first post, here is a progress log!
- The demo is currently at 15k words without code, a bit over 16k with code. I started in August, so 15k while working sporadically for about a month is okay in my book. With what I have planned for the first chapter, I’d say I’m about halfway through. I’m shooting for probably 25-30k, considering that the next section I’m writing in ch1 is branching. Most of it is optional, just worldbuilding stuff that can be skipped on subsequent playthroughs. Chapter outline is about 3k words, I’m about halfway through implementing things from the outline.
- Current demo features!
- Have a nightmare!
- Choose your appearance! Play dress up! Become a troublemaker or a model child! (Or choose a premade character appearance and just choose name, pronouns, and then work on your stats. You do you.)
- Harass an old man by giving him horrible mugs. (Fish want me, women fear me. World’s greatest Peepaw. Etc. He hates them.)
- Further harass an old man by failing to follow potion directions. (Too complicated, ended up eating nightshade. L.)
- Really you’re just spending time with your guardian so far. Squint the tiniest bit and he doesn’t add up quite right. Or avert your eyes entirely.
I’m going to write a proper introductory post with the story premise and planned features soon, but I’d like to at least get the demo mostly done before I tote features that aren’t available yet.
thanks for reading. have a good one. :)
