Help a Displaced Amal's Family from Gaza Rebuild Their Lives 💔🇵🇸

Dear Humanity,

My name is Amal, and I am from Gaza. We are 5 family members. Currently, my family and I are living in northern Gaza under conditions of starvation, shelling, and gunfire. Gaza is experiencing a devastating war that has forced many families, including mine, to flee our homes repeatedly. Each time we are displaced, we are unable to take anything with us, losing the little food and clothing we managed to store.

We are enduring an unimaginable crisis right now, facing severe shortages of food and water tainted with harmful viruses and bacteria. This contamination is causing dangerous skin and respiratory diseases, and we are now also grappling with an outbreak of polio.

The scarcity of food is not just a hardship; it is a relentless torment, leaving us weakened and ill. Our lack of income, or rather its complete absence, is tearing our family apart, leaving us helpless and struggling to survive.

This suffering is beyond what any living being should endure. Imagine spending just one night in these conditions how would you feel? From the depths of our hearts, we desperately implore you to support us, to help us escape this famine and the devastation of war.

Our home, my workplace, and all my sources of income as a software developer have been destroyed due to the war. With no stable place to stay and no source of income, we are struggling to survive.

Despite it all, we chose to move forward and got married in the middle of the war, with no wedding ceremony—just a simple union that symbolized resilience amid the devastation.

We’ve been displaced multiple times, each time facing a new eviction order and starting over again. We were forced to leave everything behind and flee with only a few belongings. The displacement was devastating, as we had to leave behind the life we built and the dreams we held for our future.

Today, we live in a small home in Al-Nuseirat, struggling to cover basic needs like food, water, and alternative electricity, facing monthly expenses we can hardly bear. Recently, a new eviction notice was issued for our area, and we don’t know what lies ahead. We’re searching for online work and have skills we can utilize, but finding opportunities has been very challenging under these conditions.

After renting the apartment in Nuseirat, we thought we had found a safe haven from the horrors of war. But on the night of 3-11-2024, explosions erupted nearby, and we never imagined one would hit our apartment. Suddenly, a missile struck; walls shook, parts collapsed, and windows shattered, leaving the room we had just been in destroyed.

We miraculously survived, but the place that once felt like a refuge had become a scene of chaos and destruction. With heavy hearts, we gathered what little remained and moved on once again, hoping to find shelter far from this endless devastation.

On 28-11-2024, our home was shelled for the second time and struck by an artillery shell. Save My Brother Samer’s Life 🚨

I’m writing as a brother watching Samer struggle for survival. His health has deteriorated to the point of falling into a coma, and we are unable to provide him with the necessary treatment. 💔

Samer suffers from bipolar disorder, and his stability relied on daily medications including LeponeX (Clozapine), Depalept Chrono (Sodium Valproate), and Lithium CO3 (Lithium Carbonate). These medications helped stabilize him, but without them, his health has worsened significantly. Every moment is crucial, and the pain and worry are relentless. 😞

There is no place for my brother in the hospital, and we cannot secure the treatment he needs. Imagine being unable to help your own brother as he struggles, without a way to provide the medicine he needs to recover.

I was left from Gaza to receive treatment in Egypt.

After 7 October my home was destroyed and we lost everything we have

Five years ago, I had a stroke in the left foot during childbirth. I still suffer from pain until this time. During the diagnosis, it was discovered that I have a genetic factor that causes blood clots and needed lifelong treatment.

For my son Ahmed, he is seven years old, he was diagnosed with electrical charges in the brain and because of that he suffers from excessive movement and distraction.

I hope you help me and support for treatment needs (for analysis and radiology).

Fundraiser spotlight: Safaa, Muhammed and Amir

I have another specific fundraiser I’d like to share with you all: today I spoke to Safaa ( @sfaamq10 here on tumblr), a mother to a little boy named Amir. Safaa and her husband Muhammed had their son inside a tent about 9 months ago, and they’ve been trying to provide for him ever since while raising money in order to get to safety.

As of writing this, they’ve raised about $15,975 out of their $75,000 goal. They still need around $60,000 until they can reach their target. Safaa has also had past accounts on here taken down, which has hindered her ability to raise the money she needs.

When I was displaced first time, I was pregnant with my first child, and due to the circumstances of the war, the lack of food and medicine, the poor psychological state, and the intense fear, I lost my fetus. It was the most difficult moment of my life at the time.
