God does not hang back as a mere spectator when power is utilized to oppress the weak and crush the poor. God does not keep sovereign distance in the face of human crimes. God's angry voice echoes through the centuries: "Cain, where is your brother?"

The Bible uses the word “ĕk” (translated “of” or “from”) to denote origin as in, “that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.” This word is extremely important because the New Testament uses the Greek word “ĕk” in connection to a woman giving birth.
“ĕk” means, “to bring forth from a woman,” or “out from a woman”... When a father is spoken about as the procreating factor, the word the New Testament uses is “gĕnnaō”...
[Mary] was not being impregnated by the male Spirit of God. Rather, the feminine aspect of God would supervene and the miraculous power of the Holy Spirit would envelope Mary, birthing into her someone extremely special and then Jesus would physically enter this world “by” Mary...
It is from this word that Jesus first introduced his church the "ĕkklēsia" (Mt 1:19-20)... The two words that make up Jesus’ word for church are “ĕk” and “kalĕō.” “ĕk” means “out from (by inference of birth from a woman)” and “kaleo” means “to call.” So the church is, in effect, made up of people who are “called out from a woman” or called out of the world to be birthed alive in the Spirit [John 3:8].

Speaking of Genesis actually, even though I’m not really christian, as someone interested in spirituality I’ve always felt there was something SO just so TRUE to the general concept of a primordial paradise and a subsequent fall from it.
In the garden, humans were naked (formless?), vegan only eating from plants, always mindful of and present with divinity (”walking with god”), able to communicate with the other beings there… like does this not sound like the spirit world?
Then the fall (of our frequency?) happened and we’re kicked out of the garden. Being kicked out, our awareness is honed in on the physical realm and we’re blind to the spirit realm, and it’s literally a curse. Having to work hard to survive, kill and eat other beings, die ourselves.
And the fact that patriarchy is part of this curse is just chef’s kiss because that means it’s not actually good and holy and is spiritually unnatural.
I think the details put into the story of genesis are problematic patriarchal bs but there really is something to the general idea I just feel it.

Went to my first church service in like 7 or 8 years today. Definitely cried when they started openly talking about queer issues.

Anyway if you still believe that conservative Christians have the correct interpretations of scripture, and that nobody has ever interpreted it differently until the past 50 years, then you are still buying into conservative lies and propaganda & should consider reading more into the works of progressive religious scholars because they not only make sound scriptural arguments, but also highlight how verses used to promote bigotry today have been interpreted differently during different times throughout history.

If you ever find yourself in public with an obnoxious Christian that is trying to pray for an audience, just hit ‘em with the Matthew 6:5 quote:
And when you pray, you should not be like the hypocrites, who love standing in the synagogues and at the corners of the streets to pray, so that they may be seen by men.

There is no dichotomy between man and God's image. Whoever tortures a human being, whoever abuses a human being, whoever outrages a human being, abuses God's image.

On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb.
They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.
While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them.
In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: ‘The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’ ”
Then they remembered his words.

Everyone talks about how Jesus drove the money changers and merchants out of the temple, but everyone glosses over the fact that he took the time to braid a whip. That would have taken a couple hours. I have braided leather before, and it takes a lot of time and effort. It may have even taken more than one day, all scripture says is, “And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple-“ there isn’t a time period given. But I would still say it was at least a few hours. he had to braid multiple cords, bind them together, make a handle, and fix the cords to the handle.
The point of this is that what he did was NOT impulsive. It was cold and calculated. Premeditated even.

Yall ever heard white church music? Christian rock is one of the most gratingly generic and repetitive genres of music out there by a mile. It sucks so fucking bad. I am talking about this now because someone is sitting in front of the hospital and blaring “how great? Is our god?” As loud as the speakers in his truck can handle
#gospel music#christian rock#honestly the only even vaguely gospel music i bother listening to is like#folk country with religious elements
