okay i need to ramble about JD in my 'Where the stars took root AU' real quick cause like its just tinkling me right now and i need it stop

the stars took root au, JD is the one who get kidnapped by V and V. And the reason why he's the one who get's captured this time? JD became a generational Superstar after he returned to the tree and assuming his entire family was gone fell back to his old habits that he got from Aster of putting work first and preforming as a coping mechanism.

Goes to mount rageous and starts building up his solo career only this time his mental health is basically beyond saving at this point as he falls deeper and deeper into pits of guilt and despair over his family. And also just the guilt he felt for leaving his comatose mother in the care of his grandma and not even being able to say goodbye to her properly and just yeah suffering suffering

It goes to the point that his manager (a shitty one) encourages JD to take substance just so he can act good in front of every one (history is repeating itself with JD in place of Aster)

JD getting hallucinations about his childhood and shit and this goes on for roughly 11 years until JD ends up getting a near death experience by a jealous star rival at mount rageous and this serves as a wake up call for him to stop his destructive cycle and on impluse just walk out of his contract with his shitty manager to try and get his life back togather

but of course his sudden walking out of his singing contract comes to bite him back in the ass when before Barb was to announce her world tour, gets trollnapped by Velvet and Veneer (helped by his old shitty manager) for his singing talent since they grew up listening to his music before he dropped the face of the planet : )

presenting my manananggal OC Catalina!

some points about her

Catalina is a half Classical and half Rock troll

she lived in classical until she was 14 and was often judged at for her more mundane colors by her snobbish classical family

Catalina only started using her mananangal form more when she left home to go travel

in doing so getting in touch with her Rock side that she greatly felt relief in

She's like maraceline and drinks the red colors away from things rather than actually drinking blood (or in reference to the original manananggal folklore: pregnant women's unborn fetuses)

Okay so these are the ages for the characters (that have appeared so far) in my Bergen Colony fic since i realized I haven't exactly specified in any of the current chapters what everybody's ages are and where we are in terms of the 20 timeline that band together has so here the list:

Jade/Rock zombie JD: is 29

Flint (an oc): is 22

Dickory: is also 29

Chaz : is 31

Hickory: is 23

Tresillo: is 13

Wani: is also 13

yeah so the Bergen Colony fic is taking roughly about 10ish years since brozone broke up.

Would it be in-character for Aster, who's been taking care of Branch, to embroider a tapestry portrait of her family like Elinor from Brave did? Ever since I watched that flashback clip, I couldn't get the thought out of my mind.

honestly I can see it so yes she definitely would. Probably encouraged by Poppy when she was given an embroidered dress by Aster on her birthday

finished Chaz's design for the Bergen Colony Fic! took inspo from vintage Jazz outfits for him the other bounty hunters designs I will likely do hickory and dickory designs next

Okay soo for the next chapter Jade rides out of the colony to check on something but he needs i creature to ride and I'm stuck between two that will accompany him through the rest of the fic

John Dory (Part of my Trolls Kid at Heart AU)

Here is 19-year-old John Dory, who may look a bit younger than he actually is without his goggles, which he tends to get this assumption a lot. But that doesn’t stop him from going on solo hiking and backpacking trips which they tend to be risky but fun.

Although he spends most of time going on these trips, he always make sure to make some time to spend some time with his younger brothers, especially when it came to doing their BroZone concerts. He also loves to spend time with his little armadillo bus Rhonda.

John Dory isn’t afraid to joke around and goof off at times. He is also a bit of a kid of heart like Spruce but shows this side of him whenever he’s in the mood, but still loves to have fun! And if it involves bouncy houses? Count him in!

With Aster being alive to raise Branch, are there mother-son moments like this when Branch is growing up?

yes absolutely they would have moments like that

especially when Branch and Aster live in the pod in their first few years in troll village rather than the Bunker which branch only starts to build when he's 12

How is Aster as a mother to Branch? Does she help him with his trauma as he grows up?

Has Branch ever hit his brothers with something like "At least Mom was there for me, unlike you!" in an argument or fight?

Aster as a mother to Branch is actually a pretty good mom but not without problems. Since Aster still has lingering mindset of "keep being happy no matter what" she developed after the lost of her husband and only focusing on her career for the trolls community. So she does have times when Aster is overbearing towards Branch in regards when he had a bad day or he was sad over something Aster thinks isn't that bad.

BUT that was only in the first few years when they settled in troll village after the escape and Aster does work through it eventually.

And yes Aster does help with Branch's trauma as he grows up and firmly tells him time and time again that it wasn't his fault that Rosiepuff died because of his singing. Branch does come to terms with it and by the time of the first movie is MUCH more adjusted than he was in canon.

Another bit is that Branch actually does sing a little in this AU cause of Aster's support BUT he only sings in private and its always softer songs that bring him and his mom comfort over their shared grief over his brothers supposedly dying.

A bit about this AU is that before the escape there were trolls who did successfully get out of the tree but no one ever heard from them again. So most trolls just assumed that trolls who escaped early died in the wilderness

And this is what Aster and later when Branch is older to comprehend the history of the CENTURY long captivity of their community in Bergen town, both of them assume for understandable reasons that the brothers died.

Because of this assumption, Aster because of her guilt for neglecting and being distant to all the bros during her career as a Pop Star. She is very open with Branch about their emotional needs and that also comes with opening up to him about the exact situation with her being an awful mother to his brothers before he was born.

So Branch has a bigger picture of the generational trauma that caused their family to break apart and he doesn't blame his mom at all cause he sees that it was just a shipreck waiting to happen

And for the last part of your ask, its a yes. Cause Branch is aware of all the baggage of their family but in his mind by the time of TBT he still does hold a little bit of contentment for his brothers for leaving and never contacting them when he finds out all of them are alive.

I would have to say that he lashes out this argument during the big fight scene before mount rageous (also side note but JD is the one who got kidnapped in this AU not floyd)

cause like ALL the bros have legitimate reasons for disliking or not really knowing how to act around Aster who in their perspective was either a cold or distant figure in their childhood.

So i made a Troll Villainess AU a WHILE ago and i lost interest in it but recently on the discord server I'm in I got reignited for this concept again so here's John Dory/June's design as one of the main villainesses look like The rest of Fem!Brozone get reborn in a villainess family made of 5 sisters. With June being the head of the family and in game the final boss for Poppy to defeat.
