this made shiro go all mushy, which in turn made keth tell him that he was just the only person there whose name he could remember

thirteen-year-old keith once gave adam the shovel talk. adam tells shiro about this as though it's some cute anecdote, but shiro actually panics because "no you don't get it, he's serious. you should probably lay low until i talk to him"

keith sometimes gets scared during the night but he doesn't know what he's supposed to do about it so he just taps over to shiro's room and stands next to his bed silently staring until shiro wakes up with a scream

shiro, after finding a knife under keith's pillow while changing his bedsheets: ...i will give up on you occasionally

the first time keith initiated a hug was genuinely one of the happiest moments of shiro's life. this is a big deal, considering the fact that he literally keeps a memory book

whenever shiro acts particularly overbearing and dad-like, keith just looks him straight in the eye and goes "isn't saturday bingo night in the retirement home"

whenever he talks to literally anyone shiro will be like "yeah i love keith. he's a very good kid and an amazing pilot and i'm very proud of everything he has achieved. i would do anything for him" but also when keith asks if he can have a gum he’ll say no and call him a shithead

keith: (comes to the kitchen)

shiro: it'll be done in five minutes, actually. but now that you're already here you might as well set the table

the sillier the joke, the louder keith laughs. the first time little preteen keith bursts into full-body laughter is when shiro makes a truly horrible pun, and once he calms down he's like "what the shit are you looking at" while shiro just stares at him with tears in his eyes because god he loves this little dude so much

garrison official: wait. keith isn't your kid?

shiro: ...no?

garrison official 2: huh. i really thought you and adam adopted him

shiro: wh... how many of you thought this?

because the idea that he looks fully human and only has galran features when he’s going crazy?? wack.

his teeth are fucked up

like fuuucked up. you know how some people have like, a third set of teeth or extra teeth that grow in?? he has that above his canines on both jaws but they kinda decided “lol fuck it” and stopped growing

he’s also got smaller canines that replace the teeth right next to his actual canines, which are pretty long and sharp. like. vampire sharp

they are permanently sharp bc teeth dont magically turn into fangs when desperate LAUREN.

lance loves this (he’s secretely a vampire lover deep down)

he imagines he’s bella and keith is edward only for keith to be like “who tf are those”

he has night vision!! which means that his eyes do the weird reflective thing that cats do and it never fails to freak everyone the fuck out

and his scelra are very lightly yellow. you can’t really see it unless you look very closely but doctors used to freak the fuck out and dad kogane had to explain that it was a family thing and no he doesn’t have jaundice

his nails are weirdly tough

when he was a kid his dad would have to use a metal file to file them down and he hated it. he would cry and scream and just act like a huge baby

it’s very unnoticeable unless you run your hands across his head bc its hidden by his mullet, but keith has a slight galra crest

galra are double jointed so he can do some crazy shit lol

sixteen year old keith, folding his arms over his head from the back: aha hey shiro wasn’t that cool do u wanna see me twist my ankle all the way back

shiro: wh. wh at the fuck

also. his vocal cords can do some wild noises that a normal human should not be able to make, but bc he’s part human most galran noises or any attempts at speaking the language are thwarted. he just sounds like a squeaky toy 

 across his body he has markings krolias markings!!! except they aren’t purple, they’re just slightly darker than his natural skin tone so he’s always assumed they were weird birth marks 

since krolia is probably a feline type galra she’s probably lactose intolerant, and passed this onto keith. he ignores it

keith, on the toilet after eating three tubs of icecream that his foster parents warned him against: i didn’t raise my stomach to be no weak ass bitch 🙄

keith can eat most things raw and definitely should’ve gotten sick by this point
