straw page, which I heavily doubt went through since supposedly it stopped for a while?

me opening the season 2 leaks: oh it is so Alastover
the whole thing with alastors contract is so fucking gauche. like having a white woman cheerfully refer to a black man as her pet. when said black man is also from the fucking segregation era. actual real world slavery wasnt even that long ago when he was supposedly born. and then updating his human design to be noticably black just makes hell stealing his melanin more blatant. did nobody realize how fucking Weird this is. oh wait no its because they just want alastor to be Edgy and dont consider how any of his traits interact with each other.

Out of all the Hazbin hotel characters, Alastor be taking the biggest L in season 2.

I wonder what the actual end game is for HH
Everyone goes to Heaven (or will) via redemption obviously isn't it, especially since we know that Heaven is a little to sanitized. If someone as soft as Pentious hates Heaven and sees it as infantile, then I doubt any other sinner would enjoy it. Besides, Heaven seems a little too centralized and overbearing vs Hell being very open (you do whatever you want and no one really stops you).
Obviously, the main issue is that Heaven should just stop killing sinners, but then why is Charlie hailed a hero [by the narrative] for proposing redemption? Plus, there are issues in Hell that need to be solved.
I feel like the show will just end with people being in both, but it's weird because what does that really say against religion? "Yeah some people go to Hell for certain crimes but it's whatever."
#hazbin hotel critical#I only just realized this#I can't really complain about this since it's definitely beyond the scope of anyone to tackle but ... it could be avoided with better#world building

I feel like HB and HH being in the same universe holds Vox (or any overlord) back from being anything.
Also I really doubt there's going to be any explanation for why Vox is really powerful. I get he has personal strengths in being manipulative and business-orientated, but we haven't really been shown that. He really isn't a smooth talker and actually relies on his hypnotizing power. It kind of looks like he's given everything he wants in Hell just because. Like how did he establish a business empire?
#vox#hazbin hotel critical#Hell was boring before Vox arrived I guess#I mean yeah I'd hate to have died in like the middle ages and spend centuries in boring Hell and would definitely praise some guy from#the 50s who came and brought television and commercial goods#I'd respect him more than Lucifer or any other high status figure but like ...#how did he do that?#it doesn't even look like sinners respect him that much

"Vox is bad. Irredeemable. True evil. Zero remorse"
*average Vox treatment
#hazbin hotel#Vox#Velvette#Alastor#Joking#The old comic account of the vees isn't canon anymore#But I'm really convinced that the Alastor Vox backstory is going to 100% be Alastor ditching Vox#And somehow Vox is going to be painted as the villain and Alastor the victim#The poor guy is completely obsessed and codependent ... I don't think he's really set up to be “true evil ultimate villain”#I rushed this so bad 🎉
