Espaço Júlia: A place for victims of domestic violence (and non-direct victims) to go to receive help. There, they will receive psychological help, as well as being able to go through the paper work with the victims in an environment that’s not as harsh as a police station. It also has a kids play area. Apparently, it takes an average of 7 visits to this facility before they finally press charges.
On our way there, we also saw two statues of women! Not something you really see in Lisbon, it was nice to see. One was of the first female president in Portugal.

Lecture: Human Trafficking and Gender-Based Violence
This, as I thought it would be, was a very intense lecture. It’s an area that I definitely don’t know

Meals for the day including me making my own pasta!! Also went for a walk around the city in the evening. There’s something exhilarating being alone in a foreign city and just being surrounded by all the hustle and bustle!!!

Even though it was a tad foggy, it was a free day and we decided to spend it visiting one of the castles which was legit a 10 minute walk from the city centre. São Jorge Castle, it was beautiful! Lots of artefacts that had been recovered. Putting all the pieces back together would’ve been so hard, I can barely do a 1000 piece puzzle without getting annoyed!
The city views were amazing, and so were the gardens. We came across many peacocks. I had never seen a girl peacock before since they only have boys at Rottnest. I understand why now, they get very loud and very annoyed at the other boys when they are trying to chat up one of the girls. Two guys had jumped in a tree and were squawking at each other- it was terrifying!!
