Recently binged Outer Wilds in a few days so of course I had to make an OC! They/them. All the other NPCs in the game are named after rocks so I also stuck to the theme. Although they aren’t color coded like lapis lazuli, I just liked the name. I haven’t played the DLC yet!

Hawke that dies in the fade is heartbreaking for Varric, but a Hawke that is alive for Veilguard is DEVASTATING for Hawke. Varric without Hawke is one thing but Hawke without Varric is insane. That’s an outcome neither one of them expected. Do you understand what I am saying

It’s insane to me that Dragon Age 2 is sandwiched in between two WAY HUGER and WAY MORE SUCCESSFUL games about more traditional fantasy protagonists facing off against world ending threats and winning and it’s this…weird, raw, personal tragedy about how no matter what you do, you can’t always stop crisis and disaster from occurring. Like The Hero or Ferelden, no matter who they were, wants to stop a Blight. The Inquisitor wants to repair the sky. And Hawke, like, wants to make some money, hang around their friends, and keep their family and their adoptive city safe. And they can’t even fucking do that, so unlike the heroes before and after them. You spend seven years in Kirkwall until the game says, “yeah, no matter what, the prejudices and traumas and hurts of this world are Too Much for one person to stop them. The world changes, wars roll over the land, you cannot stop history, Hawke. You tried. You failed.” And then you just sit there, sixteen years old, listening to “I’m Not Calling You A Liar” and you’re like….well, I guess I really wasn’t a hero. Damn. I love it.

OC Profile || Dragon Age: Veilguard

My last dragon age profile!! My bastard baby gal!! She is my Hawke OC and Varric Tethras’s daughter. Yes she stole Varrics necklace to use as a belt but he has a diff one in Veilguard anyway so. She also prob stole some armor pieces from Hawke. She’s extremely extroverted and friendly and def got her sense of humor from both her parents. She’s also nepo baby as hell.

The three of them move to a cottage in the woods at the end of DA2 when Delany is around 3 (exact location is still a WIP). There she discovers a Dalish elf clan living nearby and she grows up exploring the woods with some elvish friends. Varric gets kidnapped by Cassandra on one of his trips to Kirkwall and then he later sends them word to join him in Skyhold during Inquisition where Delany befriends every single Inquisition member (aged 8). Her mom goes missing for a few months in the Fade but she eventually finds her way out. They move back to Kirkwall right before Trespasser as Varric becomes Viscount and she often sneaks out of the city to explore the woods. At 18 she convinces her parents to let her join the Veil Jumpers.

OC Profile || Dragon Age: Inquisition

Three out of four DA games done! Meet my inky! I’m still working out her story but I’m debating giving her a brother who maybe joins Solas in Trespasser? Also yes there isn’t spears in Inquisition just pretend there is 😂 She starts off not really wanting to be a hero and just wants to be home in the forest and doesn’t want to learn or engage with humans much but after time she becomes great friends with everyone as she is a secret softy and really does want to help save the world if she is able. They earn her trust. Yes she is also a Solas romancer. She finds his knowledge about the ancient elves and the fade fascinating even if they do occasionally butt heads about the Dalish. Bonus: she loves children so she becomes a bestie for Delany. Also Varric kinda adopts her as a kid like he does with Merrill and Cole and Harding.
