"[Wait and see] began on Tumblr. And then, seeing I was writing episode 5 at the time and it was already a thing, it crept into the show." â Neil Gaiman, and his commitment to the bit.

I cannot wait for Aziraphale and Crowleyâs season 3 blowout
Crowley screaming at Aziraphale that he gets it. He gets that they couldnât be forever. Aziraphale could never truly want him while heâs still demonic and dirty. Hereditary enemies. So be it. He understands, he just wishes he figured it out earlier
Aziraphale screaming back at Crowley that heâs made it clear he could never love anything more than he hates Heaven. And Aziraphale is Heaven so how could he ever stand to be with him? He understands, Crowley is what he is and Aziraphale canât ask for more. He just didnât think he was
And that declaration strikes them with agonized horror, and at first itâs just more anger. How dare you believe that? How dare you think so low of me? If you think that then you never knew me.
But they canât keep it up. That anger, slowly starts to give way to reveal the heartbreak underneath. No less painful then the day they separated. They canât keep the walls up anymore, they donât have the strength
You are the best of us, Aziraphale begins. Yet heaven failed you and hell hunted you and the thought that either might hurt you. I couldnât stand it. I still canât stand it. I thought I could make Heaven the place that saw you for what you are. I wanted you to be safe.
Me? Says Crowley. Ten million angels up there and if god took them and mashed them all together what ever paragon it made still wouldnât be worth you. Heaven couldnât deserve you. And you certainly deserved better than their cage for eternity. I thought that could be me. I wanted you to be free.
They look at the other as the reality of what they both failed to understand settles in.
I wanted to build you a world
I wanted to give you the world
I never needed that, they tell the other. I had you.
You are my world.

Ineffable Husbands really is that ship that has it all. Theyâre married. Theyâre divorced. Theyâve never been together at all. Theyâve been pining for 6000 years. Theyâre gay except theyâre also not at all. Theyâre technically enemies to lovers but theyâve never been enemies nor lovers. Name any fanfic trope, theyâve probably been there, done that and they were entirely oblivious about it. Incredible ship.

Aziraphale is the most character ever. He ran out of ideas so he declared war on hell. He canonically says fuck. His favourite colour is yellow. Heâs literally an angel and can speak every language on earth but still isnât fluent in french. He told his boyfriend to shoot him for his magic act and made him go through with it when their miracles werenât working. He gave away his flaming sword and then lied about it for the next 6000 years. He has a bookshop that never sells books. No oneâs doing it like him.

Okay. One last thing and then I will go to bed
Crowley and Aziraphale are BOTH wrong
Hear me out
I see people dogpiling on Aziraphale for abandoning Crowley and I get it. My heart is broken too. But, Crowleyâs solution isnât the âcorrectâ way either
Because regardless, Heaven and Hell will always be a threat. They can run off like Beez and Gabriel did but then they are just ignoring the problem. Eventually, Heaven or Hell will come back and have to be dealt with. Running is not the correct choice
Aziraphale knows that and believes genuinely that he is sacrificing for the greater good. He isnât going to put out godâs will heâs going to put out his will, THEIR will
But heâs not taking a step back to see the true problem is all of it, not just heaven, but hell too. He cannot make a difference from within without perpetuating that harm even indirectly. But Crowleyâs solution of inaction also means nothing will change and they are just delaying the inevitable
Neither are the âsolution.â What is the solution? I donât know! Thatâs what season 3 is for
Now Iâm going to go cry into my fishbowl again

Uh-
just found out my cousin (who lives in England) is in the art department of a bunch of shows??? And she worked oN DOCTOR WHO? AND HAD LUNCH WITH DAVID TENNANT???? and she just told me so casually because she's interested in the art, not the show? I mean, excuse me? She worked on SHERLOCK???? FOR A WHOLE SEASON?? She worked on Peaky Blinders and Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones??? And probably other things because she has a shitty memory and according to her everything is a blur?? AND AT ONE POINT SHE WAS LIKE: "oh and have you ever heard of Neil Gaiman?" And I was trying not to scream, because yes, of course I've heard of Neil, he's only my favorite author, I've only read like all of his books multiple times, and if you say you worked on Good Omens or the Sandman I'm going to lose it completely. So I said "yeah I've read a couple of his books," -you know, like a liar- "what about him?" and she goes "well I worked on one of his shows and he's brilliant i just can't remember which one" and i go "w-what do you mean he's brilliant? You're.. you're talking about his writing... his writing is brilliant, right?" And she cheerfully says "oh no I don't read books, I ment he was really nice and brilliant when I talked to him" and i go "WHAT DID YOU TALK ABOUT WHAT DID YOU TALK ABOUT" and she thinks for a moment and goes "oh! BRICKS" WHAT IN THE WORLD YES NO THAT MAKES SENSE YOU GET TO WORK AND TALK WITH NEIL FUCKING GAIMAN AND YOU TALK ABOUT BRICKS? NO THAT'S TOTALLY NORMAL I'M NOT MAD ".... it was what I was designing at the time, I needed to know what vibe the bricks should have. Anyway want to see the spinning fireplace I made for doctor who" WHAT THE FUCK.
