This statement was made 2 months ago...now we have 1000 cases and 3 dead and the world has Covid in almost every country, nearly 1,000,000 infected and 50,000 dead (if China's low reporting is to be believed otherwise it is far worse).... According to WHO and other records SARS spread to only 26 countries, infected about 8000 people and killed 774...
As a percentage, unless you are in Italy or are over 60, then technically yes a lower percentage die but because of its unique incubation time, unclear transmission model but very clear ease to spread it has already claimed almost 65 times as many victims.
The PAP have had 15 plus years to prepare for Covid since the SARs outbreak and yet despite their best efforts we are still seeing a rise in cases.... But before now I don't believe anybody ever consider a scenario of holding an election when a global pandemic is on...
So with what must only be weeks of rushed preparation the same team that advised PM to make this statement about Covid is now going to assure us the elections can be held safely and are necessary?
Should we be concerned?
And shouldn't this wait until we know more about the Virus?
We are talking peoples lives?..
They should never be gambled for politics...
We still have 1 year to prepare!

In my youth one man working could easily, comfortably support a family of 6.
Nowadays, even with 2 working adults it's a struggle to support even a family of 3.
This is what our PAP GOVERNMENT calls "PROGRESS"...!!!

Singapore is never a beacon of employment rights, and neither is its standards anywhere acceptable. No minimum wage, minimal annual leave, and preferential employment for foreigners are some of the supporting evidence behind this well known fact.
Abusing cheap foreign labour and elderly workers is all Singapore is good at, and the primary cause is the absence of a union.
NTUC professes itself to be a workers union, but in practice it is a lapdog of the PAP dictatorship created to oppress employee benefits and rights. Earlier this week, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong even unabashedly announced that he will not relinquish control over NTUC:
“The bond between the ruling People’s Action Party (PAP) and the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) must be sustained and strengthened, as Singapore navigates the uncharted waters of global uncertainties, a new phase for its economy and technological disruptions.”

I conducted an online poll on two matters recently. They result speak for themselves:-
(1) The more the pappies tweak and nanny, the worse our lives become:
Result of poll: 7 persons (100%) answered “yes” to this statement while none answered no.
(2) CPF is our own monies and should be returned to us at age 55 as promised.
Result of poll: 25 respondents (100%) answered “yes” to this statement while none (0%) answered no.
Just look at all the wayang going on to promote PG card and all the nannying to lock up our own cpf and promotion to all the cronies to be the talent, it makes one sick.
How to believe some leaders who conned you so many times like the pappies any more?

After inviting more foreigners to take up jobs in Singapore, the unemployment rate hit a record 10-year-high of 3.3% since 2009.
There are also more job seekers than job vacancies in the market, at 47,700 vacancies for 50,745 unemployed residents in Singapore. 77% of these unemployed are holding middle class jobs known as PMET (professionals, managers, executives and technicians).
Foreign employment growth, excluding maids, also overtook local employment growth for the first time in three years. The number of foreigners employed exceed Singaporeans by 11,600 in the first half of 2019, jumping 29 times from a year ago.
A large number of foreigners are largely sourced from India, which Lee Hsien Loong renewed the CECA trade pact with in June 2016.
The Ministry of Manpower however issued a propaganda statement claiming that it is still “good news”:
“Final data confirmed that employers are retaining their existing workers despite economic headwinds… At the same time, hiring sentiments have turned cautious.”
